Good morning Rounders! Yes, I'm back in cyberspace. Yesterday was the end of the construction. Yay! I felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders when they left. During the day yesterday I got several apologies from the tile guy. I think he got a good talkin' to from his fiancé who works with him. She is a very nice person and I'm sure she told him the error of his ways. We parted amicably, but I won't be referring him to anyone else.

I still don't have the mess cleaned up completely, but at least I am not feeling grit under my feet when I walk. I have to get the tape residue off the laminate where they taped down cardboard to walk on, but it did protect my floors. We love the new shower stall. It has to cure for 2 days so we won't start using it until tomorrow.

DH had a good doc visit on Monday. She told him the inflammation was gone and told him to stop wearing the boot and start wearing his shoes again. She gave him a compression heel sleeve with a gel pac to help protect his heel. She also recommended an MRI so she can see the level of degradation around the Achille's Tendon. He already has that appt set up. She also said he may not have to have the surgery to remove the spur for a year, but that he will have to have it done.

I found some more Ridley Pearson novels at the library. Hurrah! I much prefer his older novels.

DH made dinner last evening cuz I was knee deep in cleaning. He made Tex/Mex and it was good and I praised him for taking that task away from me so I could get our house is order. It felt so good to eat someone else's cooking for a change.

Animal Control was back at that house down the street yesterday. The cat poo is still 3 inches thick in their front window and when you drive around the cul de sac you can see it from the street. Ughhh! Nasty!

Due to the fact that the tile guy used an exorbitant amount of water to do his work I've turned off the irrigation system for the rest of this month. Thank goodness it's raining and my plants will get watered by ma nature. You think I'm kidding about the water. I'll let you know when we get our next water bill.

    Peace & Plenty.

Welcome home Karlinann!!!! I missed you...

I am up way to early to go work out....I will be glad when Friday gets here...Its been a really long week at work...but I still like my job very much!

I had a wonderful dinner out with friends last night..I got to see some friends that I haven't seen in for ever.

My parents were here for a bit and my mom surprised me and will be buying a new chef coat and beanie if my Chef at work approves...I will actually have one that fits...I am almost half way through my 2nd semester of the job and still haven't got a complete uniform from them...and Top I do have doesn't even fit and mom said she doesn't see how I can work in it...The only thing different about my stuff is it won't have the company logo on it. I really hope that chef lets us order me the different beanie hat and new top.

Try to have a good day everyone!

Good sunny morning! Going to even warm into the 50s today and tomorrow. Then Friday, Saturday, and Sunday they are predicting snow. Sunday is a birthday party at my sister's and I missed the last birthday party because of bad weather. Hate to have to miss another...winter birthdays are such a pain with weather worries.

Sierra went to use her computer last night and it did not work. I paid one heck of a lot of money to get that thing repaired and am a little miffed. Need to call him this morning. She is off work the next two days and only has class today so can go with me to tell him what is wrong. Hope it is the battery thing but the power cord was in...oh well, what do I know? I just pay the bill.

Speaking of bills our water bill has been high all winter. I wondered about that but then I guess you have to consider daily bathing, toilet flushing, dish washing, laundry....guess you don;t even think about using water but our water company has switched hands and the bills have gone up so is it usage or increases? I also think sometimes the dishes get washed twice because Jon will start it before he leaves and then I will restart it. We need a better plan! I once saw a magnet that said clean one top and dirty on the bottom and all you did was switch it to send a message. Where is it when you need it? Again what do I know...just have to pay the bill and speaking of bills I am not looking forward to the next power bill. Mailman will need a crane to left them into the mailboxes!

I may have to shovel snow all weekend but have decided to concentrate on Spring. Want the guys to make some bird houses to hang on the fence. My planting area along the fence is small flowering shrubs and I the one house out there is always occupied. The on line nurseries are sending out notices...we are several months from planting season around here but I can look and plan.

Beth hope you can get your new uniform. You will look spiffy. Karlinann, good to see you back. Good news on your hubby's foot progress and his cooking a meal! Take your time cleaning then relax and rest. Blues won again...7 in a row. We went from last place to 4th and are still winning! Such fun!! All good things must end but I am going to enjoy it since I also suffered through the losses. I am nothing if not loyal!

