    Good Morning

I just reread yesterday posting... thanks for asking and caring about my and my long-suffering shingle neuralgia. it is letting up.. .tried again to stretch the hours between pills yesterday..hoping to drop to one pill a day.. did not work well.. by bedtime I was beginning to "twitch". my side was getting sensitive . so back to two pills .. and freedom from pain....

Making the pickled beets was kind of fun.. just doing it with Karen.. I got them on to cook early.they took hours to get done. they are what I call the fall crop of beets. and have an earthy tang to them. once they were pickled that was not noticeable . the 1/2 bushel make 11 qts and 9 pts ..I kept 5 pints. which will be plenty . I love them on salads.. and use them for pickled eggs.. but don't plan on making many eggs. too much Salt for David to eat very many...but had a great day with Karen here. got her to help with problem hunting something on internet.. and to look at the things in my grandmothers trunk.. the heirloom quilts. etc.. ask her if she wanted them . her answer.. I want them all and the trunk too.. .. as the only daughter. she is my choice to inherit this kind of stuff.
Also I gave my first piano lesson since July , to my boy student.. I really love teaching .. he lives within walking distance ,, has become chatty, and willing to learn .. yea... I will have one of the Sr.Girl this afternoon... just doing the finishing touches with her this winter . making sure of the basics.. she has been a joy to teach.

Beth , love hearing about your kitty.. and yes, spill proof drinking cup for you.. cats remain curious, playful and naughty for a long time. the best defense is to put away what you don't want broken or ruined. ...preventive measures... ..my K.D. is over 2 years old and still has a naughty spell at least once a day.. never leave the room where the computer and my papers, books are.. close the door. she has snagged the heck out of my front room curtains.. but I don't plan to replace them for another year.. ..

JoG. hope you are feeling better and better.
Sharon. I now appreciate a pain-free day a lot better. and will be very sympathetic when your Chromes acts up.
Hi Donna, Pat, Nalani, Elaine, SassyGirl,( where is my funny cat picture?)... Jostoy..Darla, Barb,
    Justy, hope you are well..

    see you all later.
Take it one Day , one step, at a time.. cause that's all we really have.

This time a year ago I was preparing my final load to move...can't believe its been a year already...time flies

Cori was absolutely a cuddle bug when I got home yesterday..we took a big nap and she layed on or near me the rest of the evening then slept most of the night with me. We both were up at 4. She got food then I went back to sleep. She is chasing a mosquito in my room..Ooops she lost it and is now telling me about how she can't get it.

Work today...then picking up meds and coming home...The buses are messed up this week so it takes twice as long to get home. They are down 2 drivers or something like that so they are having to alternate two of the routes and one of those routes is my route. So it takes up to 2 hours sometimes longer to get home..

I need to go to walmart to pick up a case for my new phone...not sure when that will be my sister will take me..so we will go when she can go. They are extremely busy at their house fixing their main bathroom.

Good Morning! The sky is dumping rain on us right now, but yesterday was absolutely perfect.

Yesterday was good. Before leaving, I made 4 apple dumplings to take down to the guys when I delivered their pies for the day. Then it was onto my PCP appt. When I arrived, I was told he was going to be 20 minutes late...fine. Then it was another 20 minutes I was told later. Then they came in and told me he was in a fender bender on the way and would be a little later. If I hadn't had to have some questions answered and Rx refilled, I would have rescheduled. The only thing I warned the lady was that I NEEDED his time and wasn't going to be rushed. He was 90 minutes late, but we had a very good visit and got lots of questions answered and Rx refilled...even some very old Rx that he didn't originally prescribe. He also was NOT happy with my A1C level and the insulin I was on, so he's going to call my Endo doctor and discuss with her a plan of action. He wanted me to at first and I must have given him a look and changed that he'd do it. LOL!!! He also told me how I could get a hold of him if I had questions so the staff would let him know to call me. He knows they are over protective. He also said he'd take on both of my girls as patients even though they are on the medical card at the moment. He's a wonderful doctor. He's new to the practice in the last year. He left a Pgh practice and came to Butler because he was tired of the politics and wanted to actually practice medicine. Love it!

After my appt I went to Dollar Tree to stock up on my 9" metal pie pans...they have the best for the price. Then onto the thrift store and then Aldi's. It was a great morning. Stopped by the stand on my way home to get paid since I had dropped off the pies early on my way to the doctor's office. Had a nice chat with Lew and the rest of the guys. They loved the dumplings. Need to tweak the syrup a bit. Came home and called to see if they had any day old corn I could buy from them so I could freeze some. Lew GAVE me 5 dozen and we even sat there and husk it. An older lady came to buy some corn and teasingly ask if we'd husk hers too, and we did. She was thrilled. Trying something new that Lew heard. I cut off the corn raw and froze it. We'll see if that works. It was way easier, quicker, and not as messy.

Corky actually requested something for dinner, so I made that and then took Blaise for a hair cut at Lori's....his last one from her before she moves. Cleaned up dinner & then started on making a giant choc chip cookie cake for my brother Tom's birthday tomorrow. He's working a 2am-2pm shift this week, so my SIL is sending it in with one of his co-wkr tonight. I got it made & decorated. Will drop it off @ my SIL on my way to Bible study this morning.

