    Good news! It's National Pumpkin Cheesecake Day! Hope someone around here makes one.

    Bad news. I was in the mudbath last night around midnight washing my hands, and for some reason I was looking down. I saw a snake sneaking around the corner, coming my way. I screamed and screamed and screamed for John (he was watching tv in another room with the door shut) and he finally heard me, but so did the snake. Snake turned around and went under the door and into a closet in the hall. So John blocked off under the door and I just HOPE that thing is still in there this morning because if he is loose in this house, I am going to be one unhappy person.

    HOPE you all have a good day. I'm leaving home until this mess is sorted out.

    I keep thinking, "What would I do if I were alone?"

    OMG Elaine. As far as I'm concerned, the only good snake is a DEAD one. I would be freaking out until it was gone.

    Nothing new here - it's payday and everyone loves me today.

    Erin's birthday is next Tuesday - what does one buy a 15-year-old girl? I'm thinking a gift card. Yes, it's the easy way out, but one that I can be sure she gets what SHE wants, and not what I THINK she wants (because I'm usually wrong!).

    More coffee and then payroll. Y'all have a good 'un!
    The only person you should try to be better than is the person you were yesterday.

      Elaine!... I am with you all the way.!!.. I hate snakes. shivered when I read this.....

      lazy morning, so far... finished off two big books in the Nook by skimming through. to the ends... I refuse to keep reading a book that don't catch my interest by chapter 3... and if I read the last two chapters. I get the message of the whole 400 pages .. Now I have to go hunting for some new ones...

      Yesterday was a sewing day.. I replaced the zipper in Blaise's winter jacket.. which I hope to get to Donna today .. and a soccer game day . Bethany's team won.... so the will have yet another playoff game somewhere.. next week..

      HI Justy, hope you are feeling good this morning

      and same for you Sharon..
      HI Paula..

