  • First day of April ~ 4/01/2019

Good morning Rounders! We were just up for a bathroom visit, ice pack, pain pill & water, and not necessarily in that order. I thought I'd go ahead and post to the forum so I'll be free in the morning to start all over again being nurse. DH told me the other day that I should have been a doctor. Ha! There are doctors in my ancestry, but this girl would not have been a good one. I have trouble remembering what I did an hour ago, let alone what is happening right this minute. He's a sweetheart though.

Yesterday was just beautiful and I had to go to Aldi's. I hated leaving DH alone, but we needed fresh food. When I got back he was needing everything. Wednesday is his first F/U visit with surgeon.

I made a salad and baked potato for our dinner and we both loved it. DH has not gotten his appetite back and light meals are the thing right now.

April showers bring May flowers. Where are the showers? I have Nigella flowers popping up all over. I saved the seeds from only one plant I had last year and they come up easily. The pepper seeds I sowed are not coming up. Oh well.

Today I am going to call Consumer Cellular and see about getting a generic phone. We are thinking of giving up our landline and having a cell phone again. We currently have the triple play with our cable company and they are raising their rates. If we cannot keep our phone # we won't switch.

I am manifesting lovely spring weather for you all and a happy week. Blessings. Peace & Plenty.

Morning...sunny and warmer today after being sunny but in the 40s yesterday. WE are getting plenty of rain Karlinann. You know those who need it the least get it the most! Rain may bring in May flowers but it has to get warm up a whole bunch around here first.

Cards lost yesterday but I got my laundry and ironing done. They play at noon today and Blues this evening so we will have a fast supper. I am going to run the vac today to keep the dust bunnies under control. They are taking over and frolicking in the sunlight.

Joined Sierra shopping at Kohl's yesterday. She is tired of the same few tops and I do not blame her but her taste and mine is a generation apart. Maybe more than one generation since some of the tops she is picking out look like things my mom would have worn. I would certainly dress her different than she is dressing herself. Especially since the styles are so cute.

Don't have much to say...kinda early around here with everyone leaving. Home alone has a nice ring. Karlinann your husband is so lucky to have a devoted and loving nurse. Your meal sounded so good...thinking pancakes tonight with afternoon and evening games. Something has to give and it will be meals!

April Fools Day...omg, Drew is going to drive us crazy after school. Have a great one everyone!

April 1st! the showers are here this week. so far it is not raining but all week it is in our forecast.
Yesterday at church I tried to take a picture of our "petal flurries." The petals were drifting through the air like snow would have been somewhere else. And all over the sidewalk. So pretty, but it didn't show up in the picture enough to post. I did send it to a friend in Utah who was able to zoom in and see the petals in the air falling.

I remembered to change the calendar in the daycare yesterday so I am all set for April. Especially since Easter is so much later in the month. I have already purchased cute bunnies for the kids. And lots of plastic eggs. No more hiding real eggs.

My brother (Delta pilot) texted me to ask if I could get away the end of this month for a trip to Las Vegas and the Donny and Marie Show!!!
He asked if there were other dates that might work better and I will give him some. Wow! I was just talking with Becky about ow I would love to see their show before they retire it. I am hoping there is a weekend or week days in une that will work for both of us. I am already taking off Good Friday this month and I hate to make it too hard on parents. With enough notice they can arrange other care.

I need a trip to Kohl's. I forgot that two of my favorite tops and a lacy cardigan were bought there. I heard that Ross gets their deliveries on Tuesday so tomorrow we are going there after daycare.

I hope Donna's tax meeting goes well today. I remember so many years when gary and I went together and I was still adding up things in the car as he drove us...he was always so patient with me and my unorganized life. As a teacher he was very organized and anything I wanted to really keep in a safe place I would give to him to file away until I needed it...

I need to go open up the daycare. I cleaned the table with bleach water and Clorox wipes Saturday because my wild toddler was doing a spit shine Friday with a wipe I gave him to clean while I cleaned other things. When I saw him "cleaning the table" I started to take it away from him, but he was really engaged and it gave me some time to pick up while we waited the last 10 minutes for his mom. I warned her of how he was cleaning so she could watch out at home...

I love the new cleaning cloth for the glass door. I bought one for shiny surfaces, too, but haven't used it yet. My black stove and microwave will be my test run this morning.

don't get fooled and have a great day!

I love when the tree blossoms rain down. But then I love seeing the leaves rain down in the breezes in the Fall. The only thing blooming around here are the daffodils but I am seeing some trees in leaf bud. There was such a heavy frost last night so hope the cold is not going to hurt them.

Aren't a lot of people off Good Friday?

      Good morning, everyone.
A lovely sunny morning here, 51° right now, but supposed to hit 82° today.
Yesterday was difficult for me. My lower back aches too quickly when I’m up trying to do something.
Yesterday I needed to sit immediately after a short shower....but ended lying down for 15 minutes before I could feel stable enough to dry my hair. I did next to nothing yesterday.

This is morning I go for lab work, then will see my oncologist/hematologist. That shoots my whole day, overall. But I’m feeling better today, so far anyway.

with that, I guess I will have some cereal this morning. And be ready to leave when E thinks it’s a good time to go. I like to be a bit early, because I don’t know how many people will be in line to sign in, or how many sign-in techs will be manning the stations.

