  • Iceland is stealing Hawaii's show (Lava Flow)

Since late August last year, a fissure in the Icelandic Highlands has been spewing lava and creating one of the largest volcanic flows in the country. - Articles from The Weather Channel | weather.com

4 months ago the volcano in Iceland erupted, with almost constant earthquakes. The flow is is now larger than Manhattan. Right now it is a little weaker than when it began, but that doesn't mean it's going to stop. In fact, it can go on for years. This is its largest flow in 200 years.

( Thrill seekers are roasting marshmallows over the volcano. ).

Largest flow in 200 years? Incredible! Mother Nature may be a little bitchy at times but she makes some spectacular (and at times deadly) events happen!

I just saw this. Always interesting to read about Iceland. Lived there a long time ago.

Yes, I remember you mentioning that, Paula. You said their auroras are great!
I also recall an early teacher saying that Iceland and Greenland should exchange names. Greenland is full of ice, and Iceland is greener than Greenland!
I'd like to know more about it, sometime. Really!!!
