Good Morning & Happy 4th of July!

Yesterday was another busy one. After breakfast I headed into town....by myself. Needed to pick up a few things and of course still forgot a couple things...dang that list. Came home & got busy in the kitchen. One of the things was making up 100 hamburger patties out of some of the hamburger I bought. The patties got froze and will be used for the homeless shelter meal our church is hosting the first Sunday of August.

Last night was a home swim meet. Blaise didn't place in any of the heats he swam, but there was a HUGE improvement in his strokes. Last swimming lesson did some good. He has a lesson tomorrow morning & Thursday morning, so hopefully at Thur meet he'll swim even better. We were a bit frustrated at the concession stand. People volunteer to bring in the easy stuff...drinks, chips, etc, but aren't doing the more expensive or labor involved stuff...hot foods. The concession stand workers see it & we end up bringing in more than one HOT item. Next year there will be changes.

Becca was totally losing it yesterday morning when there were fleas all over the bottom of her work uniform. Cork went up and worked on her apt a bit, brought home (in bags) stuff to be washed, and bought two more FLEA bombs. Apparently the bombs she put off the day before weren't for fleas. So hopefully after today's bombs, her apt will be flea free. She'll come down tomorrow after work and get Joy.

This morning I need to bake a few pies for an order. There is always something else that needs done. My Mom, my SIL, and her Mom are coming for a cook out and then cards. All the "kids" are working as well as my brother Tom. My SIL may come early and swim. I'm glad the pool is getting used more this year.

    Have a good one all!

Happy Fourth of July! Seems it came quickly this year and hope that is not a sign of a fast moving summer. I really would like a lot more lazy hot days before having to think about school and schedules and cooking every day!! Weather is beautiful this morning and I may throw my swimsuit into a bag before heading to my sister's. Hopefully the rain will hold off until much later tonight..like after I am home and safely tucked into my bed. everyone here is working today so I will be going alone and just a day trip. One by one the repair men are showing up and I have no patience for that. I call you come and I then I sit back and think that my husband and I used to fight about that. His dad was a plumber and people expected when they called he come so we had different views. But I feel that since they are certainly not coming for free the least they can do is get here in a timely manner. I have less and less patience as I age and from past memories of repairmen fights I really did not have that much patience to begin with! And when you wait and wait why do they come at inconvenient times? I know, complain complain, bitch bitch bitch! But today I am off to have a beautiful day around the pool and eat food someone has prepared for me and drink drinks someone has but in my hand. Other than repairmen being my pet peeve this week, life ain't bad! Have a great Fourth everyone!!!

      💥Happy 4th of July💥

We have no plans for today. The kids can't drive to see us, and we aren't about to drive from this hot place, to theirs which is yet hotter! The temps here are inching upwards again, so we'll just stay indoors.

Tomorrow I have an appointment for an ECHO test. Should be easy enough, unless they throw in a stress test. I have a feeling my neuropathic feet won't be great on a treadmill. I can't tell right off if my foot "falls asleep" from the constant tingling they have. I tripped once because of that when I got out of my chair. Unfortunately, I'm told there is no cure for this.

I've cooked ahead, so it's easy to simply reheat food than stand by the stove every day. So I use my microwave quite a bit. Got lots of BBQ pulled pork and meatloaf patties. Also frozen pierogi. And bags of frozen veggies. As well as salad makings. Mix and match.....to E it's like having "different meals" every night. We've had the pork stuff in sandwiches, on noodles, and with rice. The patties go much the same way. I also have instant potatoes on hand if he hanker for potatoes.

Well, I hope you all have a great holiday. 🇺🇸

Jo, they can do the stress test without the treadmill. That is how they did Kenny's Mom's. They use some kind of medication. I found that Lyrica works wonders for the neropathy

Oh my goodness! Happy Independence Day!
I love being here in Maryland with family and the great historical sites!
Sorry I haven't been able to check in and really sorry it won't work out to get up to PA but this has been everything I hoped for and more!
Our two Scouts are marching in a parade today and we are off to go watch.
Fireflies are as wonderful as the songbirds!

Oh, my....fireflies! Haven't seen those in ages. When I was a young girl catching them, I'd try hard to catch one that was really Tinkerbell! Never did find her, though. 😂

Good morning everyone. Not sure what is going on today. We went over to Larry's aunt's after Ellen got off work, to much food, lots of fireworks. We had driven to watch the town fireworks and someone messed up big time, they were over before they were supposed to start and lasted all of 15 minutes. There are a lot of ticked off people.

Darla - Since they took me off all my treatment meds, my head is a whole lot clearer. I'd prefer to stay off meds unless absolutely necessary. Since I came down with this neuropathy (a side effect of the drugs, IVs, and no food for over a week), and what I actually feel is tolerable, I can deal with this. And they will have to make adjustments, too!

Hello...I just got up...I have no plans for today except to order a really good pizza later...

The last 2 evenings I have ended up at the River front with my friend across the street!! Fun Both nights...Last night was a little bit crowded and a ALOT hot!! The food wasn't that great..The fireworks made up for all of that!!! They were the best ones I remember ever seeing...

Work yesterday was so crazy frustrating for me..My autism verses that of one of the volunteers! We had to hang things differently for the sale today...I was doing my work and he was undoing it or making more for because he didn't understand things were being done differently...I would fix it all again..and he would undo it.! I told the people incharge and his coach!

I am so glad that I have a day off...stuff to get done around here.
