  • Friday Sept 15th Let the weekend begin!

Good Morning! Now there is suppose to be sunshine out there somewhere. Yesterday was a total bust with clouds ALL DAY. BLAH!

Yesterday was dreary but pretty productive. After delivering the pies, I went to Bible study for the morning. I'm glad I went, but it kind of busts up your day. LOL! I came home with 6 home grown tomatoes that taste wonderful. Then it was home to make & bake. It was leftover soups for dinner. Watched Mulan with Blaise. It was the first time he'd ever seen it. My girls loved it when they were growing up.

This morning I'm up early baking 2 tomato pies for the stand. Last week I sent home a sample with a lady when she came to pick up her 2 ordered pies. She told me that her husband makes them all the time. Well I told her if her husband's taste better than mine, to please share the recipe since I was just learning how to make them. Well she came back yesterday for a couple more pies she had ordered, and said that mine were better than her husband's. Mine had more flavor. Made my day!

Will bake my pies for tomorrow. Sue & I are going to make & roll crusts this morning for an hour before she heads out to play in the dirt. In the meantime, I'm going to start working on the 5 doz ears of corn Linda sent home with me yesterday. I husked them last night, and threw them back into the refrig for the night. Now to blanch & cut the corn off. My Mom is coming over later to help. Good time to chat & visit. I don't need this much corn, but I'll find a use for it. Will probably donate and use some of it for when we do a meal for the homeless this winter. I've got October's meal already planned and corn wouldn't go with it I don't think.

I saw Noggie popped her head in. Awwwww......the memories. We were such a fun & rowdy bunch back then. The "parties" we had were fun. Maybe we need to throw one soon. See what kind of party animals we still have.

Have a good one all! Hey...where's Jostoy been?

    Good morning.

Yes...I've been missing, but I had a lot of things to get done before my back surgery. I go to my specialist today and hope that I get a surgery date. The last injection worked for maybe 2 weeks, and that was back in July.

I still have to close up my camper for the winter, but that will have to wait for a while. Just hope it doesn't turn to freezing before I can get back to do it.

The end of Oct. I go back to Branson for the second time in 6 months. Not that I really wanted to go, but if it helps my cousin's, whom I lost in July, wife to move on with her life, then it will be just a small contribution. At least I don't have to drive this time. It will be with a tour group.

    I believe . . .
that we don't have to change friends
if we understand that friends change.

Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured.

Good Morning, thought I checked in yesterday, guess I came in got distracted and left. Ellen and I just kind of hung out at her house. Think I'm gonna have to beat Larry. I'm glad he loves the Ebil one, but he is wanting to spend money they don't have on her. She has worms and he wants to take her to the vet, just basic would be over $100. Told him to pick up cat wormer from Wal-Mart.

Molly missed me, she was so excited that she fell off the back of the couch giving me loves.

Have a heart Dr appointment this morning.

Good morning...Yesterday was my nieces 13th birthday...she loved all of her gifts...The one we all got the most laughs out of was the socks from my mom...she just thought socks was the worst thing ever for a gift...LOL

My parents were here yesterday while the alarm system was being installed at my house...I slept so much better last night...the alarm system has all kinds of fancy stuff and functions..I just wanted one that will cops or fire department for me if I need them...This one even has feature that allows it to silently call the cops if I needed them to come and couldn't call myself because there was some one in the house with me...that makes me feel very safe.

          Work today..and volunteering...resting this evening...

Tomorrow I will be going to a dog park and volunteering all day at an event of some sort...

            Good morning, everyone...
How did it get to be mid-September already?
Well, our weather is in the 90's....pretty nice considering the kind of summers we get. I can easily do without the triple digits these days. I hope that our autumn is starting early. All the hot weather came early, so it might be a possibility. IMHO

Today E wants to make a quick Costco run, then we're going to Target because he broke the latch on my mini-iPad cover, and I want it replaced. Then whatever hits our fancy or come home.

