Good morning! This month is flying by. Half way gone already. Going to be hot again today.

We did not go to the orchard yesterday but I did get the Halloween towels and the bathroom cleaned. Ordered pizza last night and went to bed early. Cookie how scary!!! So glad you are ok. We have a lot of deer around here and you always wonder and hope the guy who left the one along the side of the road is ok. We see them lying along the interstates too. So very happy you were not hurt.

Have laundry today and a meal to plan. Andrew and his mom are moving this week so not sure what the schedule will be evenings. She is one who gets it done. People look like ants marching with scraps on their backs when you work for her. I just learned to meander the country roads to pick up Andrew and now have to learn new directions. At least this is in town and this woman who has never been lost a day in her life understands I never know where I am...her directions will get me there.

Nothing much new around here..Cardinals are on a losing streak and those darn Cubbies are winning. But don't tell Beth. When a team gets hot at the end of the season is not good if it isn't your team....especially if it is Beth's team getting hot and not yours ....ya know.

Guess I'll go start the dishwasher and haul the laundry down. Sun is shining in the front windows later and later with fall coming. I like getting up and seeing the sun....have a great day everyone.

Go Cubs Go!!! They had a great weekend! Crossing my fingers that we can get back to first. Next series cards and cubs play at wrigley and the cards haven’t won at that ball park this year. So there is a chance.

Work last night was decent. Busy and fast! We served 880 for dinner!

Good morning.
I got a call at 9 p.m. last night from our front desk, a reminder to be ready at 11 a.m. for my appointment today. But I don’t have one today, it was confirmed to be Tuesday. Who is the appointment with? That’s tomorrow. So he cancelled today’s appointment. Now I wonder if my doc set me up for a port draw at the hospital, since clinics don’t do that. You’d think they’d call ME, not the front desk. I need to call first thing this morning when the offices open, and see what this is about. I doubt they’d leave a message for an appointment at the front desk. But I’ve run into some pretty stupid nurses here, I hate to say.
So the week has begun on the wrong foot already.

I really can’t think of anything else to post right now. I might be back later.

About that deer: deer alarms are pretty cheap and work! Friends who were regularly hitting or having close calls put them on and the deer encounters Stopped! We see them a lot and I had to stop for a doe and fawn the other evening and will get one for my car. Auto supply stores and Amazon have been where my friends got theirs.
bith had been in wrecks with deer and none since.

Woke to Rain!!! The sun is out now but it really rained last night.

Spencer called and he is considering bringing Joe out with him to stay here while Spencer goes on to Petaluma.
That would be fun and something we have never been able to do. Have any grandchildren stay over.

Anyway, he and friends had Great seats and Ravens won. I had sent him two NFL Ravens things ( shirt and hoodie) for an early birthday and he wore the shirt and it was sunny enough to get a sunburn!
Yay! Win for Mom!

The football Cardinals used to be in St.Louis years ago so we had the Baseball Cardinals and the Football Cardinals. Football Cards moved out years ago to Arizona and then the Rams moved here, bled the city dry and left. Very bad blood with the football Rams and St.Louis mostly hates them but that is another story. Anyway, that is why there are two different teams with the same name. They were both St.Louis teams years ago.

How nice to have your grandson stay and visit. Fun for both of you.

Hello! It's absolutely beautiful...sunny and not too hot.

Got thru yesterday with just a little excitement. Called the insurance company and have the claim started. It'll be delayed a bit because our mechanic is going on vacation for 4 days. I'd take it elsewhere if we didn't have an extra car. The extra car has been at Gary's all last week to get a rust spot repaired & painted. He was painting it yesterday when Cork called the garage to leave a msg on his machine & by golly he answered the phn. He said the car would be done today. I learned something interesting yesterday. Did you know they make the hood of cars so they do wrinkle back towards the windshield instead of just flying up and covering the windshield. One good thing. This is considered a comprehensive claim, so I have no deductible and it won't affect my car rate. Thank heavens.

All that confusion yesterday kind of messed up my rhythm, and I didn't get near all I wanted done by the end of the day. Finally just gave up at 1130.

I was giving Kathy the guilt trip last night & it was funny. When I was going to meet her, I had a basket with a loaf of hot bread, a 10" berry pie, a container of rice, and a large Cool Whip container of chili. The pie I turned a dinner plate over top of it so I could sit the rice on it. Well when wrecked, the chili went flying and the container was flipped over when it was all said & done. Since the bread was hot, I didn't put it in a bag yet so it had chili all over it, and some of the edge of the pie had chili on it. Kathy didn't want any of it. Fine. Brought it home, cut off the out crust of most of the bread and some of the edge of the pie. Both were fine then. I spent too much time making it all to just pitch it. Becca & I had a big slice of pie, and I sent the rest home with Sue today. I told Kathy someday she'll regret not scoop up the chili and not taking the rest of it home with her. Someday she'll wish she had her mama's cooking. LOL!!! She said to not make her feel bad. LOL!!!

This morning Sue was here early and we got busy right off. Mixed up 5 kinds of cookie dough and baked off 2 of them. She delivered the pies for me to the farm stand, and then on her way home, she delivered the pies to Mel's. Mel said the salted caramel pie was a huge hit. The cookies we are making for a wedding next weekend. Making cookies vs pies are like two different creatures. Have to adjust. Not too much of the pie season left.

Paula, I do think I saw some cardinals upon the northern part of AZ. Up there the trees in wooded areas grow thicker. And their roots don’t deal with so much caliche.
They might even be as far south as Prescott, or was it Payson - I forget now -, but the day we visited there I’d gotten really sick after eating in their big restaurant, but the trees grew so thick you’d think you’d stumble across Hansel and Gretel there.
