Good morning Rounders! We got a gully washer of a T storm late yesterday. I'll have to go out and assess things when it gets daylight. Maxie and others I'm sending you rain to help dispel that heat wave. It's awful.

We just ate cereal for dinner last evening. Easy, breezy and that's what we wanted.

I started a new puzzle and it's only 750 pieces, but it's very difficult. We still didn't get to the library. After weeding I was totally wiped out.

Today I will make a good meal, probably ribs and the works.

    Peace & Plenty.

Good morning. Today I will bake a sugar free yellow cake. Tomorrow is mom’s birthday. The cake has to be completely cooled before I add the pine apple topping. I will be going to Bible Study this morning. Mom and dad get here today tonight we start watching all the animals at my sisters.

Beth is it a drizzly pineapple icing? My grandma would drizzle it on a angel food cake and it was wonderful!! I never could get it to the right consistency...either to thick or to runny. Sounds yummy!!!

Morning! Today should be the last day of the heat wave with a cold front tonight. If Karlinann can throw her rain hard enough we should be wet too! Watching Christmas in July movies is not all that cooling...but they all have happy endings and it snows on command.

Paula, I finished Where the Crawdads Sing....I have no opinion at all. Still trying to sort it out. I have a Nicolas Sparks book that I will start now jut because I need my brain cleared with something simple. I need a new supply of books. Maybe I'll get on Amazon this afternoon and shop. I thought I had a stack of books...maybe I should clean my room! Isn;t that we tell kids? If you clean that room you will find it!

Boy I need to make this font bigger but cannot find where the thingy is. When the kids are here I forget to ask them. No plans for today. Yesterday Jon did take me to Steak and Shake for lunch then home to read all afternoon...ballgame later. Did a couple loads of laundry. Guess today I can iron. I think the ballgame is in the afternoon. Jon did not paint yesterday. He bought his supplies then came in and said it is already too hot. He is not watering until after dark. He has Andrew's uncle coming this morning to move a pile of free dirt. There is a lot of road work etc., going on around here and drainage repair with all the Spring rain and these guys will deliver a load of free dirt to the neighbors. Then Drew's uncle comes and pushes it for him. Pays to not burn bridges during breakups. My son is a really nice guy..must be his father's son! Scott is defiantly mine!

Well suddenly the font got bigger so some button I pushed kicked in. I found the bigger thing but nothing happened and now here it is. Another computer mystery!

Think I will go see if I can make it even bigger and how long it will take to kick in. Have a great day everyone...stay cool and have fun!

      Good morning.
I just finished my Cheerios, and waiting for a call from my son. He has a potential buyer for my car. The guy is supposed to be there this morning. I don’t doubt he will want to haggle on the price. I just want it sold and out of my way. That means a trip to Motor Vehicles to do the sale. I do miss driving, but if I did I’d be a danger to society.
Thats my only plan for today.

Its amazing the various things I found in the first yarn bin. It’s really odd. Which kid took the easy way out of packing and dumped this stuff in the yarn! I was surprised, because I expected only crochet things in the bin. I packed my yarn for the craft room I had. Someone really packed it down tighter with manicure sets, and other assorted items squeezed in. In a way, it’s funny, though. In their 50’s, and no different than young teens. They mean well.

I’d love to bake something. I have been ordering desserts with my meal this week. I don’t find their desserts special. We may be seniors, but we still have taste buds. Well, maybe an exception for the wine lovers here. I should share some recipes with the cooks.

      Not much else happening here.
Have a really good day! ☀️

Jo, do they have Grub Hub app and delivery where you are? Or just ask a DD or DS to bring whatever you are wanting the next time they come. Or just make that gingerbread you shared with us and the aroma will have everyone at your door! I do hope you are eating well enough and enjoying it, too.

We have chicken in the crockpot for chicken taco salad today. I bought some steaks yesterday and some beef short ribs. I am tired of chicken and ground beef. The daycare kids want spaghetti so that will be Monday's meal.

that book, maxie! I guess I don't get it. What I loved was the description of the swamp and the birds. But the thought of a child raising herself was very hard to handle...I don't read the "book club" questions at the end of some of these book; I do like hearing what others thought and sometimes just make up the end of the whole story for myself to move on! Tying up all the loose ends (aka almost a Hallmark ending

I have a stack of real books and a bunch of ebooks that I intend to read and then get to a point where I think, this is going in adirection that is too sad or too intense. Gee! I read The Firm by Grisham and saw the movie multiple times and no problem. Now The rooster Bar got too a point where I thought I know where this is going and I don't want to be with them when they get caught...Or, another one, I start thinking No way would the President of the US do this!!! ANd I don't want to go there with him...(political thriller, not at all meaning the current president) So, I have a lot of options. I started a new book to me, one gary had, but who kows how long I will make it reading about WWII and knowing form the beginning the book is true and about fliers that crashed...I am trying to get past my crazy fear of reading anything but a Hallmark style story, so wish me luck.