            Otherwise, no big plans.
            Have a super-duper day!

Oops....sorry cookie. When I typed my post, I didn't see yours. So I merged the two, and for some reason my graphic stuck in your post. Go figure! I'm sorry about that.. but I'll not try to correct it because I don't want to screw things up any worse than that. 🤗

OK, I was typing out this potentially long update and had a slip of the finger and lost myself. Drat it all! OK let's try what I did wed/Thurs. I'll do a catchup post in the topic I started earlier...about where I am, etc, Big cheesey grin. Catch me if you can

Way too much socialization yesterday (Wednesday)!..Copied from an email to family

12 - 2, working with a older gentleman at the senior center, helping him write out some of his family history. Interesting, he is older, about 83 or so. I been recording him, asking questions, then transcribing the results...

2-4: Knitwits at the senior center, I'm now the official knitting teacher for the new peeps that come in. How did that happen? Also teaching three new medical students knitting. As part of their first year community service/interaction, the senior center is one of their choices. And knitting is one of their choices at the senior center, they are so young and cute! 2 guys and a gal.

4-8 hung out at the yarn shop and got some of my own knitting done. Also wed from 630-8 is TV movie night at the yarn shop..finishing the second season of Polark. Hey I didn't think it would be good, but I'm quite enjoying it. I was just loaned the first season.

Thursday, stayed home and cocooned with the 2nd season of west wing. Knocked out a few more wool dryer balls, but was generally quite lazy. I did eyeball the lace shawl project, but, nah not.

Today, writing group at the senior center and i might pop into the yarn shop too, and perhaps I might do some spinning later. Oh yes I have a spinning wheel, I learned how to spin in 2014.

Hey it is I, noggie, nogs, noggins, aka Beverly

Love seeing noggie's post. I am not sure if I have been here when you were posting or if I feel like I kkow you because of all the RT talk of wishing noggie was back! I learned how to knit at a yarn shop, but only know how to knit and purl. The one purse I knitted that had some details in it that were beyond those two stiches I had to sit next to the teacher and watch as she explained it.

It was so nice and cool yesterday the a/c never came on. I had it set to 76* SO it was a great day! I didn't have the ceiling fans on at all, either and that was with kid activities and everything that usually heats me up.

I am running late, but it should be a great Friday here. Two kids for sure are staying home and one may still decide to keep him home. The baby is with Grandma today so it frees up my worry meter a lot.

Donna, my oatmeal chocolate chip cookies turned our nicely and were given out last night so nothing on my baking list for awhile. Watching my temps so I can order from you!

Have a wonderful day and keep on posting!

Good morning! Boy am I late but I slept in!! Did not get home yesterday until the sun was setting and we had a wonderful time. Between the 3 of us, excluding food, I am sure we never spent $100 total. Now adding food brings the total up considerably but a person has got to eat! We also never hit the mall...just side shopped. My sister did pick up some cute things for her grands stockings but I didn't see anything that hit me. All 3 of us needed the day out and thoroughly enjoy it.

Have a beef roast in the crock pot so supper is cooking. Should run the vacuum and dust plus the never ending pile of laundry. The other day Sierra threw her laundry into the basket and included her dress clothes which I just piled in with the load of colors and, well, had I seem them I would have hand washed the shirt so let us say it did not fare very well. I really do not think I need to sort the laundry of a 20 year old. Last night she woke me to remind me to delicate wash her sweater today. I am her personal laundress? Guess so. I did read this morning that grandparents who babysit their grandchildren live longer. Does that mean when you have raised them you will live forever to be their personal servants? Ahhhhh! But today I am well rested and in a good mood so will dig out her sweater and give it special care while doing her laundry.

Have you noticed how the end of summer heat seems different than the summer heat? I mean, with the leaves falling and the sounds different. I know heat is heat but it just seems different for some reason. Oh well, rambling again...welcome back noggie, will go read your story. Have a great day to everyone. Where has this year gone so quickly?
