  • Thursday Morning ~ April `6

    Greetings!

How is your eye this morning, Jo.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Janet, our roadways are lined with Crimson Clover right now. We are going out of town and I'll try to get a photo. It is probably the most beautiful spring we've had in years because of the unusual amount of rain we have been blessed with. For the first time in nearly 10 years, all of our area lakes are full. The roadways are full of boats being hauled somewhere.

Well, I have a new project. I've become addicted to Sushi - NOT the kind with raw fish. Cooked ingredients only. So I bought everything I need, and it all arrived yesterday. I may make a terrible mess, but it will be fun. If I have any luck, I'll take some photos.

Hope you all have a very nice day ahead. Hugs ~ ~ ~ ~

    Sushi? Ew.

Morning all Thought I'd report back on the Mississippi Pot Roast - I'm not a fan of the texture of meats cooked in the crockpot - but this was good. By the time I got home from work and picking up Erin, Chris had mashed potatoes and brussels sprouts underway. All I had to do was sliced the roast and make the gravy. Erin gave it two thumbs up and pronounced it a keeper.

Not much going on at work. Dreading next month when we start opening on Sundays (this will continue through mid-August).

More coffee. Yeah, that'll help. Y'all have a good 'un.
The only person you should try to be better than is the person you were yesterday.

Elaine will be interested to see or read about your sushi...I guess I thought all sushi was raw fish. Glad you are having a beautiful spring, think all of us could use one also.
Pat will have to check out the recipe for your pot roast, love using the crockpot if it doesn't over cook the meat.
Not much happening here this morning, my feet are hurting really bad, think once it gets closer to a Remicade infusion the more I realize the Rheumatoid Arthritis is getting worse, even though I get infusions for Crohn's Disease others get it for RA and I am pretty sure I have it also.
Supposed to take the motorhome for a few minor issues tomorrow, but think hubby will be on his own for that trip, a little to far from a bathroom traveling and I just don't think I can right now.
Need to decide what to have for supper, also need a trip to grocery store but not feeling safe to do that either, sure I can find something here to fix.
Have a good day one and all.
Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

Good Morning! Yesterday was beautiful...sunny...semi-warm. This morning it's dreary & looks like it's going to rain.

Had great plans to do lots of paperwork yesterday, but that didn't happen. Oh well. I did get the really important bills paid and have all paper stuff sorted in piles. I had a wonderful chat with Sharon. Last night I thought I'd make red beans & rice. Well my cumin lost it's zip & you really couldn't taste it. Will have to replace it.

Kathy stopped by...needed money for her uniform when she starts work tomorrow. Little did I know there was going to be a big favor she was going to ask later. A good friend of hers need to go to Cleveland for some work or school related thingy and his car's axial rod broke yesterday. He ask Kathy to borrow her car which left her car-less to go to work tomorrow & Saturday. If Becca ask the same thing we'd do it without thinking, but with Kathy we always go on the defensive. Found out she had hit up her birth mother last month for money & was miffed with her because she didn't respond to her when she ask her for the uniform money earlier in the week. Didn't know that. Guess that well dried up real fast. LOL! She's a single mom though & probably can't afford to keep shelling out $$ to her.

Not sure what today will bring. Hopefully some more paperwork.

            Have a good one all!

              Good morning.
Elaine, my eye isn't as bright a red as it was yesterday. Thanks for asking. I'm seeing the eye doctor this morning for new glasses, but she will double check the eye. I am seeing clearly from it and forget it's there. My sunglasses are handy everywhere, though. That's a general *must* out here.
Also getting my hair cut this afternoon.
Yesterday was really windy. Nonetheless, E started digging through the caliche to get that new tree in the ground, but struck rock. He will work through that later today. I got one greenhouse cleaned out for dismantling. Filled 2 big bags with throw-away stuff. Today & tomorrow will be cooler, good to finish up that chore with the other greenhouse.

Well, I gotta start getting dressed for today.
              Have a good day, everyone.

Good morning! I am hoping or wind dies down today...I am always on high alert when I have an appointment for an interview and just want everything to look as good as it can.
I didn't think I would like sushi and I love it. I have had both kinds (when spencer didn't tell me that I was eating raw fish). The raw is called sashimi and sushi is an overall name, I think.
Most people like California roll which has avocado, maybe crab in it. I you order it in restaurants it is pretty pricey, but nothing like how much it costs in Japan! I was shocked, but Spencer said it is almost an art form and very specialized. My DIL makes it and so does her mother. I hope you post pictures, Elaine. Did your kit include sticky rice? rice is another high priced food item in Japan! California exports rice to Japan...
Jo, glad to hear your eye is improving on the color. Sun glasses are my go to eye wear when I just want to run to the store without makeup! The bigger the better: Jackie O style for me. Hides all the bags and circles!
Have a good day and wish me luck on the interview, please.

                  Good morning all
                  !

Got my eyes checked by the retina specialist yesterday. No change. Lady came and looked at my Lazyboy chair I have for sell and she really liked it. Took measurements and a picture, then went home to see if it would fit where she wanted it. It didn't so she called and said she couldn't take it. The ad will be in the paper one week and if no one buys it I think I'll take it with me as I have always liked it.

Have an appointment with my reg doctor this morning just to check all my meds, etc and make sure I have enough until I find a doctor on Maui.

                  Have a good day all!

Good morning, all. Warm again and, dare I say it, rain is forecast for next Wednesday and Thursday. Keep your fingers crossed for poor old CA. Core of Engineers has stated that we have only enough water for one year. Corporate HQ has sent down an order to remove all lawns here in this complex. Soon to be desert, I'm afraid.

Today is our monthly potluck and we're having a late Easter meal. Managers are supplying ham and we bring the rest. I'm making Sweet Potato gratin for my part. So far a nice variety is on the sign up sheet.

Nothing else going on except I will have to walk down to the store to get milk tomorrow. No sense calling anyone to take me that few blocks and the walk is good for me.

JoG, sorry that you're having trouble with that eye. Hope you recover quickly.

Nalani, I understand about the chair. I love my recliner and don't know what I would do without it. Buy another I guess.

Maye, I don't think the birth date is what does it. I was born in Dec. and hate winter.

Later everyone. Have a great Spring.
