I am going into work at 7 instead of 730. I have a ride coming to bring me home at 11. Work yesterday was better...I found out I am not the only one that the bosses are coming down on. They have been riding everyone all week. We are not sure why...but like I told mom even on my most stressful day Savers is still the best place I have worked.

Heading out this afternoon to go camping with my family and a bunch of my sisters friends..we all are looking forward to it! I will be staying in a tent on my parents camp site.

Yesterday evening was a bit crazy and a bit tramatizing for Cori....at one point I had 3 cats in the house...two of my sisters 3 cats had to come stay in the tv room while they showed there home....it went on the market Monday and sold yesterday to the first couple that looked at it for the asking price. I have seen pictures of my sisters new home...its going to be beautiful once all the work is done...and my sister will still live less that 10 minutes from me. I am hoping to get to help with the deconstruction.

I don't know that I will be back before Sunday

good Morning,, cold one.. only about 30!!!!.. agg..

thanks for the smile SassyGirl...and I think I would like to watch Lion King again... will borrow from Daughters collection.

Bethina,, lucky sister to sell her house so quickly... and a relief .

yesterday was a quiet day.. quick trip to bank and Library.. got a book off shelf.. no author I had heard of.. turned out to be trashy...will go back on next trip out....so found one for the nook.. second in a series I had started once..has more description talk than I like ..but plot and characters are good.. right now I am caught up on all my favorite people's books..some new ones coming out in Dec. ...

David worked at the sawmill a while in the afternoon, they paced themselves..his back got sore..later . Bill was ready to saw move in evening.. but first I veto the idea and then David did too... but he sure was happy... said he slept better and felt better too... raring to go again... IF he can do this every so often, maybe he will stop this downward slide.
my to-do list lncludes some phone calls,
clean a window or two that are looking bad..
dust.living room and sweeping up cat hair
maybe even cook something good. .

will be back to read .... hope you all are well.. safe Journey to the travelers.
Take it one Day , one step, at a time.. cause that's all we really have.

Good SUNNY Morning! The ground is covered with frost.

Yesterday was good. Made pies first thing and got 2 delivered to my doctor's office & a quick trip to Aldi's. Came home and got things ready for the lady that was coming to taste test cookies for her daughter's wedding coming up on Nov 12th....NOVEMBER 12th!!!! She's going to order close to 100 doz. I've never baked all the cookies for a wedding. Then another customer/friend came to pick up her order. She wanted a small tray of cookies to try, so I brought them all out of the freezer & she created her own plate of cookies. Made a quick trip to Saxonburg to pick up and drop off things. I mixed up 4 kinds of cookie dough but ran out of energy to bake any off. Made chicken & broccoli stir fry for dinner. Last time it was WAY too salty, so I salted nothing as I went along even though the recipe called for it. MUCH better. Corky still wasn't crazy for it, but it was something different. Had a relaxing evening. Started watching my recorded shows. Code Black was last night's pick....Rob Lowe can save me ANY DAY!

This morning I need to run into WM for a bat cookie cutter and a few other baking items. Then it's home to bake and birthday cake for an order tomorrow. Then there is always more to do. Like laundry. I was thinking about going to the football game tonight to see me niece perform at half time, but it's suppose to be down in the 30's again, and I'm not sure I want to freeze my butt off. We'll see.

Bethina...so glad your sister's house sold so fast. It's hard not to be a tiny bit jealous. Mine took over 3 yrs.

      Have a good one all!

        Good Morning.

Donna, I need to try to get here in the morning before you do. Otherwise I'm exhausted after reading about your day. Wow, Girl!

sassy, what a cute pic. Love kitties!

Janet, I'm so glad Dave got to do something he loves. Wonderful! I have been reading too much lately, but it isn't novels. I need to escape from this real world.

Speaking of cooking, John wanted Chicken Fried Steak, and I actually made something I could brag about, Excellent stuff!

Radar is showing rain overhead. We need it badly. Hope it arrives.

