  • Saturday ~ Dec. 27th

    Morning all

It's Saturday - and I only have to work 8-12 today. YAY!

We signed the lease for the new house in town yesterday afternoon. Now the packing and moving begins. Can't WAIT!

I'll have to post pix of the new house when I get time to take some and upload them.

I'm off to have more coffee and get to the office. Y'all have a good 'un!
The only person you should try to be better than is the person you were yesterday.

    Good Morning.

Pat, great news about the house. Yes, we want photos!

More company coming from Dallas today, but I don't have to cook for them. Thank goodness. I don't think I could at this point.
It's been great seeing all of these relatives, but I think it's easier to have them all at one time. LOL

Got to do a little sprucing up this morning and make plans for tomorrow's dish for church.

    Have a good Saturday, Everyone.

Oh dear! Just looked at the radar and snow is in N Texas. Hope it doesn't make its way here.

Good morning Pat and Ladyebug. Pat, congrats on the house. There is nothing like getting the house you want and the best part is making it your home. New Year, new home, new beginnings! Ladyebug, you have cooked up a storm this holiday season and I bet you are the primo entertainer, but it's time for you to rest a bit and snuggle in for winter. Did you ever make the spicy nuts with your pecans? I bet you would love them and your DH too! I don't have the recipe now, but I'm pretty sure I found it on Better Homes & Gardens. That's www.bhg.com. Fa, La, La!

I have started twice to write and something ends up freezing the backspace arrow, si , I mean so, I am typing slowly, and not using it.
Not much around here to do. I am taking clothes to the hospice thrift shop this morning and will start some decorating in the daycare. Take down Santa and put up Frosty...
I am done with cooking for awhile. Now to some lighter foods.
Can't wait for those pictures, Pay, um, Pat.
Have a relaxing day, everyone. At least stop between all your Saturday errands and relax a bit!

          Good morning.
It's too early for this cold weather to hit the desert. Climate change, I suppose.
We have 29° right now, and hard freeze warnings through Sunday. Hi temps in the low 50's.
No particular plans for today. Catch up on the puddly chores here, I guess.

I think I'm kinda glad we have no relatives visiting. The hairdresser was telling me both sets of families are visiting. She has to juggle them with her business, and apparently some resent that. She's trying to get everyone to see who and where they want to visit. Her sister is a piece of work. She invited the hairdresser and hubby for early dinner, 4 p.m. Hairdresser brought a prime rib roast, and put it on the table....only to see leftover foods and used plates there. Hairdresser asked "what's this?" Sister said, "Eat whatever you want, we've already eaten. (Snotty tone)". Hairdresser said, "Why? I'm just a few minutes late, but it couldn't be helped." Sister got snotty again. So Hairdresser & hubby started to leave. Hairdresser told hubby to wait in the car. Then turned to reply to whatever Sister said. Sister scooped up the Prime Rib and threw it at her, hitting her in the face. Hairdresser just threw it down on the floor and left, still not understanding what the fuss was about.
I exclaimed, "Geez, all that and you STILL let her live?" The Sister's attitude sounds much like my Mom. I never knew what set her off. Every time she did, I'd be disowned for a number of years. But Hairdresser is likely to go through that same thing with her sister yet again. For the New Year, Hairdresser's hubby will be taking her for a trip to someplace very cold (her favorite environment, not his), where they can just relax and veg-out, and get away from everything for a little while. She says it was his idea, so she owes him forever for that!
Who needs that kind of drama?

Well, now I have to decide whether to have a hot drink or go back for a catnap? I think beverage and breakfast will win out. I can't sleep as late as E does, so I'll have some quiet time yet.

We have no plans for the upcoming New Year. They've taken the good music away from the celebrations, it's just the modern-day noise that passes for music now. The hosts seem to think they're important celebrities these days, rather than enjoying the event with the audiences. So we might watch a few taped movies, or listen to our old favorite music. Early to bed, at our age. We really don't have traditional dinners. Just get something we like. Little Ceasar's has a great little pretzel-crust pizza...,.,,,
          Have a good day, everyone.

Spent yesterday cleaning and mopping....eating left overs. Leaving for my sisters soon. Weatherman says rain and that will determine if I stay over or not. Then tomorrow I'm going to settle in for the winter and make plans for summer. In five months it will be May!

                Good morning all!

Very cold this morning-in the lower 20s. Sure glad I don't have any plants to worry about. Plan to stay indoors unless I decide to go for a walk around the building later on. Will finish undecorating the apartment. Did some yesterday and will finish today. Then I plan to read.

                Have a good one all!

                  good late Morning.

had a super grand sleep in untill 8am!!... the Gds went to visit their Aunt last evening ... never heard them come home.. don't even remember turning off the light..my Nook was cuddled up with me when I woke.. today I will have to leave the house.. have a perscription med refill. waiting on me at pharmacy. .
..Daug.Karen text .. 3 or the other four in the house started in middle of night with the ups and downs. and still doing same this morning .. hoping she don't start... sounds more like a touch of food poisoning with three getting sick at same time...

my boys are still sleeping .. and that s fine.. all I need to do is a load of laundry that can always wait. ..

                  happy for you Pat.
what a nice thing to do Bethina.. you are so sweet.
Hugs to Maxie... yea. looking ahead. May is coming !!!.
                  Hi Karlin. and Elaine..
JoG. I was rejoicing about how good my Gang is with each other... if there is any tension, I never see it.. what a fiasco that must have been...

better go, I hear feet moving in the kitchen.. see you all later.
Take it one Day , one step, at a time.. cause that's all we really have.

Good morning, all. Bright and sunny here but cold at 28º. Forgot to bring my corn plant from the porch. Hope it's OK.

Today is a tidy up day, nothing major, though.

Maye, I hope you can get some rest soon. Maybe a nice rocker or recliner.

Pat, I hope you enjoy your new digs.

                    That's all for now.

My computer is all messed up. It keeps saying that I have no Internet connection. I had a post all ready to go and the computer went dead. I have had to restart it half a dozen times and that is sooooo frustrating

I have done so little the past 3 days. I did get a call and was asked to go in and help the counters count the offerings. I was delighted! I HATE sitting at hone vegetating. I will vacuum tonight and mop floors. In fact, I have to get gong now as I just realized how late it is getting,

See y'all later!!! Happy 3rd Day of Christmas!!!!

I'm baaaacccckkkkk. I vacuumed and mopped! I also made hot dogs for supper and started a load of wash.

My kitchen light just blew out and it is dark in there.(It's dark in here even when the lights work!) It's a fluorescent light and I will have to wait till Monday to get it replaced. I hope they will do that. I have no way of getting to it and don't have a clue what size light to get.

I have to sort my meds for the week and I think I will watch the B&W version of the original "Miracle on 34th Street." I LOVE that movie - in any version! There is also a new movie, "The case for Christmas" that is like "Miracle" and is really good. Hallmark has had it on several times.

The wash is almost done and I am sure the floor is dry, so I guess I should put the clothes in the dryer.

Tomorrow will be an early start day, I will try and get to 8:30am Mass and then have coffee before the 11:15am Mass. After that I have to count the offertory. Monday I have a doctor's appointment in the morning and work in the afternoon. I will also be taking my personal stuff home from the office as it is my "last day" on the job. Tuesday I have cataract surgery. Wednesday is another doctor's appointment to get the eye checked. Thursday I get a perm and Friday I have my farewell luncheon. It is going to be a tough week. A super doper pooper scooper week!

I guess I have rambled on enough! Enjoy the last hew hours of this day!
