  • Sunday ~ February 25

    Good Morning, Everyone.

OMG! Would you believe another 2.5" of rain. I grew up in Utah, and the snow would melt in the and the water would rush down the canyons. That is what it looks like around here. Except the water is rushing down the sides of the roads.

Don't think I am going to get out in the ick this morning. John has been running a low-grade fever ever since the MRI, and I know he does not feel great.

Oh! Cat showed up. Guess I'll have to go tend to him.

    Have a good Sunday, Everyone.

    Good morning, to all.
Hope your Sunday turns out well.
Elaine, it sounds like a good day for John to rest and relax, and maybe nap. Hope that fever stops today.

Yesterday was totally uneventful here. I did make a huge macaroni salad with salmon and lots of veggies in it. E loved it, and it was lunch and also part of supper.
Today we need to do some shopping. We need basics, and we need meat!

E was looking for something to see at the movies today. Nothing interested either one of us. So I’ll continue wrapping glass containers I don’t need, and when the container is full E can drop it off at Goodwill. They probably are beginning to think it’s Christmas there already. I’m showing the kids the best stuff theyd likely use. If they don’t want it, it goes to Goodwill.

Well, I want my hot beverage this morning. I can put off breakfast for a while. I don’t hear the new paper delivery person, so I have to peek outside periodically. It’s still dark out at 6 a.m., and that’s the time he usually delivers, though we’re not supposed to expect it before 7 a.m.

It’s 31° out right now, but should get to the low 60’s today. Good day for a sweatshirt if we go shopping today.

Have a beautiful day today. Think positive thoughts. 🤗

It is a sunny morning! Finally....sun! After almost 5 inch's of rain this week and a mini ice storm. We have been lucky with the rain this week because my sister received several inche's yesterday alone. Not as much as our Texas friends but more than enough for us!!

Another quiet day for me. Did work clothes for Serra yesterday and guess I will again today. She only has two shirts and has suddenly picked up a ton of hours. She says kids quit with no notice or just walk out mid shift and they are not replacing them. One of the school chums works at walmart and says they cannot get workers because people cannot pass a drug test or they leave or get fired because of poor work ethics. I just have a hard time believing that people do not want or do not know how to work and keep a job. Maybe we should treat these minimum wage workers a little better? But no matter the why I still have to do work clothes everyday because McD's only supplies two shirts per worker.

Nothing happening and nothing to say. Thank goodness for the sun and hope everyone has a bright sunny day today. A little warmth would be nice but for now i will take the sun and not push asking for more!!

Well where is the rest of the gang? Afternoon all! Another dreary one here though they are saying we are suppose to have some sunshine later today & sun the next couple of days....YEA!

Yesterday was another slow but sure day. The morning was spent going into town with Cork. He usually goes alone on Saturday's to pick up his weekly supplies for work. Rolled out all the pie dough I had mixed up the other day. Have enough for 5 two-crust pies. All but one are already ear marked for later this week.

This morning was church & SS. Just dropped Blaise off at his friend Drayke's for a birthday celebration/treat. Drayke is very quiet & sensitive, but him & Blaise get along pretty well. Blaise was the only one invited to go along to one of those indoor jumping places. They'll bring Blaise home when they are done. Not sure what I'll do with my afternoon. I need to mix up some filled cookie dough for an order. Already made Corky's food for his lunches this week.

        Have a good one all!

Maxie...they can purchase add'l uniform pieces, or at least Becca could when she worked at a McD's.

It is still morning here so I am ok to say good Morning!
chilly but sunny! and hopefully, not windy. It was a cold day yesterday. I wore a hoodie almost the entire day, including at the hair salon.

Donna, even though I make raisin filled cookies (or have in the past) I think I will order some from you to compare. And some ladylocks! The Best Cookie Ever!

Ok, I need to calm myself down from thinking about those cookies.
I don't know why I never got here yesterday, but I read the posts this morning..
Maxie, that drug test fail is all over. I stopped going to one fast food here because even I could recognize workers were not totally clean and sober. and that is saying a lot.

We have church and later I have my self reliance finance class and nothing else. I have some nice spring fake flowers I will probably take to the cemetery later and take my mom, too. She goes often, but if I go with her, I can do some raking or weeding and save her from a possible fall. (Also I want to get her to remove the pointsettias from my dad's grave!)

Ok, I better get moving. This 11:00am service gives me a little too much free morning time and then like the tortoise and the Hare, I end up fooling away time and rushing at the end. You guys are not the fooling away part; I do that with changing clothes and then finding something to eat.

I hope John feels better and gets the fever gone, Elaine.
also hope all is well or getting better with the rest of you.
Sharon, we used to buy a pig or half of one from the FFA students at the high school. We knew they were fed pretty well!