Got our flu shots yesterday, and my arm is killing me. Guess I'll have to take the day off.

BTW. we drove past the motel Nancy and Ken Gilbert stayed in while they were here for the Roundup. I have been wondering about them. Does anyone know anything?

Well, have a good day, Friends.

Good cold morning! Blues won again last night and will play again Saturday. Today is the day I must clean this house and I have a lot of my own laundry to do. Took Sierra for her flu shot yesterday and she is complaining of a sore arm...I got mine a few weeks ago and not sure if I remember any soreness. I am not cooking tonight. Told son last evening I am sick of cooking every day. I have to plan a meal and shop for the meal and cook the meal and sometimes I have a hard time eating my own meal then I have to clean it up. Every night! Those days should be over and as much as I don;t want my family to starve to death I am done cooking every night. It has reached the point that I even hate unloading the dish washer!! So, today is a day off from the kitchen and I do not care what they eat...as long as they share it with me because I have not sworn off eating just cooking! As much as Donna loves her kitchen I hate mine! Cannot think of anything new from here. Andrew brought in his new hoodie and was showing me how it was lined and even the pockets and hood are lined and I think he was hinting that they had a blue one also so maybe I will do some shopping tomorrow. He was telling about the neat hat they had too and that I didn;t have to buy any more socks and underwear. Yep, pretty sure there was a hint in there...can the undies grandma and he has enough jeans sooooooo. Need to get moving. Sierra comes in on fridays and stays a few hours before leaving for work. She is here a lot lately and has made a few cracks about mommy dearest but I have learned to bite my tongue. Seems like I am falling into her trap if I respond to anything about the mommy. So stay warm everyone and enjoy your friday. Gloomy but not suppose to rain...

Elaine, I will check on Nancy on Facebook. I read her posts regularly. We first met on a cooking site where I met Pat!
Raining right now! So happy! After all our drought I don't even fuss over a rainy daycare day. I did have to think really hard about whether or not I secured all the tubs back into the shed or if I left anything out that would now be ruined...pretty sure it is all good. I will check as soon as it is light enough to see.
I feel like I need to bake something with/for the kids today. Just having them help stir makes them feel accomplished and apart of the process. One of my friend's mother used to bake gingerbread on stormy days, and it is something I started doing when I had kids at home.
Donna, I agree with Elaine: you set a high bar, girl! I feel pretty good just getting through reading your list!
Maye, that is wonderful that David was able to do some work at the sawmill.
And that chicken fried steak is one of my favorites, Elaine! When I think of travelling across country I always think of my dad ordering it almost every time we stopped and he said it was always a bit different and always good. Back in the day when there were no microwaves in diners...Texas diner food was our favorite!
I have to go shopping online for a birthday gift. All four of our children were born between October 23 and December 18...makes for a scramble to get birthdays and Christmas planned and mailed out (now) and a budgetary strategy (then)! Anyway, I need to go...I decided on getting a flag and a pole (the kind that fits to the side of the house) for Spencer, who just moved back to the US. I think his boys will like it, too. We always fly one on holidays and so the kids grew up with the tradition.
Have a great day, Everyone and I just may play some Lion King music for the kids today, Sassy!

            Good morning.
We are packed and ready to go! First we stop at the Cancer Center, I get labs done this morning, then the blood infusion early in the afternoon. Then we hop into the car and head west for the first half of the drive. (We don't do full day drives any more. It gets more difficult with age, especially with medical problems.). So we will finish the drive to the coast tomorrow. The wedding is on board the ship on Sunday.
Well, no housework, no cooking for a week!

I love the kitten, Sassy. The Lion King was a good movie.

Busy as ever, Donna. Busier than I ever was when I sold cakes (decorated.). I never skimped on decorations. I got to hate the customers who said things like, "Hi. I'm a friend of a friend who orders from you. I heard your cakes are something else, so I want to get a Sweet Sixteen cake for my daughter. Tomorrow. But I don't want to pay the price of the cake, so could you just make the decorations and bring them to me?" Well, no - we had plans to visit our relatives "tomorrow." It would be nice to have advance notice, because everything was made fresh. Stuff like that got to be too often, so I quit the business.
I'm very glad that you have nicer customers.

