    This month is almost over. Hey, we got rain, all day and all night. Makes stuff grow.

    DH and I signed up for a new cable, internet, phone service that will start in March. We are tired of paying the high price.

    Have a wonderful day.

    Good Morning.

    Another morning below freezing. Fortunately, it doesn't stay there.

    Planning on spending the day working on a newsletter and cooking a good lunch with lots of veggies.

    Hope you all have a very good day.

      Good Morning! Yesterday was a balmy 16 degrees. It's currently snowing...again.

      Yesterday I didn't accomplish much. Somehow the day just slipped by. Normally I take Blaise to school, exercise, come home, and Corky picks up Blaise. The owner of the gym & I were discussing my cookies & before I left she ask if I had any of them left and she wanted to buy them. So I picked up Blaise so I could deliver her cookies to her at the gym for her husband. I also sliced up the remains of the pie and gave some to her & to a couple of the ladies/moms at the preschool. Got rid of the temptation. Had a nice long chat with my oldest niece. She's growing into such a nice young woman. I'm very proud of her. I'm trying to be the aunt that Aunt Janet is & has been to me all these years.

      Not sure what all I'll get into today. Think I'll go grocery shopping first thing this morning. Aldi's has some great produce sales this week. Aldi's & Kroger's both start their new sales/ads on Wednesdays. Will hit up them both.

      Have a good one all & stay warm!

          Good Morning

          cold again,,, hate to say it, but getting used to that word .... and should go wash my mouth out with soap.. but being blessed with not needing to get
          out into the cold helps me stand it..

          the confrontation went well with lady , home school kids... Mrs T. called early in the morning and I did tell her what was on my mind.. and would discuss with each of the children ( With my big TEACHER Hat on).. and also told her She must be more consistant.. must pick a time and make that time a priority just like a dentist appt. or other coaches appts.. and she agreed.. I did have talk with each of the kids... the 16 yr boy . wants to keep on taking piano.. I stressed his time commitment.. he has lots of other activities. but he insisted he wanted to learn more music.. so he is staying .. he has great musicality and a joy to work with ..... the middle girl, 14, I told her I could not just teach her Popular music.. that she still needed regular lesson mat'l. (which she doesn't like...since piano is not her first love. ice skating is ,.. she will be allow to quit doing piano...that was a good choice. and Mom did not argue with me.
          the youngest girl. 11.. also has a good sense of musicality.. and I wanted to keep her. But under the condition that she really work ,,practice,and be here every week... that her appointment with ME.. was to be the top of her list... She wanted to stay too.. NOW if the Mom can find a time spot that suit ME and her.. I will bend a little because of appts. made by her weeks ago.. so I still have two students... and I hope a new understanding
          between all of us..

          Im not usually a confrontational person.... but once in a while you got to be.. or get run over...and get taken advantage of..

          Thank you Donna, what a nice compliment.

          went to another of Hannahs basketball games.last evening . they won!. ..wow, they are fun , there is another tournament game Thurs evening.. sure hope it doesn't turn bad.. Bill will drive. but don't like snow and bad roads..

          see you all later.

          Hi Paula
          Take it one Day , one step, at a time.. cause that's all we really have.

            Good morning all!

            I think it'll be a nice day here. Was lovely yesterday and got my walk in.

            Ran a lot of errands yesterday. Stuff delivered to Goodwill. Safeway to pick up some flowers (ended up getting some potted tulips for $5.00 and wish I had gotten a pot for my self) and then delivered the flowers and empty plate to the nice couple working at Prestige (where Buddy was) and thanking them again. Then went to the gas station where they also have a car wash so got the car filled and then got the car washed and waxed so it looks like new, even if it's almost 11 years old.

            Maye, so glad you got through your conference with the mom with ease. Knew you could do it. Now if she will only keep up her end.

            Have a good day all and keep warm.

