  • ❓VOWEL MOVEMENT❓

    When I learned about Vowels in school, they were a, e, I, o, u, and sometimes y and w.

My husband, the "grammar Nazi", had to look them up, because they never taught him about the w. (Which has an "oo" sound.)

In looking it up, not many sites mention the w. Many do include the y. Basic vowels do not include beyond a, e, i, o, and u.

So, how did YOU learn the vowels?

I can't win. That was an i in my draft, it turned into an I as I continued to type, I corrected it again, but when I copied and posted it, it became an I again.
    So my vowels should read a, e, i, o, u, and sometimes y and w.
Now I hope it doesn't change again when I post this again.

How about: do you agree with the y & w as vowels?
      Apparently some people do not.
