    Morning all

Dr. visit for Erin yesterday again. They repeated the strep test which came back negative AGAIN! Dr. still insists it is viral. But he did give her scripts for pain and for nausea. I gave her some antibiotics I had from when I had my tooth out recently and she is taking them in spite of the doctor's diagnosis. Hopefully she will get better quickly!

Yesterday was a completely wasted day off. We were in the doctor's office 3-1/2 hours! The waiting room was FULL of screaming toddlers when we arrived. *sigh*

I did manage to pick up Erin's scripts, and we made a trip to a new Piggly Wiggly (grocery store) that opened recently. GREAT buys there - we got some beautiful T-bone steaks for $3.58 a pound! THREE beautiful steaks for under $20! We also picked up a frozen pizza - don't remember the brand, but it was only $6. We baked it when we got home and it was totally delish. We will definitely be buying that one again.

Working today but off again tomorrow. Got a friend request from an old pal I haven't talked to in 15 years on FB yesterday. She PM'ed me her phone number and we talked for over an hour yesterday. SO great to catch up!

Elaine - found that dang snake yet?

So I'm off to drink some coffee and get this party started. Y'all have a good 'un!

The only person you should try to be better than is the person you were yesterday.

    Good Morning.

Pat, I was so hoping to hear Erin was on the mend. 3 1/2 hours! Oh my!

No can't find the snake. I'm sick of looking around baseboards and in corners everytime I make a move. John just keeps saying it will show up. Probably in my bed.

We have had 10" of rain and it is still raining - 12 hours now. We aren't complaining. No worry about flooding here, but some in the towns around us are having issues.

Our "local" weather is broadcast from a tv station 90 miles from here, and last night they asked people to report rainfall totals on the station's website. Several hundred people responded, some even added photos of their rain gauges. I just LOVE social media!

Well, onward and upward. Have a good day!

Speaking of birds and squirrels, we always have squirrels, but now that pecans are falling, we have about 2 dozen crows on the property. John is picking up pecans like mad, but I think the wildlife has him beat. Then the crows all go together to the trough to drink, and the cows are having to compete with them, too. LOL

Good Morning! The sunrise was beautiful this morning.

Yesterday was nice. Spent most of it in the kitchen...surprise, surprise. The night before I cooked the chicken for the dish I was making for dinner yesterday, so I used that broth and made Corky a big pot of soup. I had bought earlier in the week 13lbs of hamburger and made up the sloppy joes for an event at the church in a couple of weeks. They ask me about doing it on 11/6, but that's when my friend Maureen is coming, so I just made it and froze it for them. Made Becca's requested dinner of Creamy Chicken. She got home around 4:15pm. It's nice to have her home. She was very glad to be home.

Today I'll be making a ham dinner. My Mom, brother Tom, and SIL will be coming after the football game at my niece's college and our friend Sandy will be coming too. After dinner, my brother & SIL have to go to Bible study, so after they leave & we get cleaned, those of us left will play cards.

Time to get busy.....have a good one all!

        Good Morning
...had to step out on porch to feed the stray kitty... and 55 seems warm... after a few mornings of 38's... but we are definitely sliding down into That. season .. cold. wet. heavy coats .. sigh.. can't be changed , might as well live with it.

a semi-unbusy day ahead... maybe catch up on a few small jobs that have waited for my attention... sorting out some music to give away ..etc etc. Made a batch of D. strawberry jelly yesterday.. moved things around in the freezers..should have made a list of what was in them..

Elaine,, oh no.!.... did John see it , so you know what kind of snake it is?.. aggg..
Pat. is Erin still going to Pediatrician?. would have been tempted to take her to regular Dr. and setting in a waiting room that long means they are way overbooked!... or Drs. got delayed somewhere...
Donna,,, nice to have Becca home ... hope I get to see her... how long is her break?. or is it just weekend?.

Hi Justy.. hope you got some rest and are feeling good this morning .

same thoughts to you Jostoy.. ... come play Bingo with us in Games.

HI Jo S... Prayers that things are better at your house.

JoG.. how are you feeling today.? is it warm and sunny yet?

        HI Darla. and Hrh.
Sharon .. if you are just reading .. I miss you already... ... enjoy your family
Bethina..Your days will fall into a routine soon. be Happy!

