  • Friday Aug 25 Good Morning!

Good Morning! Looks like we are going to get a sunrise view today. Man is it chilly though.

Yesterday was good. Stayed home and got lots done. Had the counter tops cleaned off & ready to give Blaise my full attention when he got home. Guess what? He didn't want my attention after 5 minutes, so I started supper. I grilled lots of chicken & hamburgers so we'd have leftovers. Did up some corn on the cob & new red potatoes to go with it. YUM!

Kathy called. Mike's moving out. No surprise there, but she was a little surprised. I told her you can't always be fighting with someone and them want to stick around. It's the same story over & over again. Now let's see how fast she moves another guy in. Fortunately the only thing Mike is taking with him is his game system and clothes. He was a very nice one. At least Corky would talk to this one.

This morning it's baking, baking, and more baking. I've got almost all the pies ready to go in the oven except for the apple ones. Now to prep for tomorrow's pies. Things were very organized this week, and so much calmer & not as exhausting. Getting into my groove. Sue is coming today, but she'll be planting flowers.

Thank you all for the well wishes yesterday.

    Have a good one all!

    Good morning ,
sure is chilly .. like 51 degrees ..but the sun is shining!...

had to get up and moving early today.. D. has c-scan at 9:30. local health system facility . and I have lab work . a 2 min thing, at the same place.. He still has the jabby sore spot.. but not severe, because he takes pain pills for his back and that is keeping any kidney stone pain under control.. being Friday.. have no idea when the results will reach his Dr. and when or what Dr. will say when it does.

have hair to fix , so better get moving.. see you all later.

Take it one Day , one step, at a time.. cause that's all we really have.

      Good Morning.

Nephew Frank was driving to Houston a few years ago. Pain started between his shoulder blades. By the time they got to destination, they went straight to hospital. Gall bladder had to come out. Who knew?

Darn! Phone call from Nancy. Must go. Hugs, Everyone.

Gall bladders should be removed at birth!

Easy day today because the new baby goes to Grandma.
Elaine, how is Nancy doing? I think of her every now and then and hope she is finding her way in widowhood...Dudley was her husband, right?
I got up a little later so I just walked laps in the pool instead of swimming and that saves time in getting ready: no hair to wash the chlorine out of.I can tell I am going to go cut my bangs this morning...they keep getting in my eyes.
Donna, I bet the house smells heavenly with the spices and the dough baking. I am trying to lose a few pounds and not planning on baking anything for us, but I have a couple of birthdays for friends and a bake sale coming up that will keep me busy and give me a taste of something.
Laundry in just a few minutes. I like to have a load sone on Friday morning of all the towels and washcloths and get it done before parents start arriving. I don't like anyone to think I do housework while I am taking care of kids (which I don't...).
I hope all the appointments and baking and errands go well.
      Enjoy the day!

        Good morning.
A sunny morning today. High temps remain close to 100°, more or less. Nights are down in the 70's.

Yesterday E had his shoulder checked. There's a piece of bone "missing". If he was 40, they could do some surgery. But not the same now that he's 80. To work on his shoulder, they'd give him anesthesia sitting up. It would cause a sudden blood pressure change. At his age it could cause a heart attack, stroke, or death. So they showed him an exercise to do, took X-rays, and will see him again. They said he can go without the sling at home, but when he's out somewhere he has to wear the sling to protect him from being bumped, etc. He still can't raise his arm above shoulder level. He no longer has to eat left-handed, though. But I'm not to mention his problem to family. He doesn't like being fussed over. (But he likes being waited on.) Go figure.

Got a few things done while he was gone yesterday. Including some laundry. That felt good.

Need my hot tea and maybe some breakfast.
        Have a good day.

Morning! Just lost the post I had finished and now that I look back it had nothing much worth repeating in it. Elaine I have been watching the weather so hope you stay safe and dry. 36" of rain is a lot of rain to fall in some places! My news of the day is that I am declaring this a no cook day. Andrew will stay late but not over tonight since his mother is going to a ballgame in St. Louis and tomorrow is a work day for Jon. Grandma is just to boring to spend a Saturday with and that is ok with me because he is just to full of energy for me to spend the day with! Need to run the vac and run the dishwasher. I am certain I can find a load or two of laundry. Have a great Friday all!!
