Remember I said the new stamps didn't work? Forget that!
In the sunshine, it does brighten up. To eclipse it, put it in the fridge.
On the last day of August I sent my DD a check to help cover extra expenses. I used a commemorative stamp on the envelope. It normally takes just a day or two for mail to get to her. Well, she just received it today! Apparently nobody tampered with the envelope or tried to open it, however the edges of the envelope around the stupid stamp was well worn. We expect that someone put the envelope in the fridge to change it back, and forgot about it for a while, too.
I'm not sure any of that was very legal of the USPS, holding up the mail for 2-1/2 weeks.
However, our GD had something like a nervous breakdown, exacerbated by paranoia/drugs, and that check was needed! We ended up wiring our DD the money a couple days ago and paying the fee for cancelling the check because we thought it was possibly stolen. (GD is now hospitalized and under observation for a week.)
