Oh, oh, oh!!!!!....Aunt J...if it's just GS, would you please show me how to do this? Or better yet....wouldn't ya just LOVE to make one for your FAVORITE niece? It's been 33 years since you made me that blue & white flowered one.
Maye, I think the white row is the same stitch as the granny square. It frames the square. Then, when you sew (or crochet ?) the squares together with with the white yarn, it takes on a slightly different look.

This is beautiful........it is a granny square w/ a daizy flower on top. It's much prettier than the regular granny square. After just reading the directions, it sounds pretty easy. I'm gonna try it. I wrote down the instructions.
Spring, after reading the directions I decided I would need help to start it...once I get going on a granny square pattern I can get it done.
pat, I got some old yarn out to learn this. I want to make it for my grandddaughter, Rylie for her birthday on June 4th!
There! I committed to it!
I looked at the site and she wants 50.00 to buy it!
I got some yarn leftovers and am learning before I start the real afghan.
Pat, give yourself a chance to learn it...then do it.
Anybody at work who can help you?
Spring...I went & looked at it again & I don't see how the daisy would be on top. I would LOVE to learn how to do this & I'm hoping Aunt Janet will teach me when I'm Home the next time. I didn't see the pretty one pictured above on her site but rather a pink & white one.
