  • Saturday ~ 11/11 ~ Good Morning~

    Hi Everyone. :P

Did not make it here yesterday at all. Got a call that our new iphones were ready, so we got ready and headed out of town to pick them up. I've never been so happy to see an old phone die. Did not want to spend the money, but these new phones are Amazing! So much easier to see, and only 1/2" larger.

Had a HB out, went to WM, and decided to come home. But since we had our tax payments ready to go, drove all the way in the other direction only to find county offices closed for Veteran's Day. Should have known, I guess.

So today must make a dessert for church. Got aLOT of recipes to go through. Apple something seems appropriate.

Hope you each have a very good day. Hope all is well with everyone.

    Hugs ~ ~

Good SUNNY Morning! Don't let the sun fool ya though, it is down right frigid out there. Had some snow fall yesterday, but it didn't lay....this time.

Yesterday was good...sort of. After finishing up dipping all the Oreo balls, Blaise & I worked on his room. We dumped every single box (cars, legos, misc, crayons, etc) and sorted them into their proper box and I pitched, pitched, and pitched some more. It took spurts of energy all day & evening long to finally get it looking presentable again. This morning I sorted the pile of clean clothes and got them put away. Now I just need to mop the floor since there are some sticky spots.

Had to stop for a bit & go for Blaise's parent/teacher conference. I requested the last appointment so that I wouldn't feel guilty if we ran over the 15 minute time limit. Good thing I did, because it ran 45 minutes. The academic portion he's doing just fine. His reading is as high as it can get. He's reading at an adult level. Then came the behavior portion. Not good. I'm going to call & make an appointment with a mental health professional and see what we can do. His mother's bad traits are showing their face.

Came home & btw his room, dinner, and making 2 pies for today, everything got done.

This morning we are heading 45 minutes north to look at a house Becca wants to buy. She wants our opinion and approval. Our little girl (22) is growing up. Not sure what the afternoon will bring. I really need to get some stuff out of my chest freezer so that I have room for more cookies. Some is going to Aunt J's and some to my Mom's. Think that'll be a good afternoon project. Need to also make the deviled eggs for tomorrow's pot luck at church.

    Have a good one all!

      Good morning.
Thanks to our Military and Veterans for their service.

The sun hasn’t yet come up here, but it’s supposed to be sunny and pretty warm here today.

Yesterday was a big chunk of time at the Cancer Center, longer than anticipated. But I’m glad E wanted to accompany me. I hated driving in the heavy traffic...it’s bad enough having neuropathy in both my feet, the joints of both hands make themselves known but my right hand fingers go numb too, plus I’m aware that my eyesight isn’t bad in the daytime but certainly not what it used to be.
E gets antsy (won’t admit it) when I drive. I do the minimum speed limit, which is comfy for me. I don’t give a darn if someone takes the space ahead in my lane. I think it’s stupid to drive over the limit to close up the extra space, only to have to slow back down when I get there. He kept saying “if you don’t close up that space, somebody else will take it.” I said I’m still in my own comfort zone, and don’t care that someone else moved ahead of me. That also goes for the lane I choose to drive in....I’d rather stay in that lane even if my turning place is 20 miles to go.....I hate trying to jockey into a lane the last minute, because most drivers won’t let you in. So he finds its best to just hunker down in his seat and let me drive. (But he doesn’t have to concentrate on semi-numb feet and arthritic hands as I do. He must have realized it, finally, because he said something to our niece about it.).
Was that all a rant? Sorry.

Today, grocery shopping for staple foods. Maybe turkey parts.
I’ve worn out my electric skillet, and my electric super pot is almost ready to give in; foods stick to it, and I think it’s been over-scrubbed. I saw a slow cooker in our garage, so I might just bring that in, and toss the super pot. I’d like to replace the electric-skillet, if I can find a Farberware stainless steel (no nonstick coatings). The one Wms-Sonoma sells didn’t last half as long as the Farberware did.

This afternoon I think I’ll tackle the job of fridge cleaning.

Hope you all have a super-duper day. 🤗

I am trying to think about what I did yesterday and not coming up with much that I remember. I did go to walmart and came out with pretty much what I wanted and nothing extra...much! The lines were not long but people were still grumpy. I let the guy behind me go ahead since he had one item and the old couple behind him got mad about it. Give me a break people....I know I do get aggravated at antics in the check out line but to let a man with one item go ahead is not something to stomp into another lane over. Those walmart checkers take a beating with the length of lines while corporate thinks it can push us to self serve. I refuse to self check out because I feel it is taking a job from someone and believe me no one would be working at walmart at Christmas if they did not need a job! Which reminds me I need to start a Thanksgiving dinner grocery list. Jon took a week off at Thanksgiving and this will be his first dinner on the actual day in years..he is so excited and sounds like he wants to do the cooking. No one needs to worry about a fight from me over cooking a meal!!

Sierra and her bf are going to the hockey game tonight and guess I am jealous. What a waste thinking she can get him to like hockey. You either love it or stay home and give me your ticket! And I really mean that! Besides going to games in our thing! Jon had his sleep study last night and I do not know how that went since he came home and went to bed. He is trying to get his self back into a healthy working order. He is 41 now and commented the other night that his dad died at 49...that would be enough incentive for me to take on a healthy life style if I was him!

Sierra told me mommy dearest ask if she would ask me to make her a scarf because it is cold in Minnesota...duh. Sierra told her I do not do any type of hand work anymore because of my thumbs. I gave that up 3 or 4 years ago if not longer but I still thought it strange she would ask me for a scarf and she should be worried about what type of a curse I would put on a scarf wrapped around her neck. But just thinking about it has given me the urge to pick up a crochet hook and the yarns are so pretty and soft. Told Sierra to buy her mother a nice scarf for Christmas. There you go, gift idea!

Cookie good for Becca wanting to buy a house...hope her dad is handy because he is going to be hearing a lot of 'daddy can you fix this'. Getting behavioral issues with Blaise taken care of early is a wise thing. You just never know what goes on in those little brains! Elaine banks were open here yesterday and mail was delivered. I think today is the holiday for them. I looked in the paper and there was no list of closings, county or state...Jon worked yesterday and it was a paid holiday for him as a state employee. Jo funny that no one around here wants me to drive them anywhere but when I meet up with my sister she automatically crawls in my car. I like to get in my lane and stay in it but I also like to drive the limit. My favorite driving environment is me in one lane and no one in any of the others either ahead or behind me.

Hope you all have a wonderful and productive Saturday...stay warm.
