  • Let's get this day started! Welcome Friday

Good Morning to all, and a bit on the chilly side, but now we even have freeze warnings out, glad I put on the heavier blanket this week..

Got all the things out on the counter to make a few more pie crust for the freezer, starting early on the holiday prep, last year caught me sick and not able to do much, so I bought supplies at the store yesterday to start doing some early prep for holiday time.

Been sewing away on that quilt, got to get my tender fingers toughened back up, been a long time, and there are 80 squares to be stitched around...but it is so worth it.

I use to have carpal tunnel, but have had surgery on both hands, being a hairdresser plus a lot of canning, cooking, sewing, etc. took its toll, but the surgery let me get at it again.

Maxie, hope you have better luck with Home Depot than you did with Lowe's...we have always had good luck with Lowe's, different areas, different store..

Maye, posted some pictures on your post about your Great Grandbaby..

Hubby returned last night but is on the road again this morning for another area...he is getting so worn out, he now realizes age catches up with you...

It takes me forever at the grocery store sometimes, and yesterday was one of them, ran into so many people that I had not seen in forever and talking was something I did a lot of..but it felt GREAT!!

I was thinking about red candy apples yesterday, had not been to any fairs this year to have one sooooo, I bought the stuff to make 4 of them here at home, hubby loves them also...small apples..

Also going to make some apple dumplings today, hubby loves them and it is that time of year...make a small batch..

Well off to read the news, have a cup of coffee and get this day started...peace of mind means love in the heart..

    Good Morning.

Sharon, such uplifting news from you this morning. I can tell you are feeling fine. Thank the Lord. Apples - love everything about them, especially dumplings and candied. I've done the caramel but never the red. Used to buy them at the market, but you could never count on the apples to be OK. Hope we can see a photo of the quilt you are making.

Would you believe we are still hitting 90 degrees? 50 in the am and 90 in the afternoon. However, they are predicting a pretty severe winter with lots of ice. Oh dear.

Well, didn't get to read yesterday's posts, so must see what's happening. Got out yesterday to get flu shots and wandered about all morning.

Elaine, look at the post that says Paula, quilt pattern, you can see a small picture of the quilt I am putting together, and a pattern of one I have cut out and ready to start sewing together after I finish quilting this one.

          Morning all TGIF!

Chris made the most fabulous dinner for me last night. Chicken breasts stuffed with spinach and Pepper Jack cheese in a bacon cream sauce, rice-a-roni, and sauteed spinach. It was heaven on a plate. Gotta love a man that cooks!

Meant to mention yesterday that my friend who has been in hospice care finally passed away late Tuesday evening. She is finally at peace and for that I am glad.

It's my weekend off and I'm spending it with my kid. I need to spend some quality time with her. Just hang out and maybe watch Netflix together.

Also, my cousin and her husband are coming in from Tennessee on Sunday - can't wait to see them! Chris and I will probably meet them for dinner Sunday night. Really looking forward to seeing them.

I'm off to drink more coffee and do some reports for the boss. Y'all have a good 'un!

                Good morning, all! 🌞
It's a sunny morning today, and rainstorm is predicted. Temps are dropping to the 80's again.
(Yesterday was heavily overcast, but no rain.....a sleepy day.)

Today I need to call the clinic about flu shots, if they've come in yet.
No other particular plans for today, though. Maybe a run to the grocery store.

                Pat, that dinner sounds scrumptious!
Beth, have fun with the air balloons.
Sharon, I love caramel apples (not the candied ones though). Wish I could still eat them.
Elaine, if it gets really icy this winter, I'm told that kitty litter is good to have on hand --- and it beats having salt corrode cars. Keep a bag in your trunk, plus what you need for driveways and sidewalks. I hope this really works, but a friend told me this year's ago.

                To all......have a great day!

Worked on that darn door all day yesterday and have come to the conclusion we should have replaced it too. We cannot get the door threshold to fit because some wood butcher 25 years ago mangled the door bottom. But we will fix it...I didn;t get to bed until 11:00 last night and I am pooped this morning. Drew will be here early because of early dismissal. Heard from the door installer and no door hung until November 2 and 3. What a bummer and I was mad but then that is the time schedule I had in my head all along. Just when they came in I wanted them hung yesterday! Always probs with old houses. Going to clean up the mess and pick up this place for the weekend...no more work until next day off. I should be sitting in a comfy chair reading and watching tv and not being aggravated and fixing mistakes from a quarter century ago. How was that for affect? Saw where some in the eastern part of the country could get snow. I don't have time to shovel no stinkin' snow so glad it is them. Blues won last night and saw where the dodgers lost. Go KC! I'm running out to teams to root on..

Good SUNNY Day! Lovin' this sunshine.

Yesterday was good. Got my nuts picked up and some other baking supplies. After dinner I headed down to my brother's house and visited with my niece that's home from college on break...sort of...she has to go observe a classroom and then attempt to teach a class today for the same teacher. She has papers to write too during break. While she was doing that, my Mom, SIL, and I played cards.

Kathy's car problem continues to haunt us, but we got some good news. The mechanic we've been taking our cars to said he thought it was a transmission problem...shoot...I saw big $$$$ going out the door. The transmission place said no, it's a catalytic converter problem, so Corky took it to the guy they recommended for that and by golly it was. Fortunately it was the converter that was the easiest to reach & repair. They highly recommended she get a tune up and the other guy said she better be putting more gas in the car or she's going to have bigger problems too. I told Cork we'd put some gas in the car so we didn't have to pay that big bill and it'd get a tune up next month. She supposedly is to go in Monday to fill out the paperwork to start working the midnight shift...yea! She agreed to pretty much hand over her pay checks until she got her bills paid up and enough saved for her to move out. If she gets her hands on her own money, it'll be YEARS before she gets out and I want her out before Christmas.

This morning I had a follow up appt to go over all the tests I had over the past few weeks. All labs were great except for my A1C which was 8.9...drat! They also recommended I go see an Endocrinologist and have my goiter biopsied. Came home & called my beautician and ask if she had time to make me beautiful, so I went and got my hair cut & styled. I feel better now. Now onto laundry and baking pies. I have orders for 3 for tomorrow. Debating about making the lemon pie today or get up early tomorrow & do it.

Glad to hear you are happy Bethina. You are sounding great too Sharon. Sorry Maxie about your frustrations....you have my permission to go sit & relax. The heck with the doors.

                    Have a good one all!

                      Aloha all!

Patty just left for Hana and we had such a nice visit. Got a loan worked out to my oldest granddaughter and son in law for a new house (old really) house they are buying through an investment company. Nothing like going between Ohio, Arizona, and Hawaii. We all have to think of the time difference. With Patty's help we got it worked out so that Kelly and Rob will only have a 2 % interest to pay instead of much more if they had borrowed it from a bank. They are moving from a two bedroom one bath small lot house (which the neighbors next door want and are buying) to a 4 bedroom 3 bath 5 acre older house near a much better school district. So happy I can do this and I will make a little on the deal too.

Patty dropped off some roosters yesterday to a friend and she will pick up some hens from the same friend on the way home plus a bunch of grapes which Patty will make grape jelly of. She promised me some jelly too. Yum.

                      Have a good day all!

Oh yes, I promise not to brag too much when all of you are experiencing heavy winter weather. Not too much--just a little.