Think I will make a meat sauce for spaghetti which means I need to get that cooking...or not..may end up being strogonoff...kids like that just as well and it is quicker. Have a wonderful day!

        Good morning, everyone. ☕️

I am so glad to see that you have returned, Karlinann. Your posts are so uplifting. And I am so glad to hear that the bathroom reconstruction is done! Hope your hubby’s foot feels better with the shoe and get pacs and all. A year til the surgery, though? Seems like a long wait.

Beth, you will feel so much better at work with clothing that actually fits.

i slept in a bit this morning. A mostly cloudy day ahead, but it is supposed to be 74° today. That starts dropping tomorrow, with rain expected, and in a couple of days it will be back in the 50’s. I would like to see a really rainy day, but that doesn’t usually come through. We will be lucky to have it sprinkle. We will see.

Other than that, nothing much new going on here.

        Have a great day. ☀️

Maxie, we were typing together again. Before you get that magnet for the dishwasher, check with a magnet to see if it sticks to the dishwasher. The appliance may look and feel like metal, but may be something cheaper. We replaced our dishwasher with a Sears brand, and the Clean/Dirty magnet didn’t stick to it anywhere.

We had strognoff last night. I have enough leftover sauce for another meal. Same with the spaghetti sauce from the night before. Some things you can’t make in smaller quantities.

oh it is cold here! Like inside no power cold!
i started texting parents at 6:00 so they would know. Especially the baby that needs his milk thawed and bottles warm!
somw areas have power back but not us. Snow in Redding to the north and all their schools and our schools are closed. One daycare mom did not see her text but was driving off by the time I got to the door.

Thank heaven for layers of clothes and big fluffy Christmas blankets that were still in the house!
Karlinann, seeing your post brought a warm glow to my Frozen morning!
Having a good book on this phone sure helps!
reading your posts is the best! I may go sit in the car ( It just came on!
Know to warm this house up!
i will let the one mom who does not work at a school know. Ugh
            it just went back off
do you think I jinxed it when I said I would only let the one mom know?
Back on... please let it be!
later and you all keep having your wonderful
            sounding day!

Hey it's cold here too and Monday I saw a Redbud in bloom so this is Redbud winter. Do you have Redbud trees where you live? They are so beautiful when there are just hundreds of them dotting the hillsides in KY during Redbud winter. It is supposed to get down to 39* in the morning and this will probably be the end of this winter, but Dogwood winter is next and we'll have a couple of very cold days. I grew up with these winters and I can tell you that the last one, Blackberry winter was always the coldest, but that was probably due to the fact that it was May and you wanted it to just be warm every day. LOL! The winters are much milder here and I think they come a bit earlier too.

Paula, that Pegleg exercise is called Pidgeon Pose. My bad!

DH and I went to the thrift shop today and got a tension rod for the new shower stall becuz we no longer have a door. It was worn out and we would have to pay $600 for a new one. I do not want to put that kind of money in it. We will be happy with shower liners. Also, he asked to borrow my fan to help dry up the mortar/grout and it was so dirty when he handed it to me yesterday. Of course I had to clean it up. Why do construction people never have all the stuff they need?

We also found shorts and tees for 5 cents ea at the thrift shop. I have lost a few lbs and some of my things are too big and now I'll have enough clothes for summer.

Hi Paula....I wondered how bad your weather would be. Nearby cities to you are supposed to have 3-4” of snow today.
Sorry your power went out. I’m glad you have the Christmas blankets. PB&J for lunch? Without power, I don’t know how you will deal with the baby’s milk. Juice, thinned down? Good luck. I hope you get the power back soon.
You are in my thoughts today.

Apparently we are under a flood watch til mid-Friday. Really?! Skies are overcast, but it’s not dreary out there. Temps will start dropping some later this afternoon. I know rain is due tomorrow and the next day, but we will see.
Well, here it is a dry heat.....but a dry rain???
