  • Christmas from a childs perspective

Do you remember how quiet and magical it was to get a snow at Christmas? You would not only awake to the sparkling tree with the tinsel and icicles and mercury glass ornaments and the smell of fresh baked pies and Banana Bread coming from the kitchen, but you had a pile of presents under the tree to dive into. Somehow Santa came without your hearing him and blessed you with so much goodness you just could not believe possible.

There was a big doll with eyelashes and a crisp yellow dress. White shoes and socks, and brown hair to match your own. She smelled so wonderful and new and she belonged to you. How perfect! That was not all. You also got paper dolls, a broom and dustpan and plastic apron and another smaller doll that was just as wonderful. You felt so elated and it made you glad to be alive.

You didn't hang a stocking, but you got a bag instead. A brown paper bag filled with the pretty hard candies, oranges, nuts and chewing gum. What a fortune! Those are wonderful childhood memories that will last a lifetime. Besides all that you had siblings to share the experience and they too were elated and to this day they still talk about those Christmas's.

What are your childhood Christmas memories?
