  • It's JULY 1st, already!

    Good morning. Happy July.
Nothing much going on here today. Just staying out of the sizzling heat.
Tomorrow we plan to go out to breakfast, then to the movies. Despicable Me is playing, and we think they're funny.

    Have a good day! ☀️

Good Morning...another slow day around here...everyone must be sleeping in. Not much happening here either. The yard debris was finally cleared yesterday and the contractor paid. He will be back in the fall to seed and plant some shrubs....claims he is backed up with other jobs plus just not the time to be planting grass. Ok, something to look forward to. Cooked last night so not cooking tonight. Made meatballs for the great all American family sit down dinner tomorrow. Plan a nothing day with just laundry and ironing in front of the ball game. Cardinals are finally putting together a winning streak. Have a great Saturday and stay cool...we are sunny for now and warm today...rain for the Fourth predicted. Bummer!!

Good Morning! Yesterday was a pretty summer today and today is a wet summer day....high humidity.

Yesterday was a busy one. I've had this recipe for blueberry pound cake for probably 6 years and had yet to make it. A lady in our Bible study in Bradford made it several times & I LOVED it, so I finally remembered it and picked up fresh blueberries at Aldi's. Made that and got it out of the oven just before we had to leave for swim lessons with Coach Maggie. When then ran to the bank and back home to work. Made up the deviled eggs for today's party at my cousin Karen's. I'm taking the cake & eggs. Then it was onto making stuff for last night's card party.

I ordered pizza and had Becca pick it up once she got here. My Mom & SIL came too. My Mom & I lost the whole way around last night. It was fun though. Lots of laughs and good food. Well....my SIL buffalo chicken dip and a bit TOO HOT...even for her. After they left, Becca and I started watching a new series on Netflix.

It's been a slow start here this morning. Don't have to hurry anywhere or fill anyone's order. Did have to go to the other bank because two places we were doing business the last 2 days didn't accept Discover card, so I had to you my bank card and didn't have enough money to cover both. Always something.

The other day we tore everything off the top shelves plus a few others in the pantry trying to find the source of the pantry moths. Well we thought we got them all, but now they've reappeared, so think we are going to tear apart some more shelves and repeat of the one. The party at my cousin's doesn't start until 5pm, so we have most of the day to relax or go at a slow pace.

My cousin was crying yesterday when she thought is was going to storm this evening. I TOLD her that it was suppose to quit raining and just be cloudy starting about 6pm, but she listened to other people and had herself worked into a tizzy. What a waste of energy and tears. It'll be what it'll be.

Time to go play "cards" with Blaise. Have a good one all & stay cool.

Good morning, nice here today. Had a small sprinkle yesterday, just enough to cool things off. Have been rereading the Harry Potter books on this phone, Candie has the Kindle app on here so have been using it.She also has an app called audibles so when my eyes start bothering me I turn it on and listen to a book.
Ebil slept with Larry & Ellen while I was at Candie's, they said the one night she was purring si loud they neither one could get to sleep, Larry got up and put her out and shut the bedroom door, later he was hearing a noise and shined a light at the door, said she had both front paws under the door like she was trying to get under it.

          Good Morning.

Well, I left here at 7:30 to get to the local Farmer's Market to try to find tomatoes. There was one farmer with them, So I bought 3 bagsful. Then I got home to find the neighbor had brought a bunch, along with okra. So I blanched and froze most of the okra and will fry a batch for lunch. I found if you cut it, flour it, put it in egg and then bounce it around in cornmeal, it works GREAT! Put on a pot of purple hull peas and will add fresh corn and cornbread, and that should do it for today.

Better go get some laundry started.

Darla, Jo, maxie, Donna, SO good to find you all here. A few of us are hanging on.

          Hugs ! ! !
