When I learned about Vowels in school, they were a, e, I, o, u, and sometimes y and w.
My husband, the "grammar Nazi", had to look them up, because they never taught him about the w. (Which has an "oo" sound.)
In looking it up, not many sites mention the w. Many do include the y. Basic vowels do not include beyond a, e, i, o, and u.
So, how did YOU learn the vowels?
