    Good Morning.

sassy, we are blessed to have many gorgeous Cardinals, and I feel like we do have a slice of heaven here.
I read not long ago to create the life you want to live, not the life you want to take a vacation from, and I think we have.

Niece, nephew, and daughter coming from Dallas today and I want to cook for them, so better get busy.

Have a very lovely day, my Friends.

    Good morning everyone.

Not doing a lot today. I think I over-did Thursday as my back is letting me know it's time to rest. See the spine specialist Tuesday and hopefully he has an opening for an injection on Thursday. May have to slow down on my "physical activity" as the old back seems to not take what it use to and doesn't "recover" as easily as it use to. Sure hope Medicare has approved the new surgical procedure since I last saw the Dr. If not...it will be Jan. of 2017 as the last date they can approve it.

Everyone have a great day and enjoy your 4th holiday weekend.
Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured.

Morning headed to my sisters to water and feed animals...then the gas station...I am wanting some cold diet cokes...then the grocery store to pick up my contribution for Bible Study tomarrow. I think the theme is Mexican food and I have to take 2 bags of corn chips...

Plan for my day once I get back from my sisters is more sleep and hanging out with the bird...hoping it will come out of the cage more today and hang out with me. If not I will turn on its tv and come down stairs

Good Morning, nothing planned here. Today will be the family reunion for my Mom's side of the family, not sure if my sister will venture out to it or not, seems her hubby has reached a more settled state with the alzhiemers so she may try. She did get to go to the one for Dad's side of the family on Fathers Day and he did really good, sat in a chair in the shade and "talked" to people, wasn't up and wandering off. so someone had to be right behind him at all times. Since 2 of my dad's sisters had this, the family all understands and would come sit down and ask him how he was doing and then talk about the weather. Never tried the "do you remember me" stuff with him, which kept him pretty mellow.

I have a hubby who does not understand that . and suffers for it.. well, we both suffer, because he complains real loud. because it really hurts.. soooooo...,, ms. Jostoy... slow down!

I have cardinals that come to the winter feeder .. lovely but not too many come in close in the summer..( don't spend all your money in one place shopping SassyG. )

                Good morning, all.
76° outside right now, but going to 94°. The sun is shining, promising a nice day. 🌵 The forecast extended a 20% chance of rain, but I sincerely doubt it will happen today.

My ultra sound and other related test yesterday showed no blood clots. My ankle has started exfoliating, and the dark color is getting lighter. That's a good sign. Plus my foot has more range of motion now. I have some foot exercises I can soon get back to.

Nobody expected to come visit here this holiday weekend. Just us. E will be wanting to disassemble damaged stuff, and dispose of it. Goodbye, wishing well. 😥 I won't be replacing it. If heavy stuff is so vulnerable to the bad weather, it'll just happen again.

No other news here. Guess I'll decide on breakfast, or at least a cuppa tea. ☕️

                Have a great day/weekend/holiday.

No plans today...did dig out the vacuum so maybe other than stumble over it all day I will run it? Did all my running errands yesterday and put a stew in the crock pot. Found a left over pasta something in the freezer so will heat that for tonight. Not sure what it is but I must have thought it was worth freezing. Suppose to rain all weekend and last I heard the weatherman said 3 to 5 inches through Monday or up to Monday or whenever it stops. Not very nice Fourth of July weather but then again the 70s are not Fourth of July temps! Andrew's mothers side has a 3 day celebration planned at the farm and I am very disappointed for them. Things are boring here which should be good but to have some stimulation would be nice. Enjoy your holiday weekends and family and friends. Jostoy take care of your back. Pat, guess July and August are your biggies...don't let the tourist ruin your summer. I am off to shower and stare at the vacuum then warm up the surprise pasta dish. Full day for me!

                    Hey all!

Yesterday was spent in the kitchen most of the time. Made 2 pans of pirogi lasagna, iced the cake, and made deviled eggs. Had to go to the pool place to get another kind of chemical to get rid of the pretty green tint of the water. It's a whole science thing, but apparently when I filled it up the other day with our well water, the copper reacted with the chlorine. My SIL stopped with money to help with the pool expenses, and I went and bought the $70 strap kit to repair the ones on our cover that dry rotted. Cork & I went out for dinner and stopped at Home Depot. Becca didn't get home until almost 10pm.

This morning we had to go pick up Blaise from church camp. Becca came along as well as Kathy & Jimmy. He had a great time, but wasn't very excited to see us. We think he's tired. Not sure what my afternoon will bring. I know I have to bake the lasagna. Jimmy is coming to the picnic with Kathy and she's just bragging it up to him. He said his family gatherings usually consists of lots of alcohol, chips, and fighting with each other. We drink pop, water, & coffee, there will be TONS of good food, and nobody fights. Just lots of laughing & talking.

We have no plans for the 4th, but that's fine with us. Actually have a day to rest.

                    Have a good one all!

                      Sounds like fun, Cookie.
That lasagna sounds so good. The frozen pierogi isn't too bad, but it sure isn't tasting like the pierogies I grew up on.

Good morning! I got up and went to the store at 6:30 and have done the watering, treadmill, another coat of paint on the bathroom and kitchen windowsills. Paid some bills and now relax g a bit with you all.
Becky is at the painting stage in her project of re-doing a tv stand. She has sanded it and taken the doors off and now is starting to paint it. It was a 1950's light wood and she is painting it a flat black.
I am almost ready to go to Goodwill with more clothes to donate and then the bank. I am not sure how hot it is, but coming out of WM at 7:00 it was hot and my air had already kicked on.
Donna, your family get togethers sound like ours, both sides. Lots of talking, laughing and eating! But, not too many left to get together. Or too far away.
I am doing a barbecue for the three of us, then going to a late one for fireworks at a friend of Becky's. I am taking the layered cornbread salad and the baked beans with ground beef, different beans and bacon in it. My recipe calls it Calico Beans.
I want to refresh the flowers at the cemetery, too. Heat and sun fade them quickly.
Jo, good to hear your ankle is coming back to where it should be. I saw a restaurant featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives in north Phoenix and thought of you. I know you don't live there, but have visited family there, right?
Have fun with your bird watching, Beth!
I miss all the East Coast birds I used to see, Elaine. Can't wait to visit when my son gets moved to Maryland.
Enjoy your day and relax as much as you can!

Maxie, I'm with you, after getting use to the high 90's then drop to low 70's feels cold. Although I haven't dug out my sweatshirts yet.

                          Hi Paula.
I used to live in Phoenix, for nearly 10 years. It has changed since then
Restaurants come and go. Tucson just closed several, and some new ones are popping up. I think one, the Angry Crab, the is going to be a sushi bar. I'm no sushi fan.

Not long ago we saw one of those shows, about how the people in Detroit are faring in eating. Originally, we are from Michigan. NSo many buildings there are crumbling, but some people have "private" restaurants in their homes. Women & men cooking up ethnic foods of Puerto Rico, Greece, Deep South foods as cooked by slave descendents, etc. Some families have big smokers, cookers, set up in empty lots by their homes.....hot dogs, burgers, etc., then if the customer wanted something more, there'd be pots of various veggies simmering in the house, and someone would bring out a dish of whatever. All this because not much other employment is available there. They appeared to be doing a very good business.
One of the main interviewees who took them around to these places, gads, he looked so much like my ex. I wondered if they were related. The ex's dad was a womanizing cop in Detroit. 🙄
