Pitch and toss day

I got to cleaning my desk up this morning. I didn't start out meaning to, but you know how it is when you can't find a thing, and then you have to move a while heap of things to look for it? I got fed up with the moving of things, so decided to just get rid of the things!

So, after a large amount of recycling, pitching and filing, I now have a clean and tidy desk. I have no idea how long it will last though...

It isn't that tidy, but way better than it was! Now you can all see where I sit and type. The keyboard is on a towel because it makes it quieter.

That pile of books on the left is just a fraction of the cookbooks I own. *blush*

Jeannie or Angel from Mimi's has about 2000 or 3000 cookbooks. When I saw her in Australia I gave her one with Southwest cooking.

Ooh Nalani - I can't match up to that many cookbooks, but then again I'm not sure I'd want to. I have too many as it is!

I love your computer space Lisa --very nice indeed.

I was going around to 2nd hand stores etc and buying cook books for a time --I got quite a few but since .I have given most to the two daughters -I haven't many left now.

I like the idea of the lamp too--it is sort of dark where I have the computer and i do have a lamp not in use --good Idea I just got from you. thanks.

Thanks Louise! My desk is in the alcove under the stairs and can get pretty dark, so the lamp was the first thing I set up after the computer. I'm not a touch typist so I need to see what I'm doing!

I'm afraid to count how many cook books I have, Lisa. Maybe a thousand at this point, because I traded off many to Paper Back Swap; Michael says that there are many in storage. Maybe another five boxes. Since I haven't used them, they're going unopened to the Good Will this Saturday.

Your space looks very neat, indeed. Much neater than my own at the moment. Wait, it's not my own, I share it.