              Garbage day and that means the little shih Tzu is awakened early and starts shaking and barking...Good early morning!
              did I mention the hostage stabbing hold off with SWAT and lockdown on Monday afternoon? Hoax! I hope they find the person who called it in. I locked all my doors, although with the pictures of the police and it was on a cul de sac, I did not feel worried, but still...anyway, the news is now saying how many agencies and police were involved and how much it cost. Like there isn't enough bad news really going on.
              Anyway, I have another school boy today since we are having our winter break week. It is fun to see these guys and his mom also asked to get back on the summer schedule.
              I have to make a dessert for a ladies meeting at church tonight. We are making journals for the local women's shelter. For domestic violence. I didn't knkow this before but when women come in the shelter gives them a journal as part of their therapy. So we have a ton of composition notebooks and the shelter would like them decorated in some way. I have lots of scrapbooking paper I am not using and this will be a good way to use it.
              Donna, it sounds to me like you got a lot done, just a different kind. Maye. it sounds like you got a lot accomplished with your students. People need help sometimes in setting their priorities. One of the things I have to say to myself a lot is: don't get caught up in the thick of thin things...Ice skating and piano can be at the top of that girl's list and then set the rest after those days are on the calendar. And school, of course...good you had the talk!

                Good morning!
                I'm a little later than usual this morning, but had a slew of emails to deal with.

                Hey, one more change in my med situation since yesterday. I don't know what the pharmacists said to each other, but mine got on the ball. They didn't say anything about it til the med was actually on its way to the store. She contacted her District Manager, who got a big load of the med to have in stock. And she had my prescription ready for pickup at 6 p.m.! (With my insurance, it was only $8 for a month supply. If I had to get it from the hospital for it, it would be over $130!) I think my asking my pharmacy if they were trying to kill me, made an impression on the woman. But they could have talked to their District Manager back in November when my med changes began. Maybe E's loud comments helped, too. This is the first time I got this particular med from my pharmacy! But mostly, I'm just very glad the problem finally is settled !

                So, I'm really not sure what today holds. I feel drained from the stress and tension of yesterday's ordeal. Am getting laundry done, slowly but surely. Right now im going to have my 2nd cup of mocha, to warm up. Mornings are at 50° here, then gradually warm into the 70's. Today should be 78°, and the next 2 days in the low 80's. You Eskimo don't-wannabes can come sit in our yard, we have a nice padded covered swing there. Ain't got grass, though, just gravel. No doubt the neighbor's cat will come by for attention, they meow loudly for treats! .

                We have planned to spend the last week of March in MI. As I mentioned, E's brother is certain he is dying and would like a visit before it's too late. We are hoping Old Man Winter will have started his departure from that side of the country by then. The cold goes straight to my bones, even though I grew up there. We will be there just a few days, I think. Not counting travel time.

                Maye, the conference went well. You laid the groundwork, now stick too it. It's a fact that kids, and even some adults, need ground rules to go by.
                Cookie, you will be a good mentor to your niece.

                To all, have a very nice day.
                ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
                Create a beautiful day wherever you go.
                  Good morning, all. Still warm and sunny today and no rain in sight. We will soon be living in a desert if this continues for many more years.
                  Kait is coming down to help me today and will spend the night. Will contact the Area 12 Agency on aging and see if they will pay her for one day a week. Other people here have family as caregivers, too.
                  I'm going to try walking to the community hall for lunch today. Walking back? Probably not although uphill is easier than down. Will take my cane. It isn't far and I used to walk it to work when I lived just up the street. Of course that was 45 years ago.
                  Doc wants me to get more exercise and I think this will be good for me.
                  Janet, I'm glad to see you laid down the law. Some people are just thoughtless about keeping appointments on time. Around here if one doesn't show up for a Dr. appointment they charged as if they had come. My dentist's office will drop you if there are 4 "no shows". If you don't call the day before, it's considered a no show. I went in one day with a nasty cold because it was a Monday and I couldn't call. Dr. was very nice about it although neither of us wanted to work on me that day. (sniff sniff).
                  Hurray for the save feature on our new board! Lost almost everything I had written but there it was. Just did it again so I will close for now. Everyone keep warm.
