I have been letting the hose by the bird bath trickle at night so the pipes won't freeze. Today I looked out and saw a small flock of Juncos and a Brown Towhee bathing the puddles. The towhee had the biggest puddle and anytime one of the Juncos tried to get into it, the Towhee would chase them away.
Later, I went out to fill the birdbath and found a cake of ice floating on it. Poor birds. Forgot to ask the apartment manager if I could have my bird bath. She already OKd my wind chimes. I'm not planning to take all 18. That would probably get the other residents up in arms.

I love watching the birds. We have cardinals at the feeder almost all the time and they are so pretty with this snow on. I guess we are supposed to get ice tonight. Uhggg!

Barb, you may able to take the bird bath. I know I could of brought mine here and a feeder, but I didn't. People have humming bird feeders out and I will put mine out in the spring. Buddy has a block feeder outside his room and I keep it filled. Which reminds me I need to buy more blocks.

I saw a number of humming bird feeders on some apartments. The manager even has a wind chime on her apartment.

Can you ask Joy to bring you one of the chimes and/or bird feeder?

I have already moved two wind chimes. I will see where she put the feeder. I see a number of birdbaths too. The apartment next to mine has a small one. Mine is huge so if I decide to take it one of the guys will have to help.
Joy will still be here for most of next month unless her plans change again.
