  • Garden update

    Yep, that rain we had last week made my lettuce shoot up like a rocket. It's now tough and milky and ready to bolt. I intend to save the seed, (Black-seeded Simpson) and plant another patch this fall.

    I'm also growing these other plants for seed: Onions, carrots, Cilantro, and tomatoes. I have about 4 or 5 different kinds of tomatoes growing right now.

    The Sweet Basil seeds that I sowed last week are up. I plan on making lots of Pesto and freezing it in baggies for winter. I love Angel Hair Pasta w/Pesto.

    My eggplant has tiny little eggplants forming on it. Precious.

    The row of flowers that I have in the back are getting ready to bloom and it looks like there will be a variety.

    I'm so excited that I can grow stuff in that sandy soil. I'm amending it slowly. It just takes time.
