Friday June 30th THEE final day of June

Good Morning! Yesterday was a beautiful sunny summer day.

Yesterday was a busy one as usual. Got all the sugar cookies packaged up, and then we met Sue at Giant Eagle parking lot. Did the EXCHANGE, and then Blaise & I did some major coupon & sale shopping at GE. Got it all put away and then got a phone call....I need a pie! So made that then started working on the 2 carrot cakes for the freezer. I'm now prepared for at least 2 weeks....I think.

My SIL & niece came to swim during the afternoon. I went down for a bit and chatted with them. Then it was time to get ready to go for the swim meet. He FINALLY swam the proper strokes. I was very proud of him as was the coach. It earned him a new Big Nate book, which has been his goal.

This morning I hope to get the deviled eggs & blueberry pound cake made before taking Blaise for his swim lesson. The goodies are for tomorrow's 4th of July party at my cousin's. It's an annual event. Need to make a bank run and will probably do that right after swim lessons. Then it's home to get ready for company tonight. Since the weekend is too busy and Becca is coming home late this afternoon, us ladies are going to play cards tonight. Going to order a pizza and we'll all fill in goodies. We won't have to wrap the evening up early because Becca doesn't have to leave early...she's staying the night. She's down for the weekend.

I guess Kathy has accepted the fact that I'm not going to just give her the car, or accept payments on it, or co-sign a loan for her. She called her bank and is applying for a loan. I'm pretty sure they won't give her one, but I didn't tell her that. At least she's doing what she needs to do. So I guess I'll be driving the Escape soon.

Morning...was up early then went back to bed. Slept like a rock those last couple of hours! Last night when Sierra came in Jon and I were sitting on the patio and I do not know why we were out there at midnight but I came in and went to bed but they stayed out for a while. She stopped in my room and ask what this family meal stuff was about...first I had heard of a family meal but was suspecting it would mean work for me. Evidently her dad wants her home once a week for a family meal. Yesterday I had brought in burgers for lunch and for some reason we sat at the table with carryout on paper plates and he must have liked the idea. I think he feels that he is left out since Sierra normally comes to me for most everything....he shouldn't feel to bad about that since she has come to me for new tires on her car although i think he will pay half so there he is..included! Anyway she agreed without kicking and screaming and maybe in time we can get Andrew here also. It is nice during the school year to have a family meal every night and you do talk and learn things. Going to cook tonight for just the two of us and I do not know what to do with the pork chops he brought up. Sunday, since she was 'requested' to appear, Sierra ask for spaghetti and meatballs so I need to make the balls. Hope I can pick up some asiago around here because I am not running home for just cheese. May just put together a couple of meat loafs too. Gloomy but hot this morning with afternoon storms. Concrete/landscaper has thrown rock but still not picked up the old concrete. Getting tired of looking at that mess out front but he will not be paid until that is gone. Nothing more to say I guess. Mommy dearest is still calling everyday and is still asking the kid to go to minnesota for a week in July. Sierra does not want to go and has no plans to go so I told her she needs to tell her mother that. All those miles away and the girl is still afraid to tell her mother no. She has no qualms about telling me what is on her mind but not the mommy. We have come a long way but not that far yet. Have a great Friday...I have to cook so won't be no party around here...

Good morning, everyone.
Woke to bright sunshine this morning....guess I slept in a bit, but we were reading til almost midnight last night.
My pulled poor turned our really good. It made at least a gallon, I'd say. I put 2 containers in the freezer, and 2 containers in the fridge. E preferred to have it on noodles yesterday, instead of sandwiches.

Well, we don't have any interesting activities going on here. It's too hot to go anywhere. (Despite yesterday's forecast, the temperature gauged 112° here.). When we go to WA in a few weeks, we'll get some respite from this heat. They're much cooler. We'll see.

So, things may perk up for the holiday ahead. Maybe. We no longer join the crowds anywhere. Not even for fireworks. Since they took the Boston Pops off the air, we can't see their celebration......they choreographed their music to the firework displays. Forget the other channels, because we don't relate to what they call music, and they talk far too much, and give too-short presentations of the fireworks. I hope there aren't going to be people out with guns (especially if they've been drinking!), out celebrating.

Well, it's the end of the week, and the end of another month. Where does the time go?

Morning checking in from work. Cori came and got in bed with me at some point this morning and I shut my alarm off. Made for a huge rush to get ready on time. I have psych appointment this afternoon. Then mom and I are getting our nails done and going to Joann fabric. Mom needs fabric and I need some stuff to make a couple bracelets.

I"m still here.... just slept in , and then had busy day. David had me on the road, he made out "his " list . and since I do the driving , off we went .. finally got home.. did some prep work for my food for tomorrow.. checked the house over to see if I have missed any nook or cranny that need a swipe.. .will be busy tomorrow.. party day at daughters.. think I will go wash dishes for her in the morning .. just keep praying for "no rain".. at least from 5pm until 10-11pm..

Maxie, good idea about a family meal......it does keep everybody posted on whats going on .. .more or less.. even its only eating a take out pizza or burgers.. bowl of soup......by the way, Fathers and Mothers are often at fault here too... with meetings and appointments..

got one of those Phone calls. .saw the number was a Texas number.. and thought it might be Elaine.. but the area code was wrong .. look it up on Google and it was one of the scan kind.. and oldie tho'.

Today ended up several degrees hotter than forecasted. And the car registered it at 115° today. I'm hoping that means the fall temperatures will start a month earlier, too.

Made salads for supper with lots of veggies, except I ran out of tomatoes yesterday, so topped it off with diced ham and hard boiled egg slices.

See you Next Month 😏 seeing as how July starts tomorrow. LOL
