Good morning Rounders! It turned out to be a pretty nice day yesterday. I visited some of my neighbors and took them the canned Loquats & Apples. They gave me the Loquats last year and then another neighbor gave me plenty more and I tried to eat them, but they don't like me. So all year they have set in the cupboard waiting. I knew that my neighbors loved them, so I took them and had a nice visit. The man has been busy building. He has built a wooden deck beside the concrete pad that was already there and it's now a much bigger entertaining space. It has a bar area and a barbeque grill area made of wood. It looks like something I've seen on the DIY channel where they totally redo people's backyards. He trimmed out the bushes next to the Lanai and said he disturbed a 4 ft long snake. It was angry!

Our neighbors that were moving are officially gone. My friend behind me called yesterday and said she has a floater in her eye. I had never heard of that, but I went online and read about it. She has seen an eye specialist and has a return visit in Feb. She said she can see and there is no blurriness or spots or anything.

We ended up just picking up the Rx yesterday. After walking from the car into Publix on that concrete my knees could not take anymore. It's the cold that has them so stiff. So I came home and worked in the garden for a bit and enjoyed the sun. I transplanted about 30 of those Kalanchoe plants. They are so tiny right now and you cannot imagine them getting 5 ft tall and looking so regal, but they do. Next year it will be a showstopper on the Bank.

I noticed the ground mole is back sneaking into the garden, so I had to scoop up some of those grinds from the lawn and put them at the place where he has tunneled in. That should deter him! DH called S Bux yesterday and told them we would be picking up the grinds every Sunday. I decided I really need to work a bunch of them into that sand on the Bank. It needs nourishment big time. It's just pure sand.

I told my neighbor about the coffee grinds for their garden and he had never heard of it. I will take him a phone number today so that they can start picking up grinds. It's way less expensive than buying the Mushroom compost that costs a fortune. No, it's not instant gratification, but it will build your sand into a good rich composted soil eventually. I feel it is my duty to teach them about the benefit of grinds because it is free.

TexMex for dinner. I have nothing planned. We'll see! Peace & Plenty.

Morning..Beth sounds like a peaceful day. Karlinann your day sounded full! I have floaters. They do not bother me at all but the
first one was scary and sent me scurrying to a doctor. Hope Boffler is doing ok this morning.

Every drop of moisture went south of us yesterday so it is doing nothing but melting out there. Sierra met her other grandma yesterday and she said we had way more snow than back home. What a difference a few miles make!

Scott texted that he had signed the papers I sent him so they are in the mail. Hope I do not have to deal with the same teller when I take them in. Yesterday I did laundry and ironed. Worked on my afghan and watched the impeachment hearings. Last night I watched some of the skills competition at the hockey all star. Since the game is in St.Louis this year they had a lot of the old players back and I like seeing the old guys. A St.Louis grown kid representing another team took off his team jersey for a competition and under it he had a St.Louis Cardinal jersey! He got a big cheer and it showed hometown spirit on his part. The all star game is tonight. I will be glad when the season resumes. Missed my hockey this week.

Not much going on around here..to walk our yard we would need boots for the snow and mud. Maybe pizza tonight? I am just up this morning and worrying about what I will be eating tonight. Gotta make plans right? Have a great day everyone..a warm and sunny day doing happy things.

It will be a pizza night here, Maxi. The take and bake kind from Papa Murphy's. It really reheats well and we don't eat all of it and the kids love it for daycare snack.
Speaking of daycare I have a couple coming tomorrow to interview and see if (I!) and they want to change to my daycare. They really do not like their present daycare, but that is often a REd Flag for providers. I will be asking specifically why they want to leave to see if it is something that will be an issue here as well. There is a term "provider hopper" that means someone always changing to another daycare and it usually involves Not paying what they owe...I have a strict policy of paying at the beginning of the week for daycare. The parents I have right now all pay at the beginning fo the month (just like we all do with our house and car payments) so this family will be a big change to that s as they are on a program payment that pays about a month after the paperwork is turned in... I am not going to turn them down for that, but will be listening to our conversation with my daycare ears to see if ths is a family that will be a good fit for my life now. When I had Gary doing daycare with me and when I did it alone and was younger it was a different thing. Now I am pretty particular about the schedules I take and the people...

