Good Morning! A cloudy one & suppose to rain I think.

Yesterday was good for the most part. Just lacked energy for a while. Used the carpet scrubber to clean the rug out on the little porch....looks so much better. Then tackled Blaise's room. I had been warning him that if I had to do it, that everything on the floor would disappear, and it did. I got one of the big blanket boxes and loaded it up. Gave him the same warning this morning. Then dug out the box of winter clothes and put that stuff in his closet. I'm not ready to put away the summer clothes yet, because next week it's suppose to hit the 80's. Those clothes are still in his dresser drawers.

Got a request for a peach pie and they ran out of pies down at the stand, so I made & took down 6 pies mid-afternoon. I then got started on pies for today & making fillings. Lew wanted 8 for today, but I'm starting him out at 5 and when I bring down an ordered pie around 11am, we'll see if he needs more. My brother Ray came over and had dinner with us last night, and then the guys went down and cut down the shrubs on the one side of the pool fence. Looks so much better.

This morning is pies. Sue is coming & working outside. Once I get the pie ready for the doctors' office, I'll be running into town to drop it off, pick up more mulch, and some groceries. Becca is coming down this afternoon and staying for dinner. Nice! Tonight is Sign-Up night for scouting, and Blaise would like to join the Cub Scouts. OK....I ask/suggested he do it. It's a good thing to be part of. Might teach him something.

    Great news Bethina!!!!

    Have a good one all!

      Good morning, all.
E measured 106° yesterday, the forecast was 104°....today's forecast is 103°, then tomorrow starts the run of temps in the 90's.

While he got his MRI yesterday, I did some walking. On the far side of the parking lot is Trader Joe's so I hiked over there. I went up and down all the aisles 3x, got free samples of cherry cider (yum!!) and red grapes; then walked back and put my purchases (all non perishable) in the car, then halfway back to the store to put the cart in the collection area, then back to the radiology building. That took an hour, and E had just finished up, ready to leave. He'll get his results on a Monday. I think his chart indicated it may be the rotator cuff, but from what the doc said last time surgery is really iffy for someone his age. Then we went to Costco for another hour for staples. Then on to the Olive Garden for lunch. Couldn't find a close parking spot, and the sun was really hot enough to make me sweat! I got a bit dizzy but fortunately got a seat about then. Then home.

Today is my turn to see the doctor. A follow up on the colonoscopy portion of my medical status. So glad that's all behind me. But he's obliged to check and see how I'm faring after all that.

And that's the plan for today.
Off to get my breakfast, and decide if I want tea or mocha today.

Beth, great news on your mom!!!

      Have a great day, everyone.

Good Morning everyone. Ellen is off tomorrow and asked me to spend the night tonight and hang out with her tomorrow. She said she thinks the Ebil one misses me, not sure about that, she has become pretty attached to them.

Beth great news about our mom.

Donna a friend would do that with her kids and then slowly start returning them over time, they would think they had all new toys.

Candie and Krystal took Molly for a walk and found a medium sized puppy, well it found them, it had a collar but no tags so they walked around to see if they could find it's home, a couple of people told them it had been roaming for at least a week. Candie took it to the humane shelter and they gave her a bunch of crap over it. She told them what happened and rather leave it wondering to get hit by a car she brought it there. The people kept insisting that she needed to fill out a bunch of paperwork and pay a fee since she was surrendering it. She finally told them that she was just going to leave it outside, she wasn't paying for trying to help, that she wasn't surrendering it because it wasn't her dog. Anyhow they finally took the dog.

Wow! Jo, that was a lot of walking! Walmart is my walking store. It is one of the large Super Centers. The stores you went to are all up in Redding, 30 miles away.

I am mixing up cookie dough to bake later after daycare. I was asked to provide them for a luncheon Friday and the woman in charge wants to get them tomorrow. So, if all goes well, I will have the dough mixed and chilled and then Becky can bake some while I am at my mandatory food program meeting. There is a wonderful Christmas floral class that I had signed up for but we were told there will be no excuses granted for not making this meeting and No reimbursement for food for daycare if you don't go. Next year I may get smart and go to the Spring meeting in the other county. Besides the new food guidelines (that means mandatory changes!) we will also receive the audit report for the State and Federal visit that we had this spring and I was one that got a surprise visit. So, I am anxious to see what the report will say and see if I got any negatives. It won't mention anyone by name but you can usually tell if they are focusing on you, by the meal they mention. She was at my house for lunch.

