Good Morning! The sun is SUPPOSE to be out today.....I'm waiting.....not yet....

Yesterday was good. I baked 2 oatmeal pies & 2 kinds of cookies before leaving to go to the movies with my SIL to see Beauty & the Beast. Oh my word...I just want to get a big ole ball gown & dance with a prince. Loved the movie! Got home about 15 minutes before Blaise. He requested spaghetti & meatballs for dinner, so that's what we had. I got the choc cherry cookies iced and everything in the freezer. One of my customers dropped off a grocery bag of "baking supplies" that she said she's not going to use. I'll use it all. Now there were probably 2 doz little boxes of raisins, which will go in Blaise's lunches. I feel so blessed!

This morning I HAVE to finish up the paperwork for the bills. Then it's into town I go to deliver the pie to the doctor's office then to meet Becca for lunch at Arby's. We are going to try their Greek Gyro and then to a little shopping at the thrift store before she has to go back up to go to work. Her shift for her main position is F,S,S this schedule, but since she's office M-Th, they allow her to pick up OT working her old position in the activity halls/gyms. She's saving up to start paying off her student loans. They have her on a 10 yr pay back plan, but I told her if she could do it in 3 yrs, it would be such a HUGE relief. It's her life & problem though.

Oh Bethina....that schedule is busier than I'd like to be. I like setting my own pace. Slow but steady.

    Have a good one all!

late late late this morning. Did not sleep much last night and then slept in this morning. It rained off and on all night with some storms. I am getting sick of the rain, especially since we have more coming today. Paper said Illinois had an exceptionally wet March. No kidding! Sierra is registering for her summer class today so will be here later but I am not taking her out to lunch today. There is lunch meat and potato salad here and I want her to move around the patio furniture for me...still down in the back from working in the yard Sunday. We voted yesterday and Andrew was just to hungry to come back home while I cooked so we had Chinese. The boy is a freak for orange chicken and the only kid I know that will eat Chinese every day of the week...Sierra won;t go unless they have a good American bar. So I did not have to cook and we will have tonight what we were going to have last night. He and Jon and the neighbor kid dug out that front bush I have wanted out for 2 years or so and now I have a free area to plant a tree. He came in all smelly and sweaty while I was watching baseball and said dad made him come in to read...I had a time limit but his dad told him a chapter a night and tonight's chapter was 2 half pages which he read and flew back out. He read and zoomed out without any grief. That boy is so into racing and monster trucks etc., and I have been trying to find a book in that area. Tomorrow I am meeting up with my sister and friend, our other sister she calls herself, to get that darn dress picked out for this lala wedding (we picked out the dress for the reception but the wedding is on another day which requires another type of dress) so thought I would go into the big book store by the mall. The bluebird is back this morning and I watched him scout out the birdhouse while my coffee made. Beautiful! Blues and Cardinals both lost last night...bummer...but Cards play at noon so maybe they will do better this afternoon. Gotta go and catch up on some time that I lost with that morning nap. Hope somebody out there gets full day of sun. maybe tomorrow for us!

Maxie, I forgot how old he is...what level books are you looking for? I will be looking. Red Bluff has Monster trucks twice a year so lots of kids get and get rid of books about them!

Paula he is 10. I was on amazon today and ordered a book on motorcycles and another on monster trucks. I read the reviews and both had reviews from parents of struggling readers and said they were not babyish. He came in last night to read with no problem so I think he realizes we are serious and the quicker he buckles down the faster he can go on his merry way. I do know he is a struggling reader but I also know he is not as behind as the testing showed. He is so mechanical and the teacher said if something is broken she will ask Andrew if he can fix it first. You know he delights in that! Thanks for volunteering and I will let you know if these are a strike out.

      Good morning to all❣️

We have that sunshine here this morning, Cookie.
I don't think we have any particular for today.

Yesterday afternoon I got my hair cut. The hairdresser sounded like she was wired! But she had been getting shots for back pain. Now, she normally does talk a lot. Constantly. Yesterday she was talking faster than normally, and telling off-color jokes. (Not normally her style.). But I ended up with a gorgeous hairdo (which didn't stay put for an hour), but the cut itself was good and I can work with that. So anyway, afterwards we went to Costco for a few items, and then out to dinner.
The restaurant had cut some light dishes from its menu, and what was left was bistro style with ingredients we didn't trust. So E got steak (it was tough for cutting & chewing) and I got Parmesan crusted chicken and brought home half my dinner because it was delicious. E said next time we eat out it'll be at a reliable steakhouse out in the boonies. Nalani would recognize the name, as the original restaurant is in SV, but they built a sister restaurant out here. It's in a hideaway area, but the place is almost always packed. (If you're reading here, Nalani, it's Daisy Mae's steakhouse.) They have a fillet that melts in your mouth.

So, we will take the day as it comes. We just got some tax receipts/papers in the mail, so E will have to get his turbotax set up and do that. I think I'll putter in the kitchen today. I want to make Sharon's sausage recipe.

      Have a beautiful day! ☀️

I am later with his morning because I chang d my schedule getting ready. And using the iPad is not as easy as it was: the keyboard is covering the typing space.

Jo, I want to find a good steakhouse. I have heard of one about 25 mils south and plan on trying it after this semester is over and Becky feels like she has some time to spare.
          I better get moving.
Hope all of you stay positive and happy!
