  • Sunday ~ October 9 ~ Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood!

    Hello Out There!

OMG! I have already steamed my kitchen counters, washed the baseboards, and am waiting for the steam mop to steam!

Big day ahead. Homecoming at our little church. Those of you who have been here will remember. Our new piano will be rocking out the told-time tunes! Guess I should take some photos.

Anyhow, nothing newsworthy except my nephew took a set of our outdoor furniture to an auction and I actually got $50. I think that is the first time I have ever sold anything. Feels GOOD!
I really think having it gone feels better.

Hope you all have an awesome day. As for me, clean kitchen top to bottom gives me that yaHOOOO feeling!

    Luv You All

I am flying through....we are leaving soon for a 3 hour drive to Sikeston MO to eat and then take our annual visit to the Yule Cabin. It is a log cabin in the woods full of nothing but Christmas ornaments. The sheds are also decorated and my grandchildren can spend a fortune! We will meet my sister and whatever members of her family are free to join us...we do everything in herds in this family! We go every year and just love it...and no, you never get tired of seeing Santa sitting in the bathtub surrounded by penguin ornaments! The cabin has not been renovated much from the days a family live in it so each room has a theme. The first years we went there were only outhouse facilities... never will forget our first year out there and Sierra refused to use the outhouse...she was just a little girl and it was her first experience with the 'good ole days'! Jon has lived at work this weekend and he must get the furnace switched over to heat. Mornings are a little cool around here! Hopefully I will run in to him this evening. Leaving in an hour so better warm up the shower. Have a fun filled day everyone...

There is a robin singing and chirping away outside! Nice way to start the day, although it is still dark out.
Our dinner last night was a large group of people and the biggest barbecued roasts on the grill I have ever seen and I have seen a few over the years. One of Becky's friends brought ceviche and it was so good. I had heard of it on cooking shows but never had it. Not quite sure how to describe it, but raw veggies, shrimp and crab, I think, and a delicious bunch of seasonings. We ate it on chips.
Yesterday's shopping was a lesson in futility: Becky could not find one pair of petite pants at Kohl's. But did find a style she liked so will order it online at their site. I did find a cute top and a cardigan to go with it.
I shared a video of my niece's baby on Facebook. Her little dark eyes are so expressive.
Church and then I am going to another (best) friend's to take her a birthday gift. We have been friends for 29 years. We met when she was the Room mother for our kindergarten class and we just clicked. She is the one that I go to all the family dinners at her house.
Well, I hope you all have a good day and relax.
Elaine, I wish I could hear that piano! The picture you posted is so picturesque!

Good Mid-morning ... I have been up since 5am... but......Mark was here ..put the crock back up in the high cupboard , involves the step stool ..

then read awhile . got dressed and got involved in" why the air leak around the window in the front bedroom.."found a place where I could push in some material. and shut it out.. from there to the kitchen.. saw the coffee pot David uses every morning.. needed a good scrub.. and so goes the day.

Mark brought a big container of home made beef veg. soup.. not going out for lunch today!... besides the STeeler game starts at one. ( for D. not me... I get to read )...

my $50 gift card came from AAA.. at last.. one more step to do... and will get Karens help.. you have to go online and pick the restaurant of your choice. and then get a print out certicate with the Numbers on the card.. ..IF I EVER get involved with a promotional idea again... I will know I have lost my mind. ..never again...

Elaine, pretty picture ,,is that your church tho?..

Maxie, can I call you crazy without you getting mad at me?>>>> 3 hour drive!.. to see C. stuff...!!!!!!!!!!. . gonna lock you away somewhere...
remember this.... when you get to my age and see if you get/are as tired of all this "so early". C. stuff as I am.... I won't be here . but I will be nearby and poke you in the rib..

          Hi Paula , baby adorable
          Bethina, hope your feeling better.

and hi to you all... be back later to read..
Take it one Day , one step, at a time.. cause that's all we really have.

Good Afternoon. It's sunny but COLD out there. I actually clicked on the furnace to take the chill off the house.

Yesterday was SO DREARY it just drained me, but before I could sit down, I had to make a coconut cream and a banana cream pie. Was ready to finish them up with meringue when another customer's husband called and wanted 2 cherry pies in an hour & a half...right. During the pie season I could easily do that, but I had to make the cherry filling, then mix up some pie dough for top crusts. I had just pulled the pies out of the oven...literally...and they were knocking at my door.. Whew! Cleaned up and then headed into town to deliver the 2 cream pies and stop at Aldi's. Picked up all the supplies for the homeless shelter dinner our church is making this coming Saturday.

Cork went to an estate sale and called me. They had one of those grinders like I'd use for my apples for $10. Told him to offer them $8. He got it. I was so excited!!! He got home...it was one of those meat grinders. I have one and don't use it. I guess what you call what I was thinking of is a grinding mill. But when he said for apples, that's what I was thinking of. Oh well. We've wasted more than $8 before.

This morning was church & SS. I was the only one in my class, so I joined another class for the day. I think I may join that class on a regular basis now. Just got done mixing up 4 batches of pie dough, and now need to start rolling out shells. I used up almost all the ones I had in the freezer. Going to try a new recipe for lasagna made with tater tots. Going to take it for supper for cards at my SIL. Aunt Maye's granddaughter Shawna is going to be our 4th tonight.

            Have a good one all!

              Hi.
              Nothing much happening here today.
We almost got rain yesterday, but it only thundered here. The rain was somewhere else, though.
Today begins a run of days in the low 90's again. Just think, next weekend we'll be in weather in the 70's on the CA coast. 😊
              Have a great day, everyone.
