Good morning Rounders!
Well, my pcp totally listened to me yesterday. He approved the MRI order and signed it, but he still thinks it's not any ligament or muscle problem. He asked me about the type of pain and I explained it to him and he thinks that it is to the point that I need surgery, but he said I could get the injections and put it off for awhile. He told me that the Orthopedic surgeons are keen to go ahead and give a new knee, that they don't want to do anything but surgery. I told him I'm not ready for surgery yet. He understands and he told me he could give me a referral for Occupational Therapy and they could do the injections. I didn't know this before. I told him about the way the front desk treated me at the Pain Management office he first referred me to and he said he would talk to the doctor about them. He said he needs to know. They are right next door to each other and my pcp refers all his PM patients there, so yes the doctor needs to know about it and another doctor is the right person to relate it. Anyway, he told me to go ahead and have the MRI and then call him about the OT before I see an Orthopedic surgeon. I feel better knowing there is another option. I couldn't possibly have knee sx right now.
We made a trip to the library around noon and found only one puzzle and several paperbacks. I'm reading one by Charles Todd that's pretty good.
Yesterday afternoon we called a new AC company to come and check our condenser cuz it has been making a funny noise. We really like the guy who came out. He checked everything and come to find out it was not anything too bad. He said our system was okay and tightened up a loose screw. The loose screw was what I was hearing making that funny noise. We like him so much better than the other guy and we signed up for the maintenance where they come twice a year and check the system. Our system was installed in 2009, so it has a lot of life left in it hopefully.
I put my new string trimmer together yesterday morning and in the afternoon while the AC guy was here I went out to do some trimming. Well, long story short, I trimmed the whole yard. It's heavier than I thought it was going to be and boy was my left arm sore when I finished. I could barely lift it and I was so exhausted that I went to bed at 5 pm after taking an Advil. I should have taken the Advil before going out. I was going to go get gas for the mower after the library, but it started pouring down rain so we just came on home, but I will get it today. Our gas is $2.31 gallon. I will only use the string trimmer on the edging from now on. It's too heavy for my arm to support. I feel so old.
I'm surprised that I had enough energy to make dinner, but I did. The corn on the cob was the best part. I was ravenous.
DH was the one who went out with the AC guy and answered his questions and he was exhausted also by the end of it. I did not even think about that. He is still not 100% for standing for long periods. I wish he would have said something to me about it. I feel ashamed that I did not consider him and just went on cutting grass. Bless him.
Well, that is about it for this neck of the woods. Today I will rest and make sure DH has a restful day as well. I still have a load of laundry in the dryer and I sure didn't have any notion of taking it out last evening. It knew it would keep. Peace & Plenty.