Bible study is all I have planned so far for today. I may come home and bake a couple carrot cakes to put in the freezer since I used the last one on Saturday. What? A day w/o baking any pies? Weird. They are going to have the stand open Saturday and if it's going to be a nice day, I'm going to bake a few pies. It was optional, but money is money, and we need it. Those pesky bills keep coming in.

      Have a good one all!

Good morning, all. Autumn seems to be creeping up on us here. Starting a cooling trend and the forecast is giving us a 58% chance of rain by Sunday. It has increased each day so please keep your fingers crossed for us on the west coast who have almost forgotten that water does occasionally fall out of the sky.

Not sure what I'll be doing today except cleaning up the living room. Want to ask one of the ladies here of she wants to join me in watching a Sandra Bullock movie I was telling here about.

Beth, your kitty seems like a lot of fun to be with.

Maye, keep taking those pills. Dr. wouldn't have given you the prescription if he didn't want you to use them. I love pickled beets. I haven't made any in years so I just buy them now. They aren't as spicy as homemade but good.

Donna seems like, for now, the pies have overtaken your cookies.

They have, but only for a season. October 1st I send out my Christmas cookie list to my customers and that fun begins. I haven't given up on the pies though. I'm rolling out & freezing tops & bottoms for future orders. I've also been giving out plates of cookies to some pie customers in hopes that they order cookies. It was cute. My one pie customer said she was going to get her Thanksgiving order in soon so she made sure she got one of my pies. Last year I maybe made 5 pies for Thanksgiving orders. It just didn't happen. Hope this year is different.

        Good morning!
Baby girl was born yesterday and was immediately taken to Primary children's hospital (very close to the UofU medical center) because she had a dime sized opening . The first picture I got was her just being born, so you iknow how that looks. The next picture was post surgery and the opening must have been in the chest somewhere because she was all gauzed up. She looks cute, a lot like my niece and weighed 6lbs. 14 oz and 19" long, so good size. She will need some surgeries and treatments for the lymphangioma, but just so thankful she is here and now we are waiting to see what they will name her...
Today is going to be a light day in daycare. Three kids are staying with grandmas today! Nice that it is all on the same day.
Hope you all have a good day and take it easy a bit, too!
Maye, I tell my mom the same thing: I want the quilts and the trunk, too! so far, she wants them for now...But at least she knows that I love them. I am the only daughter, too. ONe sister in law got a ton of things when her uncle and then parents died, so she doesn't have room for many more antiques...the other doesn't want them...
I better go see what I can do before the baby arrives here.
        Have a great day!

          Good morning everyone.

Slept in this morning real late for me. When I woke at around 5, it was raining so I just turned over and went right back to sleep.

I had planned to go to the Lake to do some moving of dirt, but clay is very slippery when it's wet, so I won't be going. My back could still use some rest from last weeks work anyway.

Have no other plans so far for the day. Will just play around on the puter, which only needs a little finger action. So as you can see, I don't plan on any real physical labor.

          Everyone have a good day.
Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured.

              Good morning to you all.
Today I'm dragging. I was awake at 3 a.m., and didn't get back to sleep before 5. We were supposed to go out to breakfast, but I'm bummed out. So neither yesterday nor today did I get a full night's sleep. 😲💤. E is going out to pick up milk and donuts now.

Yesterday the rains came at mid afternoon. E looked at the rain gauge from the porch and says we were getting more rain than it looked like....I am pretty sure we have reached the annual amount already, but the water tables can use more. The same weather and temps are forecasted for today and tomorrow. The sky has clouded over already.

I need to push myself to do something today. I don't like the groggy feeling.

Paula, I'm glad the birthing went well. I hope the surgery(s) baby needs will be a breeze for her.
Cookie, I hope your pie orders are good. I think our restaurant's Harvest Pumpkin pie is a bottom half of the filling being sweet potatoes, and the top layer pumpkin. This is probably a good time to have Apple Cranberry pie (maybe with a bit of citrus zest). And there's always mincemeat pie. I made it one year with diced apples, brown sugar, raisins, and a bit of orange zest. E loved it!

Maye, do take all the pills your doctor prescribes. It'll be easier on you.
I should talk, as I found the bottle with my last 2 Oxycodones in it. Well, for the most part, I didn't have a lot of the pain they expected me to have, and one day I forgot to take it I found out I didn't have the pains. But when my feet swelled really bad later, I took them when I needed to walk at the clinic and told the doc's when I did...but at the time it did hurt to walk. My docs were okay with it, though.

Well, I need to dress and face the day.
Had a cuppa mocha. ☕️ Will have breakfast when E returns.
Have a wonderful day. Be happy.

I make apple raisin pies for the stand regularly. That's the owners' favorite plus another farmer down the road who comes regularly.

Oh she got a variety plate. Started with the bottom layer with choc chip, PB, snicker doodles, oatmeal scotchies, and ginger snaps. Then the next layer is the fancier cookies...german choc, delicate wafer sandwich, thumbprints, maple twist, almond creams, choc cherry pecan, sugar, and maple thumbprints. The sugar cookies are in the shapes of pumpkins, ghosts, and oak leaves. My first picks would be the ginger snap and german choc cookies. Now I want a big ole glass of milk to go with them.
