  • It's the Weekend.....Saturday, Jan 20th

Good Morning! It looks like it's going to be another sunny day, and MAYBE a little bit of heat with the sunshine.

Yesterday was good in a chase-your-tail sort of way. The day started that way with Blaise letting me sleep in and missing the bus, therefore I had to take him to school. That took 45 minutes out of the beginning of my day. I did a little of this & a little of that, but can't say that I did a lot of anything. Took the pie to Aunt J. Met a customer in town to deliver her cookies & pie. Worked on eyeglasses for a while. Didn't cook dinner except for some fresh green beans to go along with Blaise & I's tacos. Did get Blaise registered for summer camp for the beginning of July. Found out the church is giving $300 toward each child's camp deposit, which is an increase. Nice! What a blessing! It's a shame more parents won't let their kids go to camp. It's the helicopter mentality. My girls have great memories of camp & Blaise is getting them too.

Met the lady who is normally in charge of the funeral dinners at the church last night. She was showing me where things were at. I then went to GE to pick up the hams & rolls that I pre-ordered. Spent the rest of the evening working on glasses.

The first part of my day will be spent at the church doing the funeral dinner. I've got a good team that will get it all done. Blaise is coming with me to begin the day. Corky has headed up to help Becca move the final pieces of furniture to her new house, and then he'll come pick up Blaise from me. Not sure what the rest of my day will bring, but I'm sure it won't be much, since I usually come home pooped from doing those kinds of dinners.

    Have a good one all!

    Good morning.
We have an 80% chance of rain today, and red skies this morning in the few clouds that are greeting the morning sun.
It’s below 50° outside right now, but we should get a60° high temp today. (Tomorrow’s high temp is forecasted about mid-50’s.).

Yesterday I just read my kindle. My main charging cord wasn’t charging any more. All my devices except the Kindle were at the brink of being wiped out. E dug another cold out of his stuff, but while it does work, it takes twice as long. I don’t think it’s a “lightning charger” like the other was. But my devices are finally fully charged. My mini tablet isn’t getting WiFi, though, so E has another little task now to figure out why. My iPads and iPhone use the same cord, so they took turns charging all day.

Yesterday we didn’t accomplish much. Today we’ll be busy trashing stuff.
I do need to run to the grocery store for some staples today.

Well, I need to consider breakfast.

Hope you all have a great day. Stay warm. 🤗 Hugs to all.

Maye, so does E. He fills boxes with tpwhatever he thinks we (or the kids, if they ask) may have use for. Then it’s a matter of checking the boxes which aren’t labeled.

He’s feeling his age. The other day he couldn’t come up with our home address ... a first for him. But some days he loses words. Fortunately, I’ve been able to finish his sentences most of the time, or just give him the word he needs. On a few occasions he has asked me where we were going, or where is the place we are going to.... and he should know. This kind of rattles him. He’s always been proud of his storehouse of knowledge. I’d like to think it’s just a temporary thing. You never know for sure til it whaps you. 🤭

Morning, afternoon...whatever. Been trying to work through some stuff the last week or so and it is trying. Not sure if it is just the way I am handling it but no matter it is weighing on me and I do handle things much better in the summer. These winter blahs are interfering with my normal happy self! I need a vacation and those temps in Arizona are looking good JoGee! I don't remember the weather getting to me like this before...must be that milestone birthday I just had. It has opened up a world of winter depression and an entirely new experience with the medical world. I could go a year without seeing as many doctors as I have seen this month! These appointments are cutting into my me time!!

Jon is off today and wants to grocery shop...that means lunch out for me! Sierra is taking a lunch two days a week and complaining about nothing to put in them. I agree that lunch supplies are in short order around here and I think one little brother is the culprit. He is eating like a pig at meals and then starts on the snacks. He will be 12 this summer so there will be no filling him up! But I would not give up seeing my grands every day even if it meant I had food for myself!

Sierra stuck her head in at the wee morning asking if I would wash work clothes for her so they are washing. She works the early morning shift on weekends and leaves very early...then then ask if she could borrow lunch money. So at 4:30 this morning I was given work orders and then robbed! I keep telling her I will be so happy when she gets her Big Girl Job and takes me to lunch. These kids work at McD's and still pay for their on lunches.

Need to switch out laundry and look over the store list. Hockey game tonight so have something to look forward too!!!!! Stay clear of those flu germs!

Maxie, I think it’s wrong of food services to not provide a meal for employees working a full shift. When I was about Sierra’s age, I got a job as a waitress in the airport restaurant. I worked a very full shift, and was told I could have either the soup or the special meal of the day (nothing to get excited about, whatever the cooks needed to use up quickly) at break time.
