  • Friday ~ June 19th

    Morning all

Is it me or is June flying by? TGIF!

Got a LOT to do after work today - gathering all of our stuff to take to the Springs this weekend. Did a bit of shopping for it last night.

Still have to bake brownies to take this evening too.

So I'm off to get my workday done and get on with it. Y'all have a good 'un!
The only person you should try to be better than is the person you were yesterday.

    Good Morning!

Hi Pat! Yes, June is flying by, for sure. Have a great weekend!

I am SO glad Donna mentioned Aldi's yesterday. I knew they were building one in Paris, TX, about 50 miles from us, so I Googled Aldi's and learned all about the company. I guess the best news for me is that these Aldo's and Trader Joe's were begun by German brothers. Amazing! The Paris store is now open and I can't wait to get there. Maybe today?? I've already explored their ad.

I think Bill has gone by the wayside. We only got about 2.5" of rain out of him, but that's OK.

Hope all is well. Have a great Friday, Everyone.

Good Morning. I need more sunshine. We had some yesterday, but I need some in the mornings to get me started. I'm up but not motoring yet.

Yesterday was sort of productive. The kitchen now looks like a kitchen rather than a mine field. There is sort of an empty spot in the dining room now though it's going to get filled again with boxes from the basement & garage. My SIL called & took Blaise for a few hours. She was taking her great-niece to Chuck E Cheesy and ask if I wanted Blaise to go along. He's been talking about CEC for WEEKS, so he was so excited. I went grocery shopping at Aldi's by myself. Was in & out of there in 20 minutes. That's one of the things I love about the place. You don't have choices. Ya want pasta...here's one brand of every kind of pasta...pick it up & continue on. No debating & looking. Came home & cooked us a nice roasted chicken dinner ONCE I found the roaster & it's hidden lid. I KNEW it was around in the dining room somewhere. The lid was in a dresser drawer...LOL!!! I found a couple decks of cards while unloading yesterday, so Becca & I played cards for a while before bed. Still no TV. The idiot that I talked to the night before at Tech Support apparently never notated our call, therefore nobody knew they were to be calling & coming. Now nobody can come out until Sunday afternoon. I'm discussed with them
      .
Corky works 4/10's on this job, so he's now off the next 3 days. Hope to get a lot done with his help. Mowing the yard is on his agenda and getting my washer & dryer hooked up. Of course I have a whole lot more for his list! Becca's BFF is coming to spend the night before heading up to Bradford for the weekend. She won't get here until around 7:30pm since she works down in the Pgh area until 6:30. She then will leave from here around 7am tomorrow. Short but sweet visit

Have fun this weekend Pat!....you too Elaine!!!! Grocery shopping is fun to me. (((((Sharon)))) hope you are feeling better...will call soon.

Donna , would have been over yesterday But the Olds is back at the garage for another extended stay.... Pat. Agree .June is flying .. of course it is .. its my favorite month.. altho.. we still need a few more days of sunshine than what we have had yet.. and you sound happier this morning ... ... back to "our"Pat.

Elaine . I like Aldis also.. need a long list of produce from there closer to the end of the month.. get my house stocked for company..

yesterday I worked in the under-house garage area,, which is not a garage,,my storage area. has the thick orange carpet that was removed from the downstairs area living room). have area cleaned, organized . ready for the blow up mattress .. will be Pam's sons Bedroom during their stay here. Other grandsons have bedded down out there.. so can he.. important part.. its free.. today. ummm not sure what I get into.. gonna rain and rain

I assume we all have our Arks build?..
Take it one Day , one step, at a time.. cause that's all we really have.

Good morning! yay, it is Friday again! And I am here with time to spare!
I don't have real plans for the weekend, except the get things done kind that keep getting put off. Becky has a campout at the end of the month with a group of friends and we will be getting together the food and stuff she needs. One friend has tons of stuff and will take their camp stove, etc. Brownies sound right, Pat, so I think that will be added to the cookies I said I will make.
Today is a low numbers day. It seems like this whole week has had fewer kids, but with vacation schedules and All Stars in Little League, we have had a quieter week. Next week my camper guy will be back and my "practice all day" baseball guy will be here. Also, which is nice, the baby girl's mom has picked her up everyday around noon.
I have to go clean floors now. Turning off the ceiling fans is a must! So doing it early in the day is also a must!
I hope you all have a good day. I wish we had some of the stores you talk about!
Could you all take a deep breath and blow really hard and get some of that rain to move West? Thanks.