Nalani... spare sunshine can be sent my way,...
HI Barbca. and you other sleepyheads...

Hi Kim, Kathy, , Lisa, Cynders...Miss you guys ..
and so many more of you ...

Good morning..quiet day here...I have already ridden my bike to my sisters and to the donut shop then home..My sis and her family are away until this evening and she asked before they left if I would please put the trash can up by the house this morning...so I got up and did that before the rain comes..I didn't much care for riding in the rain.

I need to do a load or two of laundry today as well.

            Good morning, early birds!
I'm doing fine here, Maye! Looks like clear skies here; its 57° right now, but going to 84° for a few days. One needs an extra layer of clothes for morning (possibly evenings as well), which can be shed as the weather warms during the day.

I need to make a run to the store today for a few things.
-Also need to get E to remove the trash from the house today. I took a big ham bone out of the freezer yesterday, and cooked it to get the remaining meat off of it. Forgot to wrap the thing before tossing it in the trash, so the house smells strongly of the ham. I made mac & cheese with the ham bites thrown into it yesterday.

I need to get back to the baby blanket I started. Time will pass quickly before that baby shower after the holidays.
Speaking of baby showers, I think the rule used to be - years ago - that you only had the Shower for the first baby. Now, every new baby seems to have one.
With my 5 kids, I never had a baby shower at all. Being military and living in a community of other young, needy military wives, I did get a lot of used baby clothing given to me....we gave to each other as we needed to discard things. I bough used cribs, play pens, even a wringer washer, really cheap....the washer was most expensive at $10 ! After the 1st baby, they assumed you have already collected all the basics. My first 2 babies were born in the same year, so they shared the crib.

Elaine, your weather is coming from the Pacific side of South America, hurricane Patricia, and is expected to go through Mexico and get to the bottom bit of Texas before it stops. Hope it knows that. 😉 Sounds like the scenery is gorgeous with the wildlife today.

Pat, I do hope Erin gets over her "viral tonsillitis" quickly. Doctors can be wrong. One yelled at me in the waiting room for bringing a young daughter in 4 days in a row, and "nothing" was wrong with her. I yelled back that her temp continued to rise each day, and she couldn't eat or breathe well now! So he took her in and looked more closely, to find she had Inverted Mumps, and only then treated her --- without apology. So don't hesitate to take her back, or go to ER, if she doesn't start getting better. I do think they should print on their certificates what their standing was in class at graduation time. Top 10 % ? Or the lower half of the class?
            Love the graphic today!

Well, guess I'll grab a bit of breakfast, then find my chores for today.
Have a great day, no matter the weather. 😊

good morning! I can't believe we all slept in till 6:30! I was up letting our old dog out a few times last night so it felt great to,just wake up, not to an alarm.
              But now, I feel behind...
I thought I would be cooking a dinner for a family whose mother had to go into the hospital for emergency surgery....well, I got an afternoon call to please take in the food last night! I didn't have anything in the freezer to thaw and make for a family with 5 kids and a dad, called about pizza and after hearing the price for two large family sized pizzas, I decided to go to the store and buy chicken, salad, dressing, rolls, ice cream, Oreos, and milk. I had coupons for rotisserie chickens so it turned out the same price as buying the pizzas. I now think I will do as Donna did for the church meal and make up sloppy Joes and freeze it. I just didn't have time to shop, cook and deliver in time for dinner after daycare yesterday. Today on Facebook I saw the mom had posted her kids loved the meal....I told her husband I will cook a homemade meal when Christie gets home. Both their families are out of CA, so between her office ( Blue Shield) and church, we are trying to fill in.
I read Pat's new blog post. And all of your posts here.
Elaine, I think the snake is gone. Or curled up hibernating. Do you have a cat or a little dog ( or a friend with a little dog) that can sniff around? On the plus side ( not really), you shouldn't be bothered with mice...
Maye, I am going to the used book store today. I check eBay for titles and then the used store and then decide.
Hope your Saturday goes well, everyone!

Good Saturday morn. to everyone......nothing interesting or exciting happening here. Just 2 old, worn out souls trying to get rested up from the last project before we start a next one. Looks like that one will be with a brush. If you're handy in that department......stop by -- am sure there's a spare you could use.