      ~~~~~be back to read what you'll are doing
        Elaine, I'm like you...I'd be otta there...in fact I'd left last night. I wouldn't be sleeping in the same house as that snake. Pat...it's not always the easy way out, even my great-niece likes money at age 5. It was her favorite gift.
        Good morning to all.
        I did get all my woodwork and floors cleaned yesterday. My back wasn't happy, but "you gotta do what you gotta do". I'll baby it today. At least dusting isn't a back breaker.
        I know Regions Bank made a couple in Birmingham, Al. happy. The bank deducted their $200. check from my account yesterday. So will have to straighten out that mess this morning. Will be on the phone at 9 A.M. sharp when they open the doors.
        Hope all have a very nice day.
          Good Morning! Ah...the sun is shining & it's suppose to hit 70 today.
          Yesterday was good. Got my laundry done & had a nice visit with my cousin Karen. She's having me cook dinner for her 2x a week and since she's my only customer at this point, I let her tell me what she wanted. We went through recipes & menus. Got my sugar cookies baked off & half iced. Had planned to have leftovers and ice all my cookies, but Kathy called & begged me to cook dinner because she was bragging about my cooking to a friend & wanted to bring her home for dinner. So I made deep dish chicken with the agreement she's clean up the kitchen. She tried getting away with only dealing with the dishes that would go in the dishwasher, but I made her come back in and do the hand washing too. Cleaning up means ALL the dishes. Who did she think was going to do them? Anyways, I didn't get all the cookies iced but at least I got a good start on them.
          Today I'll be spending it in the kitchen. I have an order for 2 pies (plum & apple), want to finish icing the cookies, and Karen is getting dinner. If I wasn't cooking her dinner, we'd be having leftovers, but that's OK. When Becca is home, I'll be cooking stuff that Corky won't eat, so now he'll have choices & I don't have to cook specifically for him too. Looking forward to Becca coming home Friday afternoon. We made plans for the weekend already. Family & more family. Friday night her & I are going to watch the Scandal episodes I've recorded. I haven't watched them yet because I was waiting for her.
          Elaine...I wouldn't have been able to sleep. Pat...perfect gift. I usually bought them things, but I knew specifically what they wanted.
          Have a good one all!
            Good morning...My youngest niece got a pet snake for her birthday it was what she wanted and she pays for all the supplies with her allowance...Her little snake she sure is cute! I like him and will pet him..but that is all...I would freak out if he got loose..and I most definately would not want a snake loose in my house...The other thing I don't much care for is spiders...My youngest niece was here a couple weeks ago and found 5 in one night...needless to say my dad had to come spray the next day.
            Today I am feeling nervous and have a belly full of butterflies...Today my case manager from the autism center and I will be going to the Adult Day care center that I think I want to volunteer at...I am very excited and very hopeful that it will work out for me...I will volunteer a couple days a weeks for a few hours each day...I am thinking Tuesday and Thursday and other special occasion days.
            Today is my full day...meetings this morning...group this afternoon church this evening
              Good Morning, off to a later start getting here, started doing a few things in the bedroom before I left the room and one cleaning thing turned into another..but now, 'here I am'...
              ELAINE!!! A Snake in the house, no way Jose' I would not rest until I knew that 'thing' was dead, gone and buried, sure hope he wasn't after a mouse!!
              I do not miss living in an area where I have never seen a snake, grew up in Eastern KY and snakes where everywhere...after leaving home I usually only visited when snakes were not active...
              Got company coming from IN to visit tomorrow, so I might not be around much from Friday until Monday...so looking forward to it, have not seen them in such a very, very long time...my cousin and I are the same age with only a few months in between, my Aunt, my Dad's sister is in her 80's. Hubby is in Pasedena, TX but will be home late Thursday night. So my cooking marathon will continue today, along with more cleaning of course, got to have that spic 'n' span look..
              Dr. appt. went good yesterday, he is happy with the healing process, but still very concerned that I need the Prednisone to keep it that way, which can cause more problems in the long run...he looked at my butt area and says I am so severely scarred that surgery is the only option...total removal..they have been working on my paperwork for University of MI, I have been with him since 1983 when I got the diagnosis of Crohn's, except for the years I was in IL. I told him if I could and we could do it I would like to wait until after the first of the year, with holidays coming up, hubby traveling so much, now is just not the best time, he doesn't really want to, but we will try it..
              Got all the shopping done that I wanted to get done yesterday also, buy bulk so I don't have to go back as often, were as when hubby does it his philosophy is, "why buy bulk when you can always just stop and buy it when you need it"? Body wash, shampoos, deodorants, tooth paste, toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, bottled water, cleaning supplies, etc. well I got it done yesterday...
              Also got more blocks stitched around on putting my quilt together, will be a week tomorrow I started and got 40 of them done, and 40 more to go before putting the binding around it...my son may have it before winter after all...I love sitting in the evenings sewing on it, getting the larger hoop really has made it go faster...
              Wonder if jostoy is still feeling the soreness today.
              Maxie, how are the doors coming along? And what recipes did you make of Tinkers...love the story about Matt coming to your house for leftovers...I miss her.
              Pat, good idea on the gift card, even my youngest grandgirls like that better..
              Sure wish we would hear from Mickey, worried about her and Marianne.
              I see on Facebook that Darbyrose is now a house owner, happy for her..Jackie is still looking up (at the stars these days) she is such a smart woman..also wondering how Cynders is doing, haven't seen nor heard anything from her in a long time...so many others that we miss..
              Well time to get this day started, read the news, get dressed, turn on some music and get this cleaning and cooking started...
              Love, hugs, prayers and all things good wished for all of you...
              Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God
                Well, the posting stalled this morning. So I copied my post, left & returned, and hope it works this time.
                Good morning, everyone.
                Yesterday, just before the sun was down, it rained lightly just in the front yard --- none of it crossed the fence to the backyard (just like about a week ago). E thought it very strange, and kept looking out all the windows. However, just after the sun set and it was very dark out, about 6:30ish, the rain really started falling all around us. It continued through the night til about 5:00a.....it was still very completely dark. Right now it's 6a, and a "false dawn" is lightening the sky. It's heavily clouded out there, and it'll be only 71° today with a 60% chance rain for today (at the moment, anyway). ☔️
                Yesterday we received a surprise pkg from middle DD. A box of pumpkin cheesecake bites, and a box of dipped strawberries from a place called Sherri's Berries. I like the pumpkin bites best! They are absolutely heaven. Unfortunately, they recommend these be used up within 5 days. CAN THESE BE FROZEN? E is holding strictly to his diet, but I make room for one treat each day. The cheesecake is 4 WW points, the strawberries are 6 WW points. No way can I polish these off in 5 days!
                BIL said his wife has taken a turn for the worse; my AZ bestie said her husband had another stroke and is not responding much to therapy. SIL is in her mid-80's, and Bestie's mate is in late-80's. This doesn't seem to bode well for either. 😔
                Not much new here. Tomorrow I have to go for my blood draw. The clinic changed a couple of my appointments recently; fortunately the dates didn't interfere with anything else.
                Sharon, I hope you can continue til after the new year for that surgery. You're in my thoughts a lot.
                Elaine, I hate snakes, too. Even the "docile" or harmless ones. Hope it doesn't lay it's eggs in your closet!
                Pat, I agree, gift cards are best for teens. It's hard to buy for any kid these days.
                Happy baking, cookie.
                Hi Maye, Jostoy, Maxie, Justy, Paula, and anyone else posting today.
                Well, I guess I'll get my mocha....don't know yet what I want for breakfast.
                Have a good day! ☀️
                ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
                Create a beautiful day wherever you go.

