    🗣

    Answer:
Black Tuesday, October 29, 1929, was the most devastating stock market crash in the history of the United States and the official beginning of the Great Depression. On October 29, 1929, Black Tuesday hit Wall Street as investors traded some 16 million shares on the New York Stock Exchange in a single day. Billions of dollars were lost, wiping out thousands of investors. Some stocks actually had no buyers at any price that day. The Dow lost 30 points, or 12 percent. Who owns all the swans in England?

    UK citizens

    UK Prime Minister

    Queen Elizabeth II

    The United States

    🌺

    Answer:
The Queen owns all the swans in England. Any unclaimed mute swan in open waters in England and Wales is hers if she wants it. "The Queen only exercises her ownership on certain stretches of the Thames and its surrounding tributaries," the monarchy's official website states. In 1482, that status was legally defined by the Act of Swans, and anyone who was not the king or given permission caught with a swan could face imprisonment. Royal ownership of the swans was primarily derived from the belief that swans, especially cygnets and young swans, were tasty. The Queen can also give away her own swans to whomever she sees fit; in 1967, she presented six swans to the Canadian city of Ottawa to celebrate its 100th birthday and Canada's ties to England.

What is the cost of each of the utilities in the game of Monopoly?

        $75

        $100

        $150

        $200

        🙄

        Answer:
In Monopoly, there are two utilities. They each cost $150, and rent is 4x the dice roll if one utility is owned, or 10x the dice value if both are owned. The Electric Company is one of the two utilities. The second is Water Works, and has the exact same values as the Electric Company, the only difference being position. The cost of each property is $150. Since the board game was first commercially sold in the 1930s, it has been locally licensed in more than 103 countries and printed in more than 37 languages.

Which state is nicknamed the "Sooner State"?

          Nebraska

          Oklahoma

          Kansas

          Iowa

          Answer:
The name Oklahoma is derived from the Choctaw words okla and humma, meaning "red people". It is also known informally by its nickname, The Sooner State, in reference to the non-Native settlers who staked their claims on the choicest pieces of land prior to the official opening date, and the Indian Appropriations Act of 1889, which opened the door for white settlement in America's Indian Territory. The name was settled upon statehood, Oklahoma Territory and Indian Territory were merged and Indian was dropped from the name. On November 16, 1907, Oklahoma became the 46th state to enter the union. Its residents are known as Oklahomans, or informally "Okies", and its capital and largest city is Oklahoma City.

            U.S. Capitol Building

            The White House

            Library of Congress

            Lincoln Memorial

            💵

            Answer:
The United States twenty-dollar bill is a denomination of U.S. currency. The seventh U.S. President, Andrew Jackson has been featured on the front side of the bill since 1928, which is why the twenty-dollar bill is often called a "Jackson," while the White House is featured on the reverse side. In 1948, The White House picture was updated to reflect renovations to the building itself, including the addition of the Truman Balcony, as well as the passage of time.

What Confederate general was known as "Stonewall"?

              Robert E. Lee

              Thomas J. Jackson

              Ulysses S. Grant

              William Tecumseh Sherman

              👤

              Answer:
Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson was a Confederate general during the American Civil War, and the best-known Confederate commander after General Robert E. Lee. Military historians consider Jackson to be one of the most gifted tactical commanders in U.S. history. Confederate pickets accidentally shot him at the Battle of Chancellorsville on May 2, 1863. The general survived with the loss of an arm to amputation, but died of complications from pneumonia eight days later. His death was a severe setback for the Confederacy, affecting not only its military prospects, but also the morale of its army and of the general public.