Good Morning. Took sheets off bed and getting those washed, dried and back on the bed today. Wish I could get rid of the chills, LOL here it is June and I turned the heat on to 74 and got a flannel shirt on. My sister said her sister in law had pneumonia last year and it took almost 6 months for them to get her over it and she doesn't take anything that suppresses her immune system like I do..I don't have enough antibodies to fight things off because of the Remicade. She said her sister I law also ran a low grade temp, was tired, run down, lost weight, etc. just like I am..so I will ride this tide out just like I do all others I face, with a positive attitude and push myself to get better..
Made beef stew yesterday with rolls, tasted really good..not sure what is for supper tonight, thinking maybe grilled chicken wings, fries and coleslaw. (Baked fries). Well off to find something to put in my mouth so I can take my meds..enjoy the day, overcast but not as humid, hoping to be able to open some windows..
Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

                Good morning, all. ☀️
If you can't have the sunshine, BE the sunshine!
😄. Some people even appreciated it.
Paula, you have Rain Envy, too? *sigh*. It's 80° at 6 a.m. here, and hitting 110° .

Yesterday I put shinier ribbon (I couldn't find holographic ribbon) in my garden, and pulled out the dead plants. Also threw freeze dried onion & garlic all over it. Phew! Will see if it keeps the birds away at all.

Today E is getting fasting labs done. I asked him to not come home til supper time. I need to get stuff picked up and cleaned here, and don't want him underfoot. This may turn into a weekly thing.

......and now I hear him stirring, so I'd better get ready to get started.

                Have a great day!!! ☀️

What a difference a day makes! Not weather wise..it is still rainy and gloomy and ditches are full and suppose to rain again all day today...but repairmen wise. Evidently after the buyers got the inspection report and while we were still on vacation, had a man come by and bid the brick work. We accepted their bid and the brickwork will be taken care of; the plumber sent a kid by and he will do the plumbing repairs some evening next week. Still waiting for the electrician but he has promised to do the work. Everything is pretty minor with the exception of the tuck pointing but now the worry is to get it all finished by July 10th. Took a load of winter clothes to Jon's last night and if I can't get movers on the day I need we will hire a U haul and do it ourselves. He thinks he knows a kid who could help load and unload and Scott is taking vacation that week to be available. The last hurdle we need to pass is the appraisal. Looks like after all this I may have sold my house....have signed enough papers to sell 2 houses! But still nothing is certain until their check is in my hand. I just hope and pray the repairs get finished without delay. Tomorrow my grandchildren have ask for a shopping day to pick put a Father's Day gift and 'could we please look at underwear' from my granddaughter. It will be nice to just spend time with them..if they can agree on a gift it could be a hassle free day! Have a doctor's appointment this afternoon so will probably not pack anything today. If I remove all the pictures from the walls they may ask me to repaint so I will just continue to pack boxes. Now for some sun and heat and I may actually start to sleep at night again..

Good morning, all. another nice day, a bit cooler this morning. Wish we westerners could share in some of that rain but know that it's not likely to happen till
                    autumn.

Made my cookies for the pot luck and got lots of compliments. Left the ones that were left over for the movies this evening
                    even though I don't go.

Today is clean the fridge day. Sis is coming tomorrow to take me shopping. May get a haircut before I turn into wicked witch of the west.

About all for now. Everyone have a happy day.

Would you believe the a/c has died already? Corky's going to see if he can get parts, otherwise our friend Rob is a heat & a/c guy & will have to fix it. Awwww....the joys of being a homeowner. I had a nice little list created of things I wanted to get while out, but Corky being a man just wanted to go in town, get his two items & come home. So Blaise & I are still here. On a bright note, he did get my washer & dryer hooked up.

Of course, only with connections you trust!
Sounds like you are on a roll!

                          Aloha all!

Hear Arizona is having a bad heat wave. Was in the local paper this morning.

Yesterday I was out and about and found the car wash so now my formally dirty car is clean for a while. With the salt air around here think I will have it washed every week. Not expensive at all. $6.50. A little more if you want it waxed. Also went to the bank and Longs (CVS).

Today need to find out about doctors or at least a dermatologist as I have a funny growth on my shoulder blade.

                          Have a good day all!

One job I did not plan on, but saw in the right light: dust, flour, mwhatever, on the refrigerator. Mi like the look of black appliances, but boy! Do they ever show dust, dog hair, whatever is floating in the air! I think the fans and a/c make it worse, too.
I made a cake this morning! That is how well my morning has gone!
