What's Up in my neck of the woods

I gathered 3 eggplants from my bush yesterday and gave them to a friend. They are so pretty, purple and white stripey. I have a whole bunch left on the bush.

All this rain has made the grass grow like crazy and when it quits raining I've gotta mow again.

This morning I picked fresh basil and made some pesto. I'm going to make turkey meatballs with it, use it for pasta, use it for dipping sauce for Ciabatta Bread, and use it in my grits for bkfst. I've got tons of basil right now and it's 4 1/2 ft high. I will have a bunch of seeds to save also.

Hi...love eggplant...but no one I know is growing them. Will buy a couple soon....make some dishes I love. Personally I am not into Basil Pesto....but like having fresh Basil for cooking seasoning. Both dtr Monica and dil Shirley have been keeping me supplied with fresh herbs so far this summer.