Beth, how did Cori like having cat-guests in her territory?

Paula, the gingerbread sounds so good! I'll have to make some when we return.

Well, I'd better get dressed and get my day started.
Hope you all have a great day!!!

I don't mind doing things last minute, but when I'm as busy as I am now, I just can't do it. I called Sue for help this next week. I figure God is blessing me with all this business and blessing Sue in the process too since she needs the $$ too. October was suppose to be my "breath & catch up" month, but it didn't turn out that way.

Good grief! They would ask you to make the roses, etc. but not the whole cake?!
I would be embarrassed to find out a friend of mine ever asked something like that!
Happy your blood work numbers are up!
On to the oven and the good salt air!

Yay! I got my blood test results, and my hemoglobin is up to 9+. I didn't need the blood infusion!

So we got a way early start toward the west coast.
We stopped at Pizza Hut for lunch. Not much offered in small towns enroute. I'm freezing in this place and will be glad to get back on the road.

              Hi again.
We made it to Long Beach about 2:30, but it seems later. Is CA still on AZ time? I lose track.

I don't think CA puts up speed limit signs less that 100 miles apart. Do we follow the drivers going at 65mph, or 95mph???

Breakfast in Blythe at Denny's was not a good experience. The waitress didn't bring a few things (OJ, napkins) and had made a change on my plate without asking first, so when we finally saw her again while we were halfway through breakfast we told her to take what was missing and remove it from the bill. She was a bit belligerent, probably because she had to get the managers approval and tell him what happened. I know she was saying things to the other waitress' about us, because she kept looking in our direction. We didn't finish (probably a good thing, because later I experienced 2 hrs of cramping), the cashier turned and asked her "is this him?" , and she nodded. E didn't want any more conversations with her, so he just put the bill and exact amount of money on the counter and walked out. Her tip was 10%, all in change on the table.

We have reservations in the hotel restaurant for dinner tonight. (Just had an ice cream bar since we missed lunch.)
The menu is "interesting" to say the least. About every dish has something (seeds, nuts, hot peppers, curry, or the main ingredient itself, that I'm unable to eat/digest. The very last item is a "grass-fed" burger, and I'll ask for all the toppings on the side. I'm not sure what, if any, sides might come with it. I've never ever heard of many of the ingredients. They've got in their recipes, but why take chances? Just a burger would be great in my book, and I wonder if th chef would balk at my asking for catsup & mustard. A tomato isn't in any recipe on the list, that I can tell.

Tomorrow is going to start early for us, and I've planned just one outfit a day. I hope DD won't mention my outfit....there's no bling in it, just colorful on black. If my colostomy bag is playful, it will be noticeable, I'm sure, under my dress.
That's why I bought the Chinese duster to wear over it. I have standard support hose, and have to wear flat shoes.
Got my hair done Thursday....I think she messed up a bit on what covers my right ear. I can work with it and spray it in place, but am not liking the turns of the waves caused by the cut. It's easier to let it grow out and fix it myself before I go back.
This is her first mistake on me, so I'll let it go. I'll be able to get a look that I like, though. She's a convenience because my fingers/hands get stiff ..... Not a necessity, because I've done my own hair for many years. One thing I like about her is that sometimes get a travel-size sample of products to try....some are rather expensive. Once she had opened a regular produce, a skin cream, which aided my foot infections from the hospital.....after applying it to both of my legs, she gave me the rest of the tube! How generous is that! I get to try products before deciding whether to buy them.

So, anyway, tomorrow should be a fun day once we can get boarded.
              I can hardly wait.

Good evening to all, and to all a good night.
(Would you believe they're already preparing lots for Christmas trees?!!!!!! We have yet to deal with Halloween and Thanksgiving, for heavens sake!)
