  • EASTER SUNDAY!...

    Good Morning all.

May this be a happy Easter Sunday for each and every one of you..

will be putting my pies together as soon as I leave the computer.... should be done and cleaned up . will have to be at church by 10...to get a back row seat..........I sometimes wonder how a people -oriented person like me married a "loner" like David...but it has lasted 63 years so some how we managed to make it work.

family dinner will be at 4ish.. more like 4;30ish... but I think I have all that meal prepared for... Gd Shawna came to my rescue on how to do an egg hunt for older Grand Children...finding the eggs , no big deal.. it will be in the opening of each egg around the big table one by one.. there are instruction inside some of them . we turned that part into a game.. should be fun...

better drink the last bit of my coffee and get to work.

Paula . will go check out the post about autism... ( I read yesterdays post first this morning )..
Folks, I have the dearest sweetest niece in the world.. love you Donna.. I will have to take my sister out for lunch .. maybe find out whats making her so sour-pussed these days...

    HAPPY EASTER!
Take it one Day , one step, at a time.. cause that's all we really have.

Good Morning! Happy Easter! He is Risen! He is Risen indeed!!!!

Yesterday was a pretty sunny day, but a very chilly. This morning is sunny....finally...my day started at 5;15am....sunrise service at the church cemetery at 6am.

Yesterday was better than the day before here at home. Lori re-curled my hair. Got home and my husband's brother came. He joined us for lunch. We got the cups ready for coloring eggs. Blaise got to put the eggs in the cups. To keep him busy, we took him or a walk. He didn't come back in with us and never ask about the eggs again. Becca & I finished doing the eggs. I saved out 4 of them to make deviled eggs for supper. After slice them in half, I dipped each one in the food coloring so our eggs were a nice brilliant color. Made a quick trip over to visit Aunt J and then we went to check out a big 4 bdrm apt. Not the one for us. My brother & his family came over for a dinner of leftovers. We played cards until it was time for them to go to the airport to greet their friends coming back from a mission trip in the DR. Becca, Mom, & I continued playing Hand & Foot for the rest of the evening & had a nice time. Mom & I stayed up to get the baskets ready & plastic eggs ready for the hunt later today.

This morning Corky, Becca, & I went to Sunrise service. It was very nice. Came home & got the pie out to thaw, and other little prep things done...for now. Everyone is sleeping again. Think I'll do that next too. Will get up & start preparing Easter dinner. Everyone will be here around 3pm. Will have to start thinking about get stuff ready to pack the car so we can leave early tomorrow morning around 8am. It's been a nice visit Home.

      Have a blessed day all!

Good morning, and a happy Easter to you all. 🐰
This morning I can open the big jar of jelly beans we bought. E also bought me a handful of the dark chocolate Kit Kat candy bars. 😄 He was very adamate about NOT buying his favorite Cadbury eggs, though.
I did have to go out and find egg-dying cups. I have no idea where all mine went. E bought the last box of cups, which contained cool-water color tablets for each one. I don't think they came out as nice as the hot-water dyes.

Last night - the full moon - and heaven only knows what was going on. About 11 p.m. There were guys racing motor bikes. Loud-running cars. Helicopters (a few, apparently) searching the area....I quit counting at their 8th pass over our yard, but their sound was audible for some distance. I have no idea what-all went on or for how long. In general, I'd say there was at the least a robbery.

No plans for today. Dinner will be a little special today, but I really bought the ham for E. It is not my favorite food. 😝 I will load up more on the veggie stuff. I'm making deviled eggs today, too. This morning we will have nuked-egg sandwiches. E's will have bacon & cheese. Mine, plain. That reminds me, I need my morning mocha!

Have a beautiful holiday. Think chocolate! 😄

Paula.... Maye mentioned something about Autism in your FB. That's something I really need to read up on, and hear others' experiences. I have a great-grandaughter who obviously has it. She is about 4 now, I think. Her Dad definitely carries the gene for it. In many ways she is smart as a whip. She can count and read. Only limited by her little obsessions.
Both parents work from home; there is no daycare for her, and her other grandma refuses to deal with her. Sometimes her auntie comes over to give her mom a break. Sometimes her mom just brings the child to *her* mom's house (many caring people there) when she has to have a break.
Also, we have to be very careful of toys we give her. Some toys will set her off screaming. So far, things that are soft, have lights, lilting music, and "happy" looking things are okay. I've seen her just a handful of times.

Oh, happy Easter! I set our table last night so Becky got up to a fully decorated table and chocolate bunnies and candy for placecards.
Elaine, your bunny graphic is so cute!!!
I have pork tenderloins in the crockpot, Becky made a lemon cake, I will make the fruit salad (step two: bananas cut up), do the vegetables, and my mother made her potato salad, which she hasn't made in a very long time. And neither she nor I know how to make anything other than the family size we always make! So leftovers will be on the menu, except for the cake. I am eating dessert only on the weekend...
Church and our sky is looking like the rain will come. It rained really hardlast night for about 10 minutes. I had the tv on and thought the noise was on it, then turned it off and I could hear it really coming down. Believe me, that would be an Easter blessing.
Jo, I will get some information and email it to you. I know only one girl with autism, and she also has Down Syndrome so it is not the same...the others with Autism I know are boys. Owen, my grandson is "high functioning" which means at first you might not notice anything different form a typical child his age. Spend a bit of time and you can tell he operates on his own focus...he is not a team sport person, but more of an individual like bike racing, and just happier doing his own interests (road signs, even international!).
Anyway, our family is blessed by him and all the other little rascals!
Enjoy this day of Joy and Gladness! Love what donna said: He is risen!

I would love that, Paula. Thank you.
Her Dad 'looks' like he has Down Syndrome, so I'm not certain that Emmie will have it. The dad doesn't appear to have signs of autism, though, but does carry the gene. I suspect that these conditions can be had in "degrees". His Mom is an "oddball"... a lower-IQ person, definitely not a "people person". At Emmie's 1st birthday, she was mad because my GD bought 2 or 3 different ice creams to go with the cake. But she wanted something else, and was being nasty; so GD went out and got the nearest thing she could find to it. Then the woman pitched another fit, because it wasn't the right one yet. ??? I'm not sure if it was the brand, the size of chocolate chips, or what. I think she just wanted to be 'witchy', insulting my GD in front of everyone. GD ignored her, I give her credit for that. If it wasn't that woman's home, I'd have told her she looked like she didn't *need* ice cream or cake. She is a very large, sloppy-looking person. (Well, no, I wouldn't have told her that, but I was tempted. That wasn't called for.) But I don't know what problems she has, or why she likes/ needs to pick on people. I wonder what broken genes SHE has.
