Morning. We are waiting for air conditioner repair guy to get here. We are first on schedule this morning. We came back to the house after dinner out and taking care of the goats only to figure out the air conditioner had broke. The repair guy couldn't get to us he still had 4 ahead of us.
So grabbed our pjs and went to my sister's for the night. Lucky for us they are gone on vacation.

This morning I have Bible study..this afternoon I don't know.

I hope the a/c gets fixed up with as little expense as possible, Beth. When my mom's went out it was a couple of days as no one around here was working on the weekend.
It was 73* when I looked at 6:30! If I didn't already know that it is going to be hot, that is a sure fire way of forecasting. It never really cooled down last night, but I have the windows and doors open now.
When I went to the grocery store yesterday on my third (!) trip I noticed that Mt. Shasta is not visible. The fires in the area have covered it with the smoke. Same thing for Lassen in the East and even the foothills are behind a cover of smokey haze. So far, it hasn't impacted our breathing air: you can't smell smoke, but as it works its way down the valley, it will make it harder to breathe.
The music at the funeral yesterday was so beautiful! It was a full Catholic Mass, but they used a modern Catholic hymnal. Two of the hymns I didn't know, but so enjoyed listening to them. they sang How Great Thou Art, and Icould sing that. The soprano who was their soloist was perfect! They had a great pianist and a flute with all the music. Afterward, while my mother spoke with the family, I waited and talked to the music people. They even offered me a hymnal to take home! I said I could find it online after one of them asked me if I used the Internet...(I could not live without it!). They also sing in a community group that one of my church friends sings in and told me I should come. I am no longer the soprano I used to be, but if I can sit by my grined who is an excellent alto, I can learn that part...so I may just give it a try. I hate losing my voice. I used to be able to sing up to a high F and now I am good only to a D...sometimes E flat.
Enough about this, but my main point was I am so glad I went with my mother!
WE are having pulled pork with a new coleslaw recipe, fruit salad and green beans almondine. Chocolate lasagna for dessert...Hawaiian rolls for the pork. I had it in the crockpot overnight and it just smells so good. Now to pull it and put it up till later when we have company coming for dinner.
Hope you all have a good day and stay as cool as possible.
Sharon and Jo and anyone else travelling, take care and enjoy!

It's a good morning to sleep in! But I got up by 6, got some coffee made, read a bit.
Very humid here.....that determines what hairdo I have. My hair has a mind of its own. Right now it's certainly not the way it was styled. Doesn't look bad, though. I learned long ago, though, that I comb the way my hair wants to go that day, or look like I didn't comb my hair at all. So much for natural curly/wavy hair. My hairdresser can't talk me into scrunching curls, but that's not a hairdo I like on myself. Yes, Sharon, too often talking to a hairdresser is like talking into a vacuum. A select few actually listen.

Yesterday we went to a mall. I didn't expect we'd have to drive an hour or more to get there. I actually got some pants that meet my needs, at JC Penny. My daughter found them. I don't understand how stores set up the areas of clothing, and tire so quickly of searching through the scattered fashions. But she found them, and dug in to find my size. So I'm happy. To have them. Searching all over Tucson, they either don't carry this style, or the sizes were never right.
She wants to go to an outlet this week to get herself some jeans, so maybe I can find another nice top to wear.

Today we go to some movie. Fine. I'm drinking coffee here, because I feel warmer afterwards. Gems will be only be the low/mid 70's today. I'll wear my crazy support hose to keep my feet warm.

Mostly well sit around talking while we're here. Our GS has grown to be quite a nice young man. Our GD, still "finding herself" is 2-1/2 mo from graduating from her beauty school. She finds it more intense and frustrating than she expected.
I find it difficult to look at her with her facial piercings, but that's what some of her age group is about. I hope she outgrows it. She got herself quite a tattoo on her leg, ankle to knee, of a rose.....beautifully drawn, but I'd have opted for some color to it....hers is all black. But we still have more talking to do. About her, not about her body decorations.

      Breakfast time now.
      Have a great day!

Good Morning! It's a very warm muggy day here....SUMMER!

Yesterday was dreary for most of it, but we didn't get the rain & storms that they were predicting at 90% chance. A friend of my brother Tom's family was having a grad party yesterday afternoon & the mom was fretting about the weather. I told them my God is in the 10% chance of NO RAIN. They had a lovely dry party.

Yesterday morning was the first day of the farmer's stand being open. With the forecast of rain & it being the first day, they only ordered 4 pies for the day. Ten minutes after they opened Lew was calling me for more pies....they sold out. Lew won't allow me to bring warm/hot pies down there to sell, so after 4 of the pies I was going to make for today were cool enough, I dropped them off. They gave me about a half a bushel of peaches to bring home with me & let ripen for pies. By late afternoon, there were enough peaches ripe for me to make pie filling, so I baked 4 more pies for today. The total by the end of the day was 18 pies baked plus 5lbs of pasta salad. A regular customer called & had ordered 2 big pies & the pasta for a family reunion that is today. I was busy. I suggested going for Chinese for a late lunch, but by the time we got there, I wasn't hungry. I felt blah. Came home, took a nap, and was back at it. Dinner was each for their own.

This morning we went to church & SS. Got home & Blaise and I delivered the pies. It's so good to have Linda back at the stand. She was in the hospital all last year during the season due to cancer and all the side affects of the treatments. She was one sick puppy for about 9 months. She still wears out easily, but she's going to try to be down there for a few hours each day. Later this afternoon Blaise & I are going to a local nursing home to do the church service. Our church is in charge of it once a month. Will bake some more pies somewhere along the line, but not as many as yesterday, that's for sure.

Don't think we'll be play cards tonight. Haven't heard from my SIL. That's OK. I could use an evening of sitting & watching TV.

        Have a good one all!
