Had the computer off. Rain knocked out power for awhile. 1" in about 1 hour accumulated. Yikes!
Went out of town to Paris, TX yesterday because that is the closest Hobby Lobby. Loaded up on 1/2 price flowers for the cemetery. Great selection.
Stopped at Applebees for lunch. We each had shrimp and fries. I counted 30 shrimp between us. Couldn't eat even half of them and brought most home. John dealt with them for supper.
Lunch with a friend who is turning 85 Sunday. She is a barrel of fun.
Good Morning to all. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping and the air smells of spring, now that is a blessing from above, and we have many. Nothing on my agenda today, still staying close to the bathroom, the ole crohn's has me in its grip along with the RA. My uncle is bringing me some tiger lily starts and day lily starts original origin was from my Grandmother's house in KY. So tired of trying to think of menu ideas, need some new recipes, will go searching some of my recipe sights. Well that's all from me..have a wonderful day.
Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God
Good Morning! Yesterday was just dreary & a bit nippy, but today it looks like the sun is going to make an appearance.
Yesterday was good. I FINALLY plowed through the rest of the paperwork. Now not every bit of paper was dealt with, but the really important stuff was given attention and I even got a letter written.
I don't know if I told you yesterday about Kathy wanting to borrow a car for several days because she was lending her car to a friend that needed to go out of town & who's car was in the garage getting repaired. We did it begrudgingly. Well God smiled on us & the young man. Around 4pm the garage called & told him his car was ready for pick up....YEA!!!! Kathy took him to pick up his car & then returned ours to us. Blaise ask her if she was going to stay for dinner. She turned & ask me what I was making. I had no idea yet & ask what she wanted. She requested Chicken Squares, so that's what we had. Her friend John also came. She actually knows how to mash potatoes now...wow! She also made the salad. Today she starts her job at Meijer. Hopefully she keeps her mouth shut & just does her job.
This morning I'm taking Blaise for his birthday pictures. I completely missed getting his pictures taken last year. Corky is meeting us later & we are going out for Chinese for lunch. He'll take Blaise home & I'll do a bit of grocery shopping to pick up the Friday/Saturday sales. A friend is having an essential oils meeting today & I decided to go since I've got all these oils & really don't know what to do with them. I'm so thankful to have Corky around and him be so willing to take care of Blaise.
Good morning! Yesterday I kept telling the kids we would have the big play box (new vacuum) for their "fort" for thenext two days, but it would have to go on the weekend...finally realized it was Thursday, not Wednesday and feels like a bonus! Friday came early in my mixed up mind.
The interview went well and the new child will start May 1.
Red Bluff Round Up I swell under way. Slack was Thursday and today, tomorrow and Sunday are the big ticket days, with the big parade tomorrow. Highs will be near 90, which is way better than rain for the rodeo or parade, even though we need it. I can remember a few years sitting in the truck to watch the parade in the rain.
Donna, let us know what you learn. Other than using On Guard for wellness, Breathe for lungs, I don't use my oils too much for the same reason: I signed up but don't have anyone around here to really learn from, just go by Pinterest and what friends do.
baffler, speaking of Pinterest, you can get all kinds of ideas for menus with pictures and everything. If you type in a search for the kind of food you want you will get a bunch of ideas.
Have a good day, everyone!
Good morning.
Is there a little black cloud over my head? When I got to my eye doctor's yesterday, I tripped over the small raised part at the door. Landed face down, scraped my knee on the tile, and apparently twisted my other foot! The step is barely noticeable. Overall, I'm okay. I did need assistance to stand, and later my foot swelled up. I'll be staying off of it for the most part today.
E then took me to lunch, and then to my hairdresser. (He left for Costco to add to his clothing supply.) Her coffee/snack bar supplier was there --- we had a trivia fest going briefly. It was fun, but didn't last long. She had much to tell me, and the woman can't seem to help talking non-stop. She also has a "Look Good, Feel Good" service to the oncology and cancer patients - free haircuts and wig styling and skin care to patients who need these services, plus sample size products....and she got a few other beautians in on this bandwagon, as well as volunteer helpers.
The weather is really nice these last couple of days. Mid-70's. But temps will be rising to the 80's tomorrow. A couple more extremely (I hope this is a Weather Weenies" mistake) windy days next week.
No rain in sight...the 10% chances just don't seem to happen, so I don't count on them.
E still needs to finish that hole for the tree. He may have to rent a jackhammer to break through the caliche and rock.
Well, that's what's happening in my little corner of the world.
Have a great day, all.
Oh, Boffler.... When I need recipe or menu ideas, I pick up a cooking magazine, like Taste of Home, or one of its sister mags, like Simple and Healthy, for ideas.
Or, for a mixed bag of things to read in addition to recipes, "All You" includes health, beauty, fashion, affordable shopping tips as well.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Create a beautiful day wherever you go.
