  • Just thought I would pop in...

...and let you know I'm still alive!

Still living in Blackball and running the hotel, set myself a goal to no longer do front of house after next year, I have many other projects that need my time and frankly bar work is not challenging enough for me. In other words I can't answer the same question 200 times a day and still smile, Mantoy can though so he will do front of house more.

The good news is that our accountant says we are losing less each year and we may even hit the black ink soon!
Partly because we are almost finished with the restoration and repainting of the hotel, our Facebook page has some before and after shots if you are interested, it has certainly been an expensive journey.

Tazboy just turned 21 and lives in Blackball and works as a chef in Greymouth, 20 minutes away.
Tazgirl, married with 2 boys lives in Blackball and is a SAHM, it looks like they are set to buy their first home soon.
Firechild is in Sydney with no plans to return to NZ, works in wildlife rescue and just passed her venemous snakes certification.

Look how easy it was to tell you about 4 years in 4 paragraphs!!

Have a great Christmas and an even better 2017!!
Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Cyn, it is SO wonderful to find you here! It sounds as if all of your dreams have come true after a great deal of courage and hard work.
So glad your children are doing well. Not sure about the snake certification. Ha Ha
I have seen the photos of the hotel on FB and enjoyed them so much.

Like Donna said, don't be a stranger. Merry Christmas and Happy Happy 2017~

Hi Cynders and a Happy Christmas to you and all of yours. Time does fly so I am glad to get caught up with your life.

Just an aside, I went to the emergency room last Wednesday and my nurse was a young woman from South Island. She had come for a holiday here, met her now husband and stayed. Nearly lost her accent.
