Almost Hallowe'en, how on earth did that happen? Summer basically passed us by, we watched it from hospital windows, mainly. Autumn has better be golden, or I'm raising a complaint.
Nothing much doing today. I ordered groceries online, so no need to go out.
Spent a good half hour clearing Tex based detritus off our IKEA chair (he seems to use it as a filing, er, surface) so that he can try sitting in that. It has a slight recline so might be more comfy for him. The sofa was a no no, as was my armchair.
It is cleared, cleaned, everything swept clean around it, bins emptied, cat fluff evicted. The temptation to dump ALL OF IT into a bin bag is overwhelming but...mustn't do that.
How do men create such paper mountains??

    Good Morning.

Hi Lisa! So happy to hear Tex is home and hopefully on the mend. What an ordeal!
One thing about me, I keep surfaces cleared. Can't deal with it if I can see it. We have 3 filing cabinets, and of course I don't know where anything is, but it if filed. LOL

Cool down here. About 43 degrees this morning. Got the quilts out for the beds last night and firewood stocked ready to burn.

Hope all is well with everyone.

    Have a great day!

Change that paw to a Pug and you have my life! We have one Pug who sees something high on a shelf and tries to climb up to it!

Good Morning! There is a gorgeous sunrise right now, but that's all the sun we will see today, because 100% chance of rain starting around 9am. Hopefully Blaise's soccer game is canceled!

Yesterday was another busy one, but very good. We baked off 5 of the 6 doughs that we had mixed up. We took a break for lunch and went to check out the gas stove offered to me by a customer who can't believe I'm doing this all with one stove. We saw & we loaded it up! Love having this Escape. THEN we went out for lunch to a new place to us just down the road. Came back baked some more after unloading the stove.

Sue left & I kept baking. Got an exciting phone call, or at least to me it was exciting. A floral shop about 40 minutes from here called and wants to carry my pies there and be exclusive in that area. Fine by me....who else is going to know me. She had a few of my pies over the summer and loves them. She also wants to carry the angel food cakes that another lady makes for the stand. She said she'd send the shop's van to pick them up. WOW!

Cooked a decent dinner and had a semi quiet evening. I'm ready to change my name because I heard GRANDMA! too many times. He was suppose to be sleeping.

This morning there is suppose to be Blaise's final soccer game, and I'm praying it gets rained out. I know that sounds terrible, but after his behavior last week, I really don't want to show our faces. Though I told him I was bringing the Stick of Motivation with me in the car, and I'd yank him and use it. The mere threat of it is enough to keep him straight I think. He may have a friend over to play for a bit IF his room gets cleaned up.

In the meantime, I'm going to roast a half of ham and Becca is coming for dinner. She LOVES ham. I'll also bake off the thousands of tiny dough circles for the sandwich cookies. The goal is 70 doz of those little circles. I'm running out of freezer space fast. Maybe I can get Becca to help me, but she probably won't come until later. I told Sue we need a spa day, but then that defeats the purpose of all this work.

So glad that Tex is home & on the road to recovery. My husband collects golf magazines and has piles of them. I collect the papers and have piles of them on my desk. LOL!

      Have a good one all!

      Good morning.

Lisa, glad to hear Tex is home. Hope he heals quickly. E also has his filing surfaces. Must be a guy thing.

Elaine, that’s pretty chilly. We’re getting the high 50’s at night, and the days are currently starting to get into the high 80’s, which will drop to the low 80’s next week, if the weather app serves me right.

Hi Sassy. Casseroles are good! Yum! Love that pic!

Well today is wedding day. One DD & her DD will be there. Since it seems to be a CW theme, we decided to wear slacks and a nice top. Even E said he’d wear his nice jeans. Checked Google Maps for the wedding/reception place, and by golly it’s way out in the boonies, in some “events” building. (Not a place you want to get a flat tire.). Chances are we’ll get to see all nephew’s daughters and meet their grandkids. It’ll be quite an experience overall for us.

Well, nothing else happening til Halloween after that.
Guess I’ll pop an ego into the toaster and enjoy my mocha!
      Have a great day.

Cookie, you must’ve posted before I started typing. You sure lead an interesting and productive life. Looks like business is growing nicely for you. You & Sue should take that spa trip —- it’ll probably re-energize you both. A day of pampering at the spa! Yes!

I really slept in this morning but Hallmark is running Christmas movies 24/7 and they do tend to keep me up! I don't know if they have started their Christmas season yet or just a preview but I am a sucker for Christmas movies! Last night was very cold. Andrew's mother came in with the kids last night and she was freezing...and so was I standing at the door. He and his cousin were a bull...Drew was the head and his cousin the back and a friend was the farmer. It was really cute but kinda impractical for door to door. But they played it up! Now I am finished with Halloween. This is the first year I have not had a carved pumpkin in I think forever. I set out one ceramic pumpkin and never lite it. Halloween just came up so fast! Now it is on to Thanksgiving and I hope I give more attention to the remaining holidays. They have to stop sneaking in!!!!

