ROADHOUSE CINEMA
A very interesting experience. The recliners were very comfy. The "tables" were wooden trays attached to the armrest, not unlike some airlines' trays. If every recliner were reclined, there still is lots of space between your extended foot rest and the chair in front of you, where your server crouches down so as not to block peoples' views while they're serving. Bottom line, it's like sitting in your chair at home, watching a huge cinema screen (excellent clarity on it), and having Applebee's servers wait on you. We decided next time, if we go again, we'll stick with popcorn and a drink.
Tickets are cheapest online. You even pick the seats you prefer, and they're reserved for you. Not cheap. $15.99 for 2 seniors. Plus a Service Charge of $2.00.
Food is not unlike Applebee's, but a more limited selection. Taste is so-so. E had a burger...not unlike burgers in any restaurant, simple....the other 6 burgers had jalapeņos and/or hot sauce. I had a fish and chips basket with a coleslaw side, but no fork. I had a napkin dispenser on my chair's arm, which I sorely needed after eating the fish and some of the fries ( no, I didn't eat the coleslaw with my fingers, but I did complain on my way out). Also, eating in a reclined position, it's easy to get condiment drips, like catsup, on yourself. The food isn't cheap, it was $36.00 plus gratuity.....maybe slightly higher than the cost of Applebee's.
It might be a novel place to treat a guest, but we don't need to go to a place like that on a regular basis.
CINDERELLA
OK, this movie has been made oodles of times. I saw one version fairly much like this newest one. (Oh, how I've always loved Fairy Tales; also Hans Christen Andersen!)
But, I think this one version tops all the Cinderella movies. The mice don't actually converse with her, but Cinderella does talk to the animals.
The Fairy Godmother comes in as a surprise. Mostly, I loved her "magic". No instant-chango stuff; you watch the coach and critters actually grow into their parts; and at midnight, watch the magic reverse itself.
And the actors had their share of humor throughout the movie, all appropriately done. You can relate to them as real people.
I don't think I've spoiled any of the good stuff; we all know the bad stuff in the story. I really think you'll enjoy it. There were lots of kids there, but probably even more adults.