Last January the state decided we can serve only 1% or skim milk to the children over 2. Like 2 and up have to drink 1% milk! a pediatritian I interviewed said she doesn't even drink 1%. (I didn't have room for her child on the part time schedule she was going to need.)
WE are a little anxious to see the new regulations . I know a few: no fried foods, must serve multigrain bread...our schools have to serve a minimum amount of different colored vegetables and I am waiting to see if they mandate that to us. I don't have one overweight child in the daycare and haven't for years, so it is a little sad to have to feed them like this. I always have whole milk on hand (under 2 years old can have it) and somehow the big kids always get some

Trash trucks are going around and the week is moving along. Florida relatives' houses are still without power but the townhouse is powered up. I am not sure who has gone back to work, yet. My brother said the spacecraft was secured and the one that could be sent up a few days early, was launched to avoid the hurricane. They aren't posting much and I know they are super busy. My brother helps anyone who needs help.

Hope the day goes well for you all!
donna, give my best to Maye!

Paula, I think instead of all the food guidelines they need a few "home" guidelines. No or limited video games and tv. Kids need to get out and PLAY. I don't get the whole playdate thing if my kids wanted to play with a friend they or I picked up the phone, or they walked down and knocked on the door. Now people insist the kids stay in their own yard.

Good morning...very cloudy this morning but a warm up is suppose to be on the way. Had a small shower yesterday afternoon and skies look like they could produce something this morning. Got a surprise call from my sister yesterday and her best friend, our other sister, wants to get away so we are shopping tomorrow. Meeting for breakfast, naturally, and ending with a late lunch. I am so ready! This will set my painting schedule back a day but Jon is off this weekend and I am pretty sure realizes this project is top on my list! Thinking I may go get a pedi today and, of course, something for supper. Last night we had breakfast and everyone was home and ate like piglets! Tonight is the band meeting for all beginners so need something quick.

Woke with hives again this early morning but took a pill immediately and they cleared up quickly. They were even on my toes! Wish I knew what was triggering them. Another thing to add to my list of complaints when I next see the doctor.

I swear writing in these paragraphs is breaking up my thought process. It is hard to remember not to ramble on!

Last night I think we made a break through on reading. Andrew had aggravated me to the point where I yelled and then over emphasized sounding out words. I know, sarcasm on an 11 year old is kinda low, but I had had it. Next thing you know he is trying to sound out words. Something he should have done in 1st grade. Jon, who is always there when we read, gave me gesture so he caught it too. Tomorrow I will make the ladies go into the huge book store at the mall and look around. I juggle reading several books at a time and Andrew has chosen to do the same. He wants to read DOGMAN (do not ask!) which is more comic book style and I am pushing the phase reading books that are more structured so we have been alternating books. I am not sure if that is helpful but we both are getting our way and you know this grandma loves things her way! You know "save time and do it my way" is my motto. If only the world would listen!!

Off to shower then stand in line for a pedi. Probably the seasons last...boo hoo! Beth good news on your mom, oh, cookies I hated scouts but you are a nice and social grandma so may enjoy them! Paula, so many regulations! Lots of walking Jo, good for you, bet we will heading to the Olive Garden ourselves tomorrow. Have a great one all. Cards are still winning and it the hot September team that moves on!! Hello determined, almost missed you.

I know EXACTLY what & who Dogman is. Got it for Blaise this summer. He loves reading those kinds of books. I think it's the same author that writes the Captain Underpants series.

Paula, I can't believe the mandatory changes in the kids' foods! Will there be a ratatouille day to cover the rainbow of veggies? No processed meats like sausage or hot dogs? Tofu day? They can go to extremes on that. The varieties of bell peppers can help with veggie colors, I guess, even tomatoes come in colors. I saw a packet of tomato seeds for cherry-heirloom tomatoes that are a wide variety of colors. But what a headache having to deal with "mandatory" changes. I think there's a recipe for carrot-cake cookies...is that healthy for the new standards? Geez.

Speaking of trash pickups, E brings back the neighbors' barrels, on both sides of us, when he brings ours off the street. He says from the looks (and smells) of all the open barrels, we must be the only house in the neighborhood that bags the trash. Much of the stuff that falls into the street blows our way, and E is always, daily, picking up the stuff that lands in our yard. Nobody cleans up their stuff that hits the ground. Kinda makes every day a "trash day". Well, enough ranting.

Time for me to take a shower, I think.