                  Hi everyone! I hope I can get this post done. The vision is blurry and hard to keep the words from "waving" all over the place.

                  My doctor's appointment was a waste of time and I got no answers. I waited more than 2 hours before getting to see him and he was useless. I had to get another urinalysis done and that was no fun. All the blood work did was create more questions and provided no answers. Now, he wants to send me to an infectious disease specialist. I told him that I just will chalk it up to being old and stressed. I do NOT want to keep chasing after doctors and having more and more tests with inconclusive results!

                  I WILL get my hair cut today! I hope!!! I am still having trouble getting Stewart's attorney to call me and I will have to wait to see if he calls this morning.

                  Pat: Gift cards are great And I know you will prepare a great dinner and birthday cake!

                  Elaine: I would be selling the house and moving - IF I survived the heart attack! Snakes and I do not get along.

                  Bethina: Good luck with your meeting. I know you will do well with the old folks - they will love you!

                  Donna: You exhaust me and I haven't done anything except read your post!

                  I have to run and get ready to go do all my running! Have a great day everyone!!!!

                  "God loves us so much, He gave us friends!" Amen! http://roundersonline.org/core/images/smilies/smile.png

                    The house would not be big enough for me and a snake! I just hate those things... Another day with nothing planned. My sister wants me to come down tomorrow and she will help me learn about the chalk paint I want to use on the cabs. I don't know it is a long drive. Sierra came in from her orientation and visit with the mommy dearest in a mood. This is a very time consuming course and the students who talked with them told them to not even think about keeping a job with the homework and class hours; they will be forming study groups and she was so darn over whelmed just listening. All her classes are mostly science classes so naturally each will have a lab. WIth this job she is only expected to pay her car insurance and gas money. Her dad told her he wanted her to consider quitting so she would have weekends free to study and or unwind and spend time with family and friends. Mommy dearest must have had other ideas and was looking for ways for her to squeeze in work...mommy is not very generous with any support other than lip flapping. To think she would fill a gas tank or hand the child a dollar to spend is beyond her realm of thought. She went off to school a little calmer this morning and it is her long day so I won't see her until 6 when she runs through for a fast meal then back for her night class. I dunno...always drama with a girl. Yesterday I did laundry and went out for an early supper...Steak and Shake..I love that place, then home for an evening of NCIS. Maybe more of the same for today minus NCIS. I am really at a stand still with projects until the doors are replaced. Two more weeks. Today it again sunny and dry, temps in the 80s. Just a tease from Mother Nature...she's gonna get me soon!

                      Elaine, please update and let us know as soon as the snake is done away!
                      I am late but got tons done before kids arrived. Starting tomorrow my days get 30 minutes earlier: Dad will bring the 4 year old while Mom goes out on maternity leave.
                      Pat, I always want to give a gift, but then I remember how much I Loved shopping and having money! Even as an adult...
                      Now, if I can just remember that when it comes holiday giving time. The mom and nana in me wants to send gifts. Japan family likes packages; Washington family likes gift cards. Talking with my nieces and nephews ( well, more the girls) I did get great ideas for gifts.
                      Hope the rest of everyone's day goes great with no snakes in the vicinity

                        Aloha all!

                        Don't mind snakes but NOT in the house. Shudder. Hope John can find it today and get rid of it. Kill it if it's poisonous or put it outside if harmless. Hawaii has no snakes but ever so often one gets in the hold or wheel well of an airplane and panics people on the airport until they dispose of it. Hawaii is extremely afraid of a tree snake that has taken over one of the islands-Guam or Midway and there are no ground birds any more plus they are poisonous. If one of those got loose here in Hawaii and multiplied it would be a disaster.

                        Got my hair cut yesterday and will go to Enhanced fitness this morning. Then work on paper work, play on my ipad and read. Such is life for me now days.

                        Have a good day all!

                          Oops, finally read my new med orders for the second time and noticed I shouldn't be taking the Lasix. No wonder I have a cotton mouth as I am on fluid restrictions also. I haven't figured out yet what this hospital does to me? I go in clear headed and come out just the opposite. Next week will be busy so may not be able to post. I'll just be getting a pulmonary test and a couple days later seeing my reg. Dr. which is a waste of time. (Reg. Dr. that is the waste)

                          Keep the snakes at bay and all have a nice day...
