  • Good morning Thursday 4/6

Good morning...work yesterday was just ok...I think I might be getting a little burned out..

Being out with friends last night was pretty good. The presentation/anniversary celebration was interesting....dinner was fun. I should never have worn my sleeveless dress with it being damp and chilly when I left...when I came home last night it was down right cold!!!!!

Today is work this morning...meeting this afternoon...packing for my over night women's retreat. Hoping to get to bed early today...

Beth, looks like you and I are the only ones with things to do today! And didn't it get cold fast last evening? So sick of this rain and rain and rain and now back to cold and rain!! Today I am shopping...if nothing else it will warm up my credit card. Starting at our regular meeting place, Bob Evans, for breakfast then shop until my sister finds something, anything, to wear to this lala wedding, lunch and home where I do not have to cook!! Jon was with a group of union guys who protested the governors visit last evening and said he was surprised how the big shots would walk through the union protesters and try to antagonize the situation while the gov sneaks in through a side door. He said a couple of the wives tried to get them into the side door but they were adamant about walking through the peaceful protestors and making cracks. Our guys had their kids and families with them! He was not in a happy mood when he came in last night after seeing that and then getting a letter about another medical bill. The good state of Illinois has not paid a state employees medical bills in two years now even though the premiums are still deducted from paychecks twice a month. I do not know how this situation will end.....but I am off to shower and drown my woes by going from store to store and spending my sister's money. May buy myself a new summer smelly so I will not smell so sour this summer. Bought one a couple of weeks ago but like to switch off. Sorta like to surprise myself each morning by how sweet I smell after a shower. Weather guy said do not be surprised if you see a flurry this morning...burr! SUN!!!!!!!!!!!! we need sun and warm around here. Oh and a new governor!

Good Morning! It's a wet one out there, but yesterday we did have sunshine & nice temps.

Yesterday was good. I FINALLY got some paperwork done & the bill payments in the mailbox. One of those was the deposit for Blaise's church camp in late July. Then it was off to town. Got bad news from the doctor's office. The drug company is NOT going to give me the new insulin like we thought, but my doctor said Christ is to talk to the drug rep and see if they'll keep supplying them with it so they can give it to me since it's the first one to really work for me. Can't wait for my next A1C level.

I then met Becca for lunch at Arby's. We tried out their new gyros. I got the Greek one and it was very tasty. After lunch we went to the thrift store to shop. We got a little of this & a little of that. Tomorrow is black & gold day at school since it's the Pirates home opener, so we found him a Pirate shirt, Steeler shirt, and a Penguins shirt. He's ready for all Pittsburgh teams. Almost ruined a pair of my "new" capris when I was going out to get Blaise off the bus when I tripped & fell. Skinned my one knee & both palms got ruffed up. Dumb. Blaise was so sweet to me and even put a bandaid on my knee. After dinner & spelling, Blaise & I went around the perimeter of our yard and picked up all the trash people threw all winter, so now Corky can mow maybe this weekend. Tomorrow we are suppose to have snow.

This morning is Bible study. Will come home and get my baking orders organized and maybe started for this weekend. I know I have to make 2 1/2 doz cupcakes. Some will be baseballs and some footballs. I'm excited to try them.

Maxie....I don't know why they aren't doing a combo of phonics & sight words. Blaise's spelling word every week are words that sound alike....like cow & mouse. Didn't he do rhyming? Blaise is an amazing reader. After about 3 weeks of school, he just suddenly knew words and reads kind of monotone but smoothly. Becca was a good reader too. That sure helped her in college.

Have a good one all and stay dry.

          Good Morning.

Hi beth! Hi Sassy! Hi maxie!

Well, it turned super cold here, as well, but the sun is still out there, so it's tolerable.

Nothing to report or discuss. We are doing chemo shots all week, so we just do that and not much else. John is very careful about what he eats, because sometimes the medicine gets to him, so I'm not even cooking - just steaming potatoes, plain pasta, boiling some shrimp. Sound awful, I know.

Well, trash day! Hope you all enjoy your Thursday.

Good morning here and a rainy one it is! I am not too sad about that because it gets all the grass watered in spots that when summer hits no amount of watering seems to keep the grass growing. I am going to do a seeding in a few spots and see if that helps...the next step is to just jput a few big rocks in that corner and call it decorative!
the first three days of the week seem to zip by, but Thursday starts the slow down. It is my longest work day with the new toddler's mom picking him up close to 6:00pm. When the others all get picked up by 4:50, it was a rude awakening, but for only one day, and a lot of other daycare providers work till 6:00 every day. I try and get some work done in the room and still keep him from undoing most of it
Elaine, the shrimp sounds great to me!
I better go find my energy and some good attitude...I remembered I have a letter to write for a scholarship application for one of the girls at church.
Keeping you all close in my thoughts!

              Good morning, busy people.
Yesterday turned out to be busy. When E returned from the gym, he asked "Do you want to stock up at the meat sale?" Safeway had an ad for B1G2 or 3, plus it was Seniors Day.
We went to our car and said, look how the dust settled when we had rain the other day...yeah, the car looked pretty dirty on the outside. So we went to the car wash first (I didn't want to haul perishable groceries through that!). We got the wash-only this time, and got to ride through the car wash machines. Haven't done that in eons.
Then we went across the street to a little restaurant we like. It used to be a Pancake House....still is, actually.....but they offer much more now. E had a patty melt, and I had the most delicious tuna melt!
And finally we went to the grocery store and bought the sale meats. Forgot about a ham for Easter, but what the heck, got some pork chops that I can cook with fruit. Won't be too different.
I never did get that sausage made yesterday, so I will try to get to that today.

I got a glimpse of the weather news yesterday on TV. The southern states have had a lot of destruction from heavy winds, and the Midwest has a big cold front coming through. This is not a normal springtime for most people, is it. Climate change at work? Mother Nature must have dementia, or a bad temper. ☹️
As for us, the temps didn't drop, were still in the 80's. Fri-Sat, as it stands, should hit 89°, then Sunday should hit the 70's again for ? days.

Elaine, simple eating is usually the best, I think. If I make full meals, I make too much. But sometimes soup and a sandwich, or a nice salad, fits the bill better. Or I can take leftovers, scramble (or nuke) it with an egg, and call it a meal.
(My dad did that when he wanted a snack and mom wasn't there to see! &#128521. He'd share with me, nobody else.

I hope you all have a great day. ☀️

Later: looks like a sinus infection kind of day for me. Feels like I was punched in the eye socket. No fun.

I don't know what that number is about, where I mentioned my dad. I went to edit it out, and it wasn't there. But when I closed the editing, it came back. There are mysteries on the web! 🤔
