    Morning all

It's my day off - and how do I get to spend it? Taking Erin back to the doctor. She is no better - in fact, she's a bit worse. No relief with the tonsils and she cannot keep food down. And fever too. Poor kid. She made it through her mid-term exams, but barely.

Chris cooked a fab dinner last night - beer-braised rib end pork roast, mashed taters & gravy, carrots cooked with the roast, steamed broccoli with butter and Parmesan cheese, and crescent rolls. It was the best pork roast I've ever eaten!

So I'm gonna drink my coffee and then start getting ready to go sit in the doctor's office and wait for hours again.

    Y'all have a good 'un.

The only person you should try to be better than is the person you were yesterday.

Good Morning, Pat and All !!

Hoping Erin gets over this mess. Glad you have a day off, Pat.

Well, it's raining. I mean actual water. After record-setting amounts in the spring, nothing since April until now.

No sign of snake. Monthly newsletter finished. Today nothing.

    Have a good day, Everyone.

Feeling a lot better but am going to take the morning off for some much needed rest. A Grandson baked several batches of cookies yesterday and made a huge pot of chili. Most of which is in the freezer or given away. Cleaning lady came and did her thing. In the afternoon Grandson tore into my frig in the kitchen. Does it ever look good inside now. With all the work going on around me I didn't get any rest time so today is my day!

Saturday my Grandson is going to power wash my house. I pay him of course but it sure helps and frees up his dad and uncle from having to do all the extra work for me. Grandson is 34 years of age. Loves to cook and used to work in a bakery. (an added bonus!)

Off to get dressed and meet another day. Am actually looking forward to the days now that I can breathe better and not gasping for breath all the time.

        Have a good day everyone.

          Good morning everyone.

Took yesterday off from working. So today it's mowing the yard and chewing up the leaves. Trees are starting to get pretty fall colors to them.

Hope all have a nice day.
Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured.

            Good Sunny Morning!

Yesterday was good. Didn't accomplish much. I got the ordered apple pie made before going to Bible Study. Got home & the couple arrived to pick it up. It was the first time we've met since they normally bought my pies at the farm stand. The apple pie was for card club which they were heading to right after picking up the pie. I gave them my lists & a small plate of cookies to sample. I told them I've made pies in 2 hrs when people suddenly need a dessert, and they ask if they could order a cherry pie for after card club, so I whipped off a cherry pie for them. Thank you Lord for the extra income! Needed it. Corky's unemployment with Ohio is now finished & now he's applied with PA, but that won't start until November. Anyways, after they picked up their pie about mid-afternoon, I then headed to Aldi's. Leftover for dinner...finally.

This morning Corky has a job interview. He's going to apply at a couple other places on his way home. We are praying he gets a decent steady job locally. Working for the union is great....when they are working. Also, you are almost guaranteed that the job site will be at least an hour away. It would be nice if he could work somewhere only 5-20 minutes away.

Today I'm just preparing for the weekend of company. Becca is coming home late this afternoon after her last class. This evening we are just relaxing and watching all the Scandal episodes I've recorded since she left. Then the next few evenings we are playing cards with family & friends. We play the game Hand & Foot. The guys think it's a stupid game, but us ladies enjoy it. It's usually me, my Mom, SIL, and one guest, but this weekend we'll have Becca. Becca hasn't been home since she left mid-August even though we are now only about 50 minutes away. Btw her jobs on campus, sorority meetings, and other activities, she's been too busy to come home or for us to visit. We did visit her on Labor Day.

BTW..concerning yesterday's post....it was 5 YEARS not 5 hrs we lived in Freeport. Aunt J got the biggest laugh over that.

            Have a good one all!

              Good morning. 😄
Would you believe that it's registering 52° here right now? It's supposed to get up to 78° today, though.
The house is a bit chilly right now,, but not enough to turn on the heat. The next rain is predicted for next Friday. Halloween looks like clear weather now.