I think our next “rainy” season is June or July. It’s very dry here, and those of you who have extra wet weather are welcome to send it over here. I will be glad to send some of our warmth where it’s needed.
      Happy April, everyone! ☀️

Thanks, Maxie. This one isn’t my cancer doctor, but I will be letting her know what was said. And why wait 3 months to recheck it? Seems a long time to have to wait.

      Thanks, too, Karlinann.

Good SUNNY Afternoon! Would you believe we woke to snow on the ground yesterday & even more today. Crazy! Not a lot, but still. March came in like a lion & left like one too.

What a weekend. I felt super lousy for about 24 hrs, but didn't have time to stop except to run to the bathroom every 20-30 minutes. I swear I would have nothing left to come out, but there was. It completely drained me. Saturday once we got home from garage saling, I started cooking. Well about noon we got a call from the Baptist pastor asking if it was OK if him & his crew came at 1pm to take down the two trees. OF COURSE!!! Corky was out here with them, so there was a total of 9 people working. They had both trees down, cut up, and cleaned up in less than 2 hrs. The pastor told Cork they'd be bringing a stump grinder and pallet loader to take care of the stumps. We were blessed. Well it hit me about an hour into it that I should do something for them, so I mixed up a dbl batch of choc chip cookies & baked them off, and wrote out 8 thank you notes. I took the cookies & notes down just as they were finishing up. Then it was back to prepping for Sunday. Made mac salad, baked beans, deviled eggs, egg salad, sloppy joes, and creamy chicken, and 2 veggie plates.

Thank goodness I was super organized, because we came home from church, and I just HAD to lay down. Took an hour nap and woke feeling much better. Our friends from Bradford arrived around 1115 and Becca came about 1145. We had a really nice visit and wonderful lunch. They left about 315. I gave myself about a half an hour to rest before starting to get the dinner food ready for cards. Popped in the creamy chicken, and made noodles, rice, and corn. It tasted particularly good. We had a great evening. We celebrated Becca's BD which is today. 24 years old now. They told her birthday mother the day before at the doctor's office that they would see her the next week, and she fooled everyone by going into labor around 2am on April 1st. The doctor called us around 5an and told us our baby would be born soon, and to go back to sleep & he'd call when it happened. YEA, RIGHT....like I could go back to sleep knowing our baby girls was coming soon!

Well I did get my taxes done this morning. I'm smiling!!!! Getting a decent refund. Now I'm not going to be crazy and go out & buy a new TV or anything, but rather replace the $$ we lent Kathy from our roof fund. Think I'm going to take a small nap before starting to work on the rest of the cookie doughs. Karate tonight. I hate tonight's schedule....645-730pm. BLAH! It'll be almost 8pm before we get home. Leftover for dinner tonight.

      (((Jo)))

      Have a good one all!

Hey, we are getting rain and it's a good steady soaking rain. Today is dreary and cloudy, but I'm thankful for that rain. This will make my seeds pop up.

DH is sleeping and he now has his pain med every 6 hours. That is excellent.

Upon further research we are not getting Consumer Cellular anything. The reviews were bad. Our cable triple play is not a bad deal and we want to keep our landline. They have not increased their prices in 2 yrs so that ain't bad.

          Thank you all! It worked!

We covered all the issues in record time. She told me that the contact from the cancer doc wasn’t serious. The point went up, but I’m still in normal range! In fact almost everything is normal range, but my premature blood cells are starting up again, so we will up my Fibrosis med. The backache problem “may or may not” be part of the Myelo Fibrosis, but in 2 weeks we will see if there’s any difference with increased med. Meanwhile we discussed which OTC pain med is safest for me, but I will take it only if needed. She has a prescription in the works for something like aspercream, which is even safer since it won’t be ingested.

We also discussed how sick I’ve been with different viruses since February. I just got over the last one, but my lungs are totally clear, and I’m hurting less today. She couldn’t believe how high my fever had spiked 2 weeks ago....all I wanted to do was sleep. Next time E will be taking me to Urgent Care with or without my consent if he thinks my temp is getting out of hand. (I had 104.7)
She is so very good.....best doctor I ever had.

Nobody is playing April Fool pranks, apparently. E pulled one on my doctor. One on the receptionist. Told a girl pushing a cart that her back wheels were going forward. She panicked! Then he explained it, the wheels are supposed to go forward. Two or 3 other patients enjoyed that, too. The gal getting a fresh glass of water fortunately didn’t understand English, but telling someone that that water was poisoned crossed a line. Then he pulled a stupid one on me, which they thought was funny. So I said,... “”I love you, E. April Fools!””... That got a bigger laugh and some ooooohs. My bad.

We stopped at the barber shop so he got a haircut and more jokes. Then for dinner at our fave restaurant. More jokes. He got soup and sandwich, I got a strawberry crepe. Yum!

Tomorrow we have grocery shopping, plus we will start at the gym again. My one exercise there is the stationary bike. The rest there is ropes and pulleys, which are out of my league and strength.

Thats my day, my checkup. Thank you all again. Have a restful night.