I have some ironing to do and realized it is my ironing board I do not like. too cheap and not level. Iwas saying something about it to my mom and a daycare child heard me. He asked what is an ironing board and could I let the daycare kids use it if I get a new one???
The things no one does anymore!~

Ok, I am off to take the few rollers out of the top of my hair and get my shoes and go to church. Hot and getting hotter so my fan is in my bag in case it is warm in the church. Some areas are cooler than others. My kids sent me fans when they were in Japan and this one I bought at Tokyo Disneyland: pink floral with Minnie Mouse in a kimono!

I hope we hear form Donna today and I hope you all get the rain you need and stay cool and happy!
I amnot wasting a wish on rain for us; just happy the watering is keeping the lawn greenenough.

I am so glad I am the only one who didn;t get that book. I also had a very hard time with a little girl raising herself, that still bothers me. I also read the Rooster Bar and think I may have Grisham burnout. I had Patterson burnout but am enjoying the books he writing with younger authors. I think they are writing and he is putting his name on them for sales. My ironing board is always up and I had to replace the iron a few weeks ago. I am not happy with this new one. It has automatic shut off but to restart it I have to unplug and replug it in. What? My old one I just picked up and it reheated...Oh well, nothing is made to last forever so I will have another one soon enough I guess. Rain predicted for later today and it is very humid but not as hot temperature wise. Heat around here is broken with bad storms..goodie goodie...not!

Good SUNNY Morning! Today is still hot & HUMID. Would you believe tomorrow's high is suppose to be 70. ?????

The last few days have been ultra busy. At least it feels that way because I'm lacking my energy, but I still need to plug along. Friday Sue & I plugged along making pie shells & getting them filled. Made a bunch for the farmers' market. My SIL friend Kim came late morning & we "interviewed" her. I know I hired that other lady, but she's not good at actually mixing & making the baked goods. I'm going to have her do the finishing jobs...packaging, labeling, stocking, etc. Kim is a home baker & I've tasted her stuff many times at big picnics. At this point she's going to come late morning Thur & Fri after she's done doing her cleaning job(s). I just need help. Think I'm going to make an appt with my PCP and talk to her about my lack of energy. I'm taking super duper vitamins & wearing an "energy" patch, but it's no longer doing the job.

Cork was off work yesterday, so he got to go to yard sales with me. We stopped at one before we delivered the pies to the FM. I was thrilled. I got a Longenburger pie basket for $10 and a Cutco lg serrated knife for $1. I used the knife to cut a huge head of cabbage yesterday, and it went thru it like it was melted butter. NICE!!! They must have never used it. When we were dropping off the pies, dark clouds rolled in & the wind really picked up. I thought, "Great, he had me bake all these extra pies, and I'm going to be stuck with them because it'll get rained out." Well apparently it just sprinkled, and he sold all the whole pies. Had some slices left.

I spent the afternoon making pies for Mel's and for a regular customer. Becca called, and her & her friend Rachel came down to swim and have dinner with us. I made a huge amount of fried cabbage & noodles. Had some last night, but he majority are going with me tonight for cards. It's better the second day. Becca ask if I had the stuff to make black bean salsa. I had everything but the cilantro. Rachel has heard Becca talking about this salsa, so the girls went to Aldi's and picked up cilantro & chips. I made a double batch so they could take some home. Rachel said it lived up to it's hype.

This morning we went to church & SS. After I'm done posting this, I'm going to go take an hour nap. I then need to mix up at least 2 kinds of cookie dough. Sue & I are doing cookies tomorrow for a couple orders I have. Playing cards later this afternoon. My SIL Mom doesn't like to drive in the dark, so we are going to start an hour earlier so we'll leave earlier. Works for me!

        Have a good one all!

Apparently there is a Grub Hub here. I’ve never used one before.
However, I do have a kitchenette, and I can quickly make things I like. It’s my way of avoiding the sodium that restaurants are generally too generous with, and cause swollen ankles more often than not.

Todays buffet - Sunday is limited fare - had nothing appetizing to me. I nuked some Shepard’s pie and sliced beets. I do have a small freezer in my fridge and a small pantry. So I’m good.
i was going to make salmon patties, but my 2 can openers won’t work on the smaller cans. Next shopping trip, I will get an electric can opener. I think my kids threw out my jar opener, so that needs replacing. They mean well, and they probably thought it was some weird object E threw in the drawer.

middle DD did bring me cupcakes before she went on her weekend trip. I put them in the freezer for my sweet-tooth days.

But it I want to bake.....definitely the gingerbread! I need to search my stuff for my pizzelle maker...or get a new one.
I did find a hand-pie maker I didn’t know I had. I can make pies to keep in the freezer. Heck, I can replace the fruit with tuna salad, or chicken salad, now that I think of it. Thanks for making me think, Paula.
