  • Palm Sunday ~ Sunday, March 29

    Good Morning, Friends.

Big day at church. Four guest speakers and a pianist. We are pulling out all the stops for food today because we are expecting a throng, at least that's what we've been told. Anyway I have 2 casseroles ready for the oven plus a dessert. This should be interesting.

It was cold here yesterday morning, but 75 by afternoon. I think we are looking at 80 today.

Donna, hope your stress level is down a notch or two today.
maxie, we don't have any yard companies, which is good because they sure would be calling us.
Jo, hope you are having fun.
Nalani, when is your move scheduled?
Paula, love that you are losing weight. I've been on a diet since January and the same 10 pounds are gone one day and back the next.
Barb, so sorry you are having a difficult time. Praying things will improve.
Janet, beth, Pat, Mickie: Have a lovely Sunday.

    Better hit the kitchen.

    Good morning!
The temps will jump to a whopping 45° here today. But it'll be cloudy and windy. Today we will visit my brother.
    That should be relaxing.
Yesterday's lunch with nephews and nieces went well. They are always fun. One niece is getting married in September 19th, which turns out to be "Talk like a Pirate Day".... They are writing their vows accordingly, ending with "I'll love you til the rum runs out!" It should be a fun wedding, I think.
Tomorrow is back to E's brother. I have much trouble determining if his wife is awake or asleep in her wheelchair. When I'm most certain she's asleep, then she's bound to start laughing at something that was said. The guys were discussing obits, and how so many people put their best photo from the past, when they passed in their 90's or 100's. I told E that when he goes, I'll submit a smudge for a pic and write that he was creamated! SIL laughed hard at that.
So, all is going well here, and the weather looks promising.
Have a nice Palm Sunday, all.

Create a beautiful day wherever you go.

        Morning all

Chris has a bug - he was running a fever and coughing last night - so I dosed him with Alka Seltzer Plus Cold & Cough - he says he feels much better today

Think I'll roast a chicken today and make dressing. Haven't done that in a while.

Chris volunteered to work today so I'll try to get the floors mopped too.

I'm off to make some breakfast. Y'all have a good 'un.
The only person you should try to be better than is the person you were yesterday.

Good morning, all. It's 47º this morning. Should be close to 80º by afternoon. Still cool enough to sleep with a light blanket... It was 84º last Thursday.

I woke thinking it was Monday and was surprised the manager's truck was still gone. Allergies are running high for lots of us here. Just wish it would rain but that's a fantasy.

Not really awake yet so I'm having to edit every sentence. You all have a great day.

            Good morning all!

Elaine I will be moving sometime in May. It all depends on when the moving company can come after I get my quick trip to Maui a week from today to pick out apartments and then plan exactly what Bim and I will be taking. Moving company will then decide on when and what size container. But right now I am still downsizing. Packed up all may small stuff (collectables) yesterday in bubble wrap. Still have some more to do but need more bubble wrap and will get some when next time I am out and about. This coming week will be a busy one for me.

Another beautiful day today as was yesterday. I did get a walk in yesterday and hope to get one today too. Our chapel service was canceled for today and we don't know why. Possibly with an emergency with the minister's family.

Hi, Jo, Beth, Barb, Pat, Elaine and all who check in.

            Have a good day all!

              good Palm Sunday to all!
Pat, that med must have done the trick if he is off to work! I don't need it now, but remembering for another time.
both my spa day appointments went well and both cakes we made turned out great! I made your version of Key Lime, Elaine, and Becky made a California Lemon Sheet cake. It tasted great, but came out so thin. More like a cookie bar. I wonder if the flour measurement was correct: 1 1/4 cup of flour to 2 cups of sugar. I want to try it again and use 2 cups flour. It called for Greek yogurt instead of buttermilk or sour cream. There were no pieces left so everyone at the shelter thought they were both good.
I need to go blow dry my hair and finish getting ready for church. I have a new necklace that I had on layaway from our local rock and gem shop. When I picked it up I was told it is larimar, a light tourquoise colored stone that is found only in the Dominican Republic. good thing really like it because I hate to think of how it might be mined...ugh. I hope they are good to their workers but I am too chicken to google it and see.
Anyway, I chose a gray top and skirt that will look good with it. (I don't know what I did to make this type look slanted.)
Have a wonderful Sunday and hope all your skies are blue (unless by chance Barb and I can get some rain clouds to drift by!)

All of Sierra's bedroom furniture is moved...her new room looks so nice and I think she is pleased. Drew wanted some things hung but I must say his taste leans to junk and is totally different than mine but we made it work. I heard Sierra tell him 'grandma likes things neat and clean and perfect and you will get used to it'. I guess having 'neat and clean' on my tombstone is better than 'mean and hateful'...just hope they don;t mean the same thing in one little boys mind, but I won't hang stuff he just wants hung because it is there but I will work on that perfect thing. Then we went to lunch and Sierra was handed a child's menu...we laughed and Drew told her to wear makeup. We laughed even harder because she was! My eldest son was carded at 30. I always told him it was a compliment but being 18 it is anything but a compliment. Going back this morning to supervise some concrete landscaping block being put down. To early to plant but he can lay blocks and throw rocks. Cold cold cold again this morning with rain this afternoon. Sounds windy so I will bundle up while outside.

Good afternoon everyone...didn't have time to check in yesterday morning, had to be up and moving, got home around 11:00 p.m and was ready for bed...this morning had things that needed taken care of, and thought before I even turn on computer I will get my dusting done and the spare bedroom sheets washed. I have a busy schedule this week, many to do things on my list that have to get done...ordered a few more clothes last week and they came yesterday, was happy about that...not buying much, but enough to get by...I bought Cornish hens when Donna was coming to visit to fix on the grill, but it was just way to cold, so will get those out and fix it today. Hope everyone is having a great day, sun is shining here but chilly and windy outside...about time for the races to start so best get going and finish up a few things..
Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God

                    Good Morning

another Cold Morning . in the teens.. yck

not moving very fast yet... stayed up reading ... I should make myself read in the daytime... but reading in bed is a delightful way to get sleepy... with a Nook reader .

not sure what we are doing later ...David was feeling so miserable all day yesterday.. all the signs of coming down with a cold.. but he is feeling better this morning.... but taking tylenol to help.. still coughing .. so does not want to go set in a crowded church.
if he is feeling ok around noon. may go out for good lunch..

so Have a good Palms sunday... I miss my church routines... but after 50 some years of regular attendance and a lot of them playing or singing.. I feel I can be forgiven some missed ones now..

see you later . it is now 12 hr later ... and I forgot to hit the post reply button , so the above was the 7am news..
we did not go to church.. D.had one of this tickly coughs.. so early to Walmart. and got all extra supplies ..then stopped for lunch.
when we came out from the lunch , the car would not start... it has a starter problem that has never been resolved.. Son Mark had to rescue us. bring us and big load of groceries home.. later he and grdau Shawna went back to our car. it started and is now home... There better be a sure cure to fix that problem .....Because I never intend to drive it again... I HATE a car that can't be depended upon to start!
Take it one Day , one step, at a time.. cause that's all we really have.
