I went to pick up 5 prescriptions today and what cost me $84 in December 2016 cost me $197 today. I was floored by the increases. Some is attributed to the fact that Medicare became my primary, I lost my Blue Cross Blue Shield and had to replace it with a Medicare supplemental policy Plan D through Aetna. And some of it was because I now have to pay a deductible every year for my medicines. I have NEVER paid a deductible for medicines before. Aetna has discontinued one of my medicines and moved another one from Tier 1 to Tier 4. So that was a $25 price hike for that one. I just don't know how they expect people to pay that much money for medicines when we have to eat and do other things that are necessary for living.
