  • Easter Vigil ~ Holy Saturday

    Good Morning, Friends. :

Easter weekend begins and we have no plans having to do anything with eggs. Truth be told, John cooks himself an egg every morning and I have to remove myself from the kitchen. There is something about an egg cooking that doesn't work for me. Now put some in a cake, and that's a different story.

Company last night that wants to come today and tomorrow, as well. I think it's a little much, but what do you do?

Hope everyone has a beautiful day.

Jo, I see you are here. Hope you are doing well.

Good Morning! The sun is suppose to be around for the next couple of days...yea! Yesterday was dreary but it didn't rain and was cold.

Yesterday I did decide to bake the choc & vanilla cupcakes and then decorated them all. OH MY WORD...the vanilla ones I made into yellow chicks like the Domino's ad showed. I tinted coconut then rolled the iced cupcake's icing in the coconut then put two mini choc chips on for eyes and then I used an orange mini M&M for the beak. CUTE!!! Made 2 doz of those. The choc cupcakes have choc PB icing and then of course the carrot cake ones have cream cheese frosting with an icing carrot on top. Found a pan of lasagna in the freezer, so I baked that for supper. Becca went to church with me for the Good Friday service.

This morning is more baking. A strawberry rhubarb pie for a customer and my nephew's coconut cream pie for tomorrow. Also need to make a big tray of cookies. We were given a gift certificate for the local Chinese restaurant, so we are going there for a late lunch. Not sure what the rest of the day will bring. Definitely not cooking supper. OH....have to color eggs with Blaise and try to find an Easter basket to put his stuff. I don't remember unpacking them.

    Have a good one all!

      Good morning!
When I can remove myself from bed without assistance, it's a good day. And, I'm glad to say, it's a good day.
(Despite the fact that my feet are still swollen; but I am at least walking with less pain! &#128522.

Today is the day my brother's surprise will arrive. 🎁 I'm pretty anxious with the anticipation.
Guess what?! Yesterday I received a surprise Get-Well gift from one of the stepdaughters. "Healthy" goodies (made with honey). Had to laugh, as the company had really packed them to arrive in good shape. That meant spending 20 minutes peeling away super strong layers of glue and tape.

Today I'm sending off an order for a few muu-muu style dresses. Easier to deal with than pants, right now. Will probably be giving my jeans to Goodwill. They interfere with my oscopy area.

It's really, really weird weather we are getting. Despite weather reports, the Indus barely cease. It should be a lovely day today & tomorrow, in the mid-80's. Monday will drop to the 70's again. I'm not putting winter clothes away quite yet. But this coming week will be chilly, if not cold.

Will let you know what my brother's surprise is after it arrives today.

Have a great weekend, everyone. 🐰

          Good morning!
Elaine, I hope you don't have to provide all the food for every visit.
Jo, happy it is a good day there! I have received packages like that, too. Did the doctors give you dietary restrictions?
Yesterday was busy, fun and tiring. I will be out and about locally today. The freeway was very busy with Oregon and Washington cars and RV's going south and just lots of cars and trucks gong north...Soring Break on the West Coast. One of my daycare families is going to Disneyland for break and another to San Francisco and Monterey.
I will be shopping around for some flowers to plant in my containers out front and for some good artificial flowers for a Spring wreath the church girls want to put together for a couple who live in a senior center here. I will give them the basics of designing a wreath and let them put it together. I have made a lot of wreaths for my mom and myself and as they fade, take them apart and re-do them. Most of mine and all of hers are made on grapevines from our grapes.
I didn't shop for food, yet...best laid plans and all...so, I will be braving the store, but going just as soon as I finish this to beat the crowds.
This coming week our Super Center opens. I, for one, welcome having another choice for shopping, rather than driving 30 miles. We have an expensive grocery store and a bag your own less expensive store right now. And a Dollar General market, but I rarely go as the selection in meats and produce is very small.
Hope your weather holds and your day is great!

Lost two messages so will not write again if this is lost. Haven't slept in the last couple of nights and I am tired. If being in a mood would affect my appetite I would have the body of a starlet but, alas, I am turning into a piglet! I need some hot hot sun on my head... Good to see you posting Jo.

              Aloha all!

Huge storm last night during dinner. Lots of lightning, thunder (which Hawaii doesn't have all that often) and then rain coming down in sheets. A couple of apartments on the third floor have leaks. Headquarters need to FIX the roof and so far they don't want to spend the money. Good grief. Anyway during this they brought in Bim's birthday cake and that was shared by all. He had a pretty nice birthday over all. And just after dinner here come the firetruck and ambulance and a resident was taken to the hospital. Am not sure what happened. A really wild evening here. Oh yes, only two manager (both women) trying to handle all this and really they did a great job keeping their cool.

Today it isn't too Voggy and nice and clear.

Good to see you posting, Jo. Yes, muu muus would really be a lot easier for you. They are worn around here all the time.

As someone mentioned, Elaine, I hope you don't have to provide all the food. You can also say that you and John need to rest and you can't visit right now.

Maxie, hope you can get some sleep.

              Have a good day all!

My brothers package arrived! It's a bouquet spring flowers and yellow lilies, with birds and butterfly tucked in, and a get-well balloon.
Funny. I heard the doorbell, and yelled "wait!" a few times, as I made my way to the door. The delivery lady is older than I am, and half deaf to boot. She couldn't hear the doorbell, nor my yelling to wait. I was lucky she waited, but she stood there not knowing what to do.

Later E returned with some medical supplies. Plus a jug of Jelly a Bellies. Plus a dozen long stemmed orange/yellow/salmon colored roses. And heated potato/cheese/bacon soup for lunch.

If the winds don't quit, the Easter 🐰 Bunny won't find his way to the kids here.