                Enjoy your week-end.

Sounds as if every one is busy but me. I had a snooze on and off morning. Sure felt good! Got up with a cramp in my leg. Passed quickly thank goodness. Just had my lunch and now am waiting to take my breathing treatment. I popped another potassium pill as it is low and must have gone lower with all the Lasix.

Rainy day here today. So if Grandson makes it this afternoon and wants to work it will be something other than power wash house.

Stay safe and enjoy your weekend.

                    Aloha all
                    !

Maye, I'll try to send you some sunshine. Might be a little difficult to get in an envelope or box though.

Paula, good suggestion to Elaine. Should have no problem of mice with a snake on the loose. But a cat on the prowl might find it. Then again if the snake got in maybe it found its self out again.

Yesterday our bus took about 12 of us to lunch in Makawao yesterday to a Mexican restaurant and it was quite good. I saw a Mexican cook in the kitchen so it must of been pretty authentic. Had a chimichunga and brought half of it home for my supper last night. Makawao reminds me of Bisbee Arizona--both have turned into funky artist sort of places with lots of little eateries and gift shops. Bisbee used to be a mining town and Makaway a cowboy/plantation town and now artist sort of towns. It was a fun day.

Have no special plans for today.

                    Have a good day all!

Nalani, that's about all Bisbee is any more...eateries and gift shops. We went to a Mexican place for lunch when my brother visited. Run by Mexicans. I guess that makes it authentic, not necessarily good.
Wish we'd have gone to SV 's Cantina instead. Their food tasted better.
The shops seemed overpriced with their offerings. Nothing in them caught my eye. I don't think I'm jaded, I think they've gotten lazy about what they offer.
I never was too excited about the train ride into the mines, but that seemed to top everything else there.

Bisbee used to be a good filming site. Many a movie of "foreign" places was filmed there in earlier years.
East of Tucson, southward to Sonoita, were also places where Westerns were filmed. Actually, tracts of land from here to California were used for many westerns. We were watching an old Gunsmoke program, and by golly, I recognized the Chirichua mountains ... I mean, that place is very distinctive!!!
And believe me, Kansas doesn't have mountains and huge boulders that they show in the gun fights .
If you're thinking "the Old West", it's kinda believable.....if you've never been through Kansas. LOL

Oh...E had a business trip in El Paso once...all the Mexican dishes were covered in a full inch (or more) of cheeses. We asked for no jalapeños, so everything was pretty tasteless. I guess I'll stick with Americanized-Mexican dishes if we have to go Mexican. I understand Mexico City is totally unlike the Tex-Mex stuff here. I did try a molé dish once.....never again. Chocolate gravy? I think it ruined an otherwise good dish.

It seems I get all my sleep in little snoozes. Just finished my 1:00 AM breathing treatment. Since it was raining this afternoon Grandson worked inside for me. He put a stainless steel commercial grade cart together I just receive. Cleared out the pantry. Now the cart has a home in there with some small appliances on it. Now I can just roll them into kitchen when I want to use them. I have learned many ways to make it easier to save on the breathing this last year.

He also put up a new clock in the small bedroom where I take all these breathing treatments. Each one takes a half hour. I have been picking up a book to read and the time goes faster. Pleasant change to read again as I had avoided reading for quite some time now.

I'd like to have my Grandson do all the cleaning instead of the cleaning lady. He does a much better job! But I will just get him when time permits as his dad is trying to teach him to be a plumber.

A younger grandson came over for me to order an xbox for him with his dad's credit card on line. That didn't work out well. We never did find what he wanted. I finally told him to find it and come back over today and we would order it. Grandma got tired of looking as I don't know the first thing about them anyway. LOL

Grandsons and Granddaughters are such a blessing ... ours have helped with so much .. but their time is limited... my one granddaughter,S. will
drop what she is doing and come help me... she only lives a couple miles away... I am close to her. 22yrs ago, her Mom was working when she was a baby and I baby-set her from the time she was 6-weeks old until she was 3 1/2 yrs old. 4 days a week... we bonded good. love my other 3 gr daughters too.but there is a special sparkle between S. and I.
good news that you are breathing better Justy.
