  • HAPPY FRIDAY - THE 9TH OF OCTOBER

    TGIF! One week from today, my pastor will return from his 3 1/2 month sabbatical. During this time, he studied in Rome and then, at the end of August, he went to France to begin his pilgrimage along the El Camino de Santiago. It is a journey of 500+ miles. Father Wilson has almost reached the end of his walk. I am really looking forward to having him back home. Martin Sheen and his son, Emilio Esavez, made a movie called, "The Way." It tells the story of the El Camino de Santiago, If you get a chance to see it, GO FOR IT!! It is a great movie!

    I went to my meeting last night and, as I suspected, I was glad I went - even though I did not want to go.

    I am going to TRY and get out and drive to Walmart today. I have not driven at all this week and I need to get back I the car and go. I haven't even gone to Mass all week. Hopefully, today will be the day I go. I might even get a manicure! I do want to get my hair shampooed and styled.

    HELP!!!! I am almost finished putting all my Christmas Card addresses into an Excel file, but I don't have a clue how to get the data to print out as mailing labels. Does anyone know how Excel works????

    Nalani - Thank you! I got your PM. I wrote a reply, but I couldn't get it to send from the Message Center. It was a good message, too! Phoooooey

    I am so tired that I cant sleep, but I guess I have to try. Wish me luck!

    Have a wonderful day everyone!

    Good rainy day morning to all...yes it is raining, really don't like driving in the rain in a big motorhome pulling a vehicle behind, plus they are saying that there is about 200 miles of nothing but orange barrels we are traveling through...well if we get hungry I can just get up and go back an make lunch, LOL.Have potty close will travel,

    Nalani, I so remember when you and Buddy use to travel, also the nasty accident you guys had..Joy that came here years ago before she and her husband passed away also loved to travel, in fact they came here one time to a campground close.

    Anyone every heard of potato candy? I got up early and made some this morning, super easy, and it was a candy us poor folk enjoyed growing up in KY...so since I was going south for the reunion I decided to make some 'memories'. Another thing we always had growing up, made by my Grandma was gingerbread biscuits, have never found a recipe even close to how hers tasted. For my kids growing up their favorite and still is, No Bake Cookies.

    Forgot to run the dishwasher last night, so had to get up and get that going, like my house neat and tidy while I am gone...I pay a person $20 a day to come in and care for the cats, spend a little time with them, gather in the mail and keep check on the house..worth my peace of mind...

    Maye glad the hear that you spoke up and got some action on David's situation, just seems no one cares or listens anymore!!

    Maxie, hope things are moving right along in getting your house the way you want it..you have to get to know the feel, character of the place.

    Punkin, good luck today, drive safe, be careful...(yah right, this is Val we are talking about)

    jostoy, hope you are in better shape today.

    hrhouse, still watching the area, be safe..

    Well time to get this show on the road...things to do, places to go, and people to see...take care one and all...

    Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

      Good Morning...

      drats. went to bed early and , for once, fell asleep instead of reading .... so at 4am I was awake... tried hard to get back to sleep but 5am I crawled out .. wanted coffee...
      spent most of the time from then to now reading the new fat medicare book.. plus our ins.book.... and now I see why the one "nurse".. took 1/2hr going over all the new things that Obamacare has inserted into the medicare program.. ask so many questions. all called Preventive medicine...... all these "free" screenings are not required but they are to push for you to have them done... David is scheduled for an Abdominal Aorta Aneurysm screening . Blood work for various things.. next week... I will be cancelling the appt. for the Carpal tunnel nerve test. ... he has had that operation once.. and diabetes can cause the nerves in that area.. at 84, he does not want more surgery anyhow.. I had to push to get the appt with the neurologist .. to check out the double vision ... it was a long long doctor visit..

      also, yesterday the soccer game I was looking for ward to got cancelled... darn.

      today is one young lady lesson,, then a trip to Davids favorite store... they have fuzzy slippers at a great price. .. plus I have 15% coupon... still hunting open sweater for me... we will go about lunch time... so you know who isn't cooking today.

      Val ,I thought you had taken yourself off of Driving ?....

      see you all later and
      Hi Paula. Donna, and Justy
      and a friendly wave to you all dear Rounders ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      Take it one Day , one step, at a time.. cause that's all we really have.

        No, I can still legally drive. I'm just not comfortable driving.

        I just saw where it says we are expecting 75% chance of thunderstorms today and tomorrow. We do not need any more rain! We still have dams bursting from the storm. This sure makes the decision to go out harder to make.

        Sharon, I have never heard of potato candn't. Sounds intriguing. $20 a day seems really reasonable. It will cost you a lot more to board your cats and of course the people at the place you board your cats are not going to come in and do all the things you need done in your home.

        Old people shouldn't have to deal with Obamacare!!! I still say it really is Obamadoesn'tcare I'm going to stop being political, and go make myself some coffee. After that I will try to get the nerve up to look out the window and see what the weather looks like. I'm not real sure I want to know!