Loquat jam is one of my favorites! I think my SIL made it with apricots in it, but not sure. I have eaten them off the tree when I was younger but since growing up have not had any fresh. I should ask on Facebook to see if anyone knows of any here in REd Bluff or see about a dwarf tree. There were a lot in the older section of town and the one I ate often from was on my great grandmother's property. I thought they were an old fashioned fruit!

Karlinann, do thye charge you for the grinds??? Becky said the Starbucks in Sacramento did not charge at all.

Maxi, I Love the team jersey under the other jersaey! That was a wonderful move on his part. Made me smile for sure.

Beth, enjoy your day! I just finished a book that had me turning pages as fast as I could read. I need a calmer one next.
OUr temps are between 50-55 today. By 3:00 it starts the rain and we will have rain tomorrow. Going to church is my least favorite time for rain. Coming out is an I don't care time, but I would like to get in with hair intact and not dodging puddles.

My bedding all got changed yesterday and not much in the way of weekly chores to do other than the daycare. With the lighter cencus yesterday I was able to clean and dust while the three quieter kids were napping.
We are taking a chair to a donation site today. I got a new chair for the living room and will donate the other one (I don't like the color or the style) to a "free" donation agency. They give out to people in need. No one I know needed a sage green barrel (round) back chair.

Ok, enough jabber from me. Wish me luck: I am making cookies today and hope not to taste test all of them. I Do need to eat one form each batch to know if they are good enough to keep, but donna tested two and for sure I know they are good! A lemon oatmeal one and then one I posted on FAcebook with pecans, chocolate chips and toffee bits and coconut. I think the coconut will give it a really good texture.

Take care of yourselves so you can care for those you love.
Maxi, scope it out when you go to the bank and just make sure you go to a teller you want! It's your money!
        Prayers for Boffler!

Paula, they don't charge for the grinds. They are free at every Starbucks in the world.

Our neighbor's house has the For Sale sign posted now.

I trimmed up my Red Fountain Grass down to the ground so it can green up. It was looking awful.

I was out in the sun today and it felt so good.

Hello all! ANOTHER dreary day here. I NEED SUNSHINE!

It's been a busy day here. Last night I finally iced the coconut cake that was ordered. I was following the Alton Brown recipe. His icing recipe was a total bomb. It called for coconut to be beat into the 7 minute icing once it was done. It turned to liquid again and sugary. BLAH!!!! Dumped that, pulled out my Better Homes cookbook, and made 2 batches their way with NO coconut beat into it. The first batch of icing went btw the 4 layers (10" cakes), and the second batch was to ice the cake. I then stuck coconut all around it. Hope it's as good as it looks. The cake wasn't a soft fluffy cake, but rather a really dense cake. Hey, she picked the recipe. She's funny. She always seems to add on something to her order the day before or even that day. Well last night she didn't fail me, she ordered a pumpkin pie. I have yet to meet her. She has cronic pain, and doesn't get out often. Her husband is a sweetie though. She said she's going to start looking for cake recipes for me to make for her. I'm not a big cake making person. She has a lot of confidence in me.

This morning I got an order for an apple pie. Got that in the oven then started mixing up 5 different kinds of cookie dough while the pie baked. Haven't baked any of them yet. Some needed to chill first. After I was done delivering 4 pies to one of my restaurants, I headed to a town about a half an hour away to pick up something I got off of FB Marketplace. Came home and worked on making the gravy for the turkey & biscuits we are serving at church tomorrow. I won't add the turkey & veggies into it until the gravy is all heated tomorrow. This is the 3rd year we've made this meal, and it's always a hit. It's a potluck, so people are to bring other things to go with it.

I still have orders to fill. I have to ice a carrot cake & get that delivered to the restaurant down the hill from me. They want a Samoa pie too, but I'm out of those. While whip one up later and get it to them tomorrow. I also need to make a cheesecake for my niece's BD tomorrow. I was reading some people's reviews, and it just blows my mind when they give a recipe only a couple stars when they didn't make it the way it told them. Who uses fat free cream cheese? REAL!!!!! If you aren't going to do it right, then don't blame the recipe.

Well back to work. Waiting to hear from Sharon.

I love making cakes! The dense ones are my favorite! Unless they are sponge, angel food or that kind. I will be hoping to hear what kinds she asks you to make!
              Your day sounds delicious!!!