Had my PT/INR test yesterday. It looks like it's a bit on the low side, but not seriously yet. It's only a fingertip puncture test now, but my fingertip is still bruised. The other Doctor does it better. This gal is young, a new doctor there. Since I have an appointment next month at another clinic, they will be drawing the blood along with other tests, just add the extra vial to the lot, so no fingertip problems then.

Stopped at Safeway yesterday. Pork chops were on sale, BOGO. So I stocked up. Beef tip roasts were also on sale, but E asked me to skip that. He is losing his taste for beef. I also got what appears to be pork tenderloin, but in smaller packages. Cooked one yesterday. So, had pork medallions last night. Will either dice or shred the other half to go on salads.

I started cutting back my tomato plants the other day. Want to keep the parts still producing, for now. Have some nice green tomatoes that I hope will start ripening soon.
Definitely have some laundry to do today.

Pat, it must be nice to have a guy who can plan and cook dinners! Hope the doc gives Erin some relief!
Elaine, do you think "snakey-poo" found its way back outside? It's possible.
Justy, it does feel like chili-weather is approaching now.
Cookie, I wonder if I could get a pie out in 2 hours! But you sure know your customers, and are prepared for them. I'd like a pig-out session with some of tour cookies, though. Unfortunately, it's imperative that I get my weight back down.

Hi Maye, Jostoy , and all who will follow.
              Have a great day! ☀️

Good morning....Volunteering yesterday was ok...I think that I will like it more and more as time goes on....I am having to learn how to deal with certain clients and their behaviors...The staff tell me to ignore it..

I am having trouble figuring out what it is that they want me to wear to the meeting stuff in Saint Louis on Wednesday...thats pretty frustating for me...they tell me to dress proffessional wear what I would wear to an interview so I do that only to have them tell its all wrong...

plans for today...sweep the floors and watch tv.

Bethina what do they wear? How about a black or navy blue skirt or dress slacks and a simple white top and either a cardigan to match the skirt or a blazer style jacket to match? Low heeled dress shoes? No shirts with logos or words on them...
                  Good luck!
Pat, hope Erin gets relief and really hope this isn't the beginning of a long night bout of tonsil issues. That roast sounds delicious! Perfect to put on the blog!
It is 55 and going up to the low 80's.
Today is my oldest child's birthday. 41! Funny how I can still remember so many details of that day!
Donna, sounds like a great weekend with Becca coming home.
I am not sure what this weekend will bring. Being away last weekend means catching up and just doing things around the house. I am taking a dinner to a family whose mom is in the hospital and whose dad just got a job on the graveyard shift. I think I will get a ham and also a potato dish ( it is called funeral, potatoes, but I usually call it " that potato casserole"). The family has 5 kids, all into sports and probably eat a lot...
My flower bed is overflowing with chrysanthemums! The begonias are totally hidden with them. One of my outside goals for the weekend is to decorate. I have some nice autumn leaves and pumpkins to put out.
Have a great day and hope the waiting room moves right along for all in the dr. Office.

Had a very nice day with my sister. Bought a 1950's telephone bench and had a young man ask me what it was when we carried it out. Boy did we laugh! Sis kept it to refinish in her magical way and make a seat cushion. I cannot wait to get it home. Last night I was telling Jon and he had to look it up on the internet. Guess it is a toss up...they don't know the past and I have no desire to learn the future. I picked out a paint and bought a sample jar only to find it is very gray while the sample showed it to be blue. It is blue on my thumb but gray on the cabs. Think I will keep looking but can't afford to many more sample jars...wow! But it is the kitchen cabs and I want them to be a center piece not like some industrial compound. Rain predicted but nothing here yet. Haven't seen Drew all week and I miss him...kid makes me laugh. Tomorrow Jon wants to take the kids to the Spaghetti Factory and celebrate Sierra's acceptance into the OT program. She loves the place and we seldom go. Today is laundry...again! and emptying the trash cans. No sees an over flowing trash can but me. They will take out a tied bag but no one will take it out of the waste basket. Strange what they see and what I see. Two different worlds!