          Good Morning! The rain hasn't arrived yet, but it's suppose to. Yesterday was perfect...sunny.

          Well we made it through yesterday, but there were a few bumps along the way. The first bump was at 4:45am...Blaise woke crying with a fever, so gave him Tylonol and got him to FINALLY fall back to sleep around 6am...I never did fall back to sleep. Thought he'd have to go to OH with us, but my Mom did say to bring him over & she kept him the entire day...whew. My SIL then arrived a little earlier, so we got on the road a little earlier than planned, which was nice. Made good time. Had the truck loaded & back out of there before 1:30pm. She wasn't totally prepared for us, which made none of us happy. We just threw stuff in garbage bags. Made her take the cats & litter box in her car. Part way through Akron she called me & said her car was acting strange. Why call me...call your Dad! So we all stopped at the next rest stop & her transmission fluid was extremely low. A kind gentleman helped too and told her where to go at the next exit to get some fluid. I followed behind as did that gentleman. I stayed back to let her deal with things (she wasn't alone...her friend Cody was riding with her) and the man had a funnel for her to use too. She was blessed! We all arrived safe & sound around 5:30pm. Got the truck unloaded into the garage.

          This morning I'm back in the kitchen...therapy! Making bread, scalloped potatoes & ham, and apple sauce. Need to get that truck returned.

          Good to see you back Bethina! Safe travels Sharon...where did you find a place to park your camper?

          Have a good one all!

            Morning all

            It's my day off and yet I was still up at 4am. *sigh*

            Cooked breakfast and got everyone out the door. Dishwasher is loaded and now I'm planning on my errand-running.

            Val - you can't do the mailing labels directly from Excel - you have to use Word and do a mail merge (it has a wizard that will walk you through it).

            Onward! Y'all have a good 'un.

              Thank you for the info, Pat. I will have to work with it hope that I don't do too much damage. It took me forever to input names and addresses. Ugh getting old and going blind isn't fun. Lol

                          Good morning, everyone.
                          Beth, it's good to see you back posting.
                          Beth & Sharon....happy camping to you both!

                          Our weather is back to normal. It was nice having weather in the 70's and low 80's --- and rain! --- for a while. But we are back to the higher 80's now, in the 90's this weekend. Close to 100° next week.

                          Well, haven't had much chance to deal with my mobile devices yet. But at least I have 1 iPad that gets me here. I have a mini-iPad and my iPhone to get back to. I have no idea how my computer is doing...it's not an up-to-date device any more. I don't think I want it upgraded yet.
                          My other devices were updated to IOS9......only then did I learn it has bugs to be fixed. I do not like the changes so far. But more technical people are making loud noises about it. Where the heck is Steve Jobs?----he'd never have let this happen. Oh well.
                          I'd like to strangle Spell Check......it makes up nonsense words, adds odd letters for no reason, or changes words that make sentences into nonsense. Unfortunately, in my posts here, it's rare that I can Edit those things.

                          E has a Red Cross appt today....so I have the day to myself. I need to do floors. When he eventually returns I need him to move furniture that needs sweeping under, or get his Dust Buster and do it the hard way....come to think of it, he won't be able to move furniture.

                          I have a new set of glasses. Could be used for wine, or any other beverage. They are the "stemless wine glasses", and I love the look of them. I told E the last thing in the world I need is more drinking glasses, but weren't these pretty?-----he immediately put them into the shopping cart. So I clean out my cupboards today and decide on which we are going to discard.

                          I've nearly finished my morning mocha. Need to plan a simple dinner for tonight. Thinking meatball/veggie soup, maybe a simple salad as well. Not many WW points in that at all. For the most part, veggies and broth are "freebies".

                          Maybe a load or 2 of laundry will be done today as well.

                          Have a great day! (Whatever the weather) 💦 🍂 ☀️ 😃
                          ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
                          Create a beautiful day wherever you go.
                            Good morning everyone.
                            Have been cooking and messing around. Have green beans and potatoes on cooking and have cupcake tins out ready to fill when I get the "energy" to make up the carrot cake mix.
                            Pumpkin, another saying for TGIF is.... Today God Is First.
                            Everyone have a good day. Barb, saw where you are to get more rain for today and tomorrow. Not bad for a place where it doesn't rain all day.
                            Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured.
                              Good morning! It is a happy Friday here. Kids are excited because there are special Halloween Disney shows that I said we could watch.
                              Hope your camping trip goes well, Boffler! And Bethina, too.
                              Donna, that was a fast trip! Moving is never easy, but so happy the car trouble was taken care of and others were sent to help. Therapy from your kitchen blesses everyone!
                              Pat, hope you get some kitchen therapy in with the errand running, too. How is school going for Erin?
                              I haven't taken advantage of any of the many check ups the Medicare people offer. I do want the one big physical, but need to find a day to schedule it. Wonder if my dr is open on Black Friday?
                              I need to start checking the weather for next week in Utah for my niece's wedding. And start packing...I am excited to see both my brothers and their families. But I will be happy to not travel after that ( till next summer.)
                              I better get going. See you all later!