Yesterday I finished up the pot of soup and Sierra ran out for sandwiches while I cleaned up the place. Amazing how picked up a place stays without a monster kid in the house. They just set off this dishevel aurora. Too cool to work outside so have no idea if Jon has plans or not. I do not and will be happy staying home and letting my credit card cool off. Shopping for the kids is about all that is left but I have to payoff what I have already shopped for others. Ok so I bought myself a couple of sleep pants and a blouse at Kohl's but that is all that is for me on those cards and I had a coupon!!

Blues won last night and play again tonight. Going to be a packed week of hockey. Good cuz I hate those long layoffs. Glad Tex found a comfy chair and hope you get plenty of rest along with him Lisa. JoG enjoy your wedding and seeing family. Yep, we have dug out the winter blankets here too. Sierra's mom sent a picture yesterday and they got 5 inches of snow already in Minnesota. Sierra has not seen her mother in 6 months and I think that is horrible that mommy dearest has made no effort for her only child. Jon says she will come busting in at the holidays and mess them up for all of us...we will see. Cookie how does your family stand the smell of fresh baked every day? It would drive me to be part of that 600# program! Good news on the merchant wanting to carry your pies. Maybe instead of two stoves you will need a whole other baking kitchen! AND if they cancel a game you just have to make it up later so just play it out and it is done!!!

No one stirring yet this morning so will go enjoy the quiet. Stay warm...high in the 40s for us today...

I think tonight might be the First Christmas Hallmark movie of this new season...
I have shopped for my WA grandkids, but told their mother to let them have the gifts now. One grandson is on the Autism spectrum and I figure if he is into windsocks and science experiments with them, use it now. My granddaughter asked for a dress that I think is more Fall colors so I just sent it now.
They can all get some money for after Christmas sales and still have something to open from me...
Now to figure out the MD grandsons...

Good Morning, yesterday was looonggg but knew it would be. Our boys played a good game but lost. Think the had beaten themselves in their heads before hitting the field. Football is a big deal here so lots of news coverage and everyone was going on about the other team was undefeated. Grandson did score a touchdown.

On the way it's a good thing both Candie and the guy ahead were really watching. He hit his brakes and started pulling over so she did the same. Older woman was driving on our side of the road. Ellen and Larry were about 15 minutes ahead of us and said she had pulled into the wrong lane right after passing them. She went back in her lane, only to move back into the wrong one when she was past us. Praying someone got her off the road before anyone was hurt.

Candie and Krystal decided since we were 20 minutes from South Dakota and they had never been we should detour there on the way home. Ended up at a Wal-Mart so they could get souvenir magnets. Got part of the way home, pulled into a McDonald's parking lot and slept for a bit made it back here between 3:30 and 4:00 am.

Oh Good, good Saturday (at home!) to you all! Even if I have a lot of things I can do, it is good to be here and have a choice.

I have said it before and I need to stand up and say it again: Hi, my name is Paula and I am a Stack-aholic. No offense to any 12 Step program because I could use one. I have actually attended a few meetings with someone who wanted a little support to get started and the principles are great.
Today, one of my find a minute and Clean items is the dryer top. Daycare papers and catalogs for kids to cut and cards, etc. are stacked there.
I am surface challenged, so if it is a guy thing, it must be showing up from my DNA...

I would love a new stove with a double oven. Donna, that sounds like a good fit and a great friend to get another one. And the spa day massage can be filed under Sharpen the Saw day so you are ready to bake and bake and bake.

Lisa, I hope the days calm down and Tex can relax into his healing.

Elaine, I still have a bag of pecans in my freezer that are in the shell. Ugh. Not sure what I just it on that word, but it won't let me fix it. Anyway, if the nuts aren't shelled, I tend to not use them. There are so many walnut orchards around here that almost everyone has a source for free and or cheap shelled nuts.

Yesterday I made two dinners for young families that had new babies. One a pot roast and the other chicken Alfredo (because the dad doesn't want red meat). It was the first itme I made my own Alfredo sauce and I will never buy it again. It was so good! The pot roast had the house smelling wonderful. Becky helped me deliver the food and then we came home for a small dinner of the chicken and alfredo...and pumpkin milk shakes from our closet drive through... the rewards of my day.

Because what should have been an easy day (no 3 month old) was instead, two toddlers wanting every thing the other had and one of them crying constantly about it. Oh my gosh, by the time his dad picked him up I was ready to quit! And he didn't want to go with his dad. He is his Mama's boy and I had to pick him up and take him to the dad, who was getting his feelings hurt...when the last child was picked up I just turned out the light and put up the gate and walked out of there. My Scarlett O"Hara moment of I will think about that tomorrow!

It is sunny out and that is a good thing. I have someone coming to take things to the dump for me. I have already been out and moved items together and decided not to send a couple of things (I usually move them back and forth a few times) and will go to Home Depot to buy some Fall flowers to plant after I take two dogs to the groomers.

I better move myself along. I feel like I haven't had the time to sit and visit here for awhile and miss talking to you all.
        Have a great Saturday!

Maxie, I am right there with you for those Hallmark movies. We have loved the Fall and Harvest themed movies they have been playing.
